btw wasnt sure if this was prefix question or problem so sorry if i got it wrong.
Did you get your autogroup issue solved? I had a similar problem but it was only when I set my bard to puller in autogroup that I had the group reset and my bard ended up in a separate group designated as puller. It may not be the proper solution but I ended up not assigning an automatic puller role. When I put Puller into the bard’s ini she started pulling and my autogroup stayed together.

MQ2AutoGroup is my plugin that will create your group upon them zoning into the whole, set group roles, and then will run a command. Your MQ2AutoGroup.ini entries will look something like this:

Rich (BB code):
[StartCommand]
firiona_Hoosierbilly=/macro startshit
firiona_Eqmule=/macro startshit
firiona_Redbot=/macro startshit
firiona_Plure=/macro startshit
firiona_Masuri=/macro startshit
firiona_Noobhaxor=/macro startshit
[Group1]
Server=firiona
Member1=Hoosierbilly|Master Looter
Member2=Eqmule
Member3=Redbot|Main Tank|Main Assist
Member4=Plure
Member5=Masuri
Member6=Noobhaxor
NEVER POST YOUR INI FILE

Member1 is always going to be leader of the group. He is going to invite the other when they are in the same zone, they will only be invited one time. As people join the leader will assign group roles based on what you set in the ini. If for some reason your leader isn't Member1, no group roles will be assigned.

Group slots can be reserved for mercenaries. If you set one of your characters to use their mercenary they will attempt to revive them if dead, or if you don't set a character to have a mercenary and they are up they will be suspended. This action is only done right away, it doesn't continue through your time playing.

Open group slots can be set aside to be used by anyone connected to your eqbc server or on dannet. The group leader will invite anyone that connected to either service that is in the same zone as the group leader.

After all of the group members join, or you invite someone manually and the group is full each character will run one command that you have set for them. I have all of my characters run start.mac, it decides what macro to run by the zone your in, puts in a delay for my puller to give the buffers time to do their buffing etc.

Commands
Rich (BB code):
/AutoGroup create -> Create a new group, this player will be the leader.
/AutoGroup delete -> Will delete the group this player was in.
/AutoGroup startcommand "Command to be executed" -> Will execute the command once your group is formed.
/AutoGroup set [maintank|mainassist|puller|marknpc|masterlooter] -> Will set the player/merc targeted to that group role.
/AutoGroup remove [maintank|mainassist|puller|marknpc|masterlooter] -> Will remove that group role from your group.
/AutoGroup add [player|merc] -> Add the player/merc of the player targeted to your group.
/AutoGroup remove [player|merc] -> Remove the player/merc of the player targeted from their group.
/AutoGroup add [eqbc|dannet] -> Will give the option to invite characters connected to eqbc/dannet to your group.
/AutoGroup remove [eqbc|dannet] -> Will remove the the option to invite characters connected to eqbc/dannet.
/AutoGroup status -> Displays your settings and group.

This seems like an obvious question, but where is the autogroup.ini file stored? I've searched my system for and haven't found it. The automatic grouping is working fine (thank you for such a timesaver!), but I somehow managed to add the leader as Master Looter twice and can't figure out how to fix it from in game. Perhaps I'll try deleting the group and starting over.

A little more information, as I think this might indicate a bug of sorts... The leader of the group is also the Master Looter, Main Tank, Main Assist, and Puller and has their mercenary active.

The "bug" is that Autogroup allowed me to add the Main Looter twice. Running "/autoloot status" after doing so showed them as having the rolls "xxx|Main Tank|Main Assist|Master Looter|Puller|Master Looter". When I mistakenly added the Master Looter the second time Autogroup also cleaned out the entire group apart from the leader and showed all the group members as being empty.

I hesitate to suggest this as it has been a while since I programmed, but here it is anyway :(
I would add a new section under each group called "[GroupNRoles]". The fields within it would be "Main Tank=charxyz" etc.
Each role could only exist once, so changing them would no longer be no issue.

Thank you for an extremely helpful tool.

mq2autogroup.ini is found in your MQ config folder.
You can find that by looking in your MQ directory, or by choosing the folders "Open Folder" menu when right clicking the MQ tray icon.

So I just Logged that group back in and confirmed the anomalous behavior. Autogroup allows me to add a role multiple times, and when it does it also clears out all the other group members.

I'm going to delete the group and start over to try and fix the mess I've created.

Thank you - turns out I'd forgotten how to specify the search string. So silly :)

Not sure what I am doing wrong..
I have been playing around with the MQ2AutoGroup.ini file as it is of utmost importance who is |Main Assist
For a while I would had been trying to use that on the leader of the group who is Main Assist but many times the 1777379551650.png was not showingup sometimes.
If this symbol did not show up you were going to have a bad day.. it seems to show up fine when I dont have it on the leader and from time to time works on the leader but other times when you need it to be there is not there.. so using one person to get the group somewhere.. and another toon to be the main assist.. are others having this issue?

merging your post into the mq2autogroup thread

> Here's how to find out where to post in the right area :) <

how are you creating your autogroup? i have a vid in my signature.

also - the cwtn class plugins (which you seem to use) will automatically set yourself as group ma/mt if you're the leader and in a tanking mode, so you have some redundancy there to help you

mine look like:

INI:
[Group1]
Server=vox
Member1=SK|Main Assist|Main Tank
Member2=Shaman
Member3=Bard
Member4=DPS1
Member5=DPS2
Member6=DPS3
[Group2]
