Release MQ2AAspend

The file is saved by character in servername_charactername.ini (the same file as mq2rez and mq2melee use). I have my own recipe/priority per class, and just copy and paste it in.
Sorry my question was posed poorly, I have a box group of 4 toons under 115 and two toons at 115. I'm trying to figure out how to auto assign aa's to the two 115 characters while box grouping with the other four. The two toons in question are actually close to max aa's so if it would just SPEND them I would be happy. Cleric has 4 more aa's to max and is at 99.999 so he simply is just pling the others now until I sneak in here and spend the aa's.

Could you post the ini file section you speak of? Does KissAssist read that section and spend aa's as they build up?

this is how i do mine - you can do this from in game and then the last command saves the settings

INI:
/aaspend brute on
/aaspend order 53214
/aaspend bank 200
/aaspend save

This turns on brute mode (auto spending), from tabs in order 5, 3, 2, 1, 4, keeps a bank of 200 (i use this just so i always have a "bank" available if i need to manually purchase some big item), then the save

it should auto purchase upon getting aa

if it doesn't you can do a /aaspend brute now and see if it tells you why it didn't spend - some 0 cost ones act up sometimes

I did mine like this a few times, and for some reason it would prioritze (1) tradeskills over (5) focus aa's.

Okay I assume you are saying this works with kissassist running? I'm a RG newb so it needed to be asked.

Also, /aaspend order is tab order? I'll look it up after asking but never a bad idea to ask.

this is mq2aaspend, a plugin - unrelated to kissassist

and yes on tab order

Thank you, I think I'm confusing "plugin" with "macro" and only one "macro" can be running at any given time. Thanks again for your help.

all good mikeraylittle, takes a bit to get oriented with all the stuff mq2/VV has to offer.

in general, a broaaaad general, plugins tend to be things that do Quality of Life type behavior - like auto foraging (mq2autoforage), auto accepting invites (MQ2AutoAccept ), notifying you (mq2posse) or reacting to certain things (mq2react - mq2melee with down/holy), accepting a rez (mq2rez), being able to run around a zone (mq2nav / advpath), go from zone to zone (mq2easyfind), relocate to places via clickies/aas (mq2relocate), get information (mq2status), etc

macros are often more broad and do things like combat and combat related stuff (kissassist, muleassist, ihcmercs, entropy/core, modbot) - these will often incorporate the before mentioned plugins to do stuff - like kissassist has settings that will adjust your mq2rez settings, for example. This however is not exclusive as the macro language/syntax allows you to near do anything you can think of. You want to get an Ogre and a high elf and sit on a corner in PoK and do the Jay and Silent Bob "Another Day at the Quick Stop" song - you can macro that

Macros don't require compiling, or anything fancy, you could make one RIGHT NOW and have it start doing stuff in game.

the /mac name like /mac fish only allows you to run at a time, where plugins (usually) run concurrently.

macros I use all the time are things like:
fish.mac (either wired or chat's version)
combine.mac (the in game mass combination thing is terrible)
parcel.mac - send those collectibles around to my other toons
lobbyrez.mac (my edit) - has your dudes summon their corpse in the lobby

some custom stuff:
sends all my plat to a toon
basic farming macros

I swear I could never get this plugin to work. I configured it every which way, but it seemed to be doing things at random.

It’s very possible that I just screwed something up.

I can't seem to get it to work either. hmmmm

I just spent the last hour working with this on my Ranger. The "/aaspend order" does not work at all. I put in order 51423 for my Ranger. He has no aa's left on Archetype or Class. Instead of spending on the "Focus" tab #5 aaspend spends on the lowest aa requirement on tab 1 "General". Not a big deal on cleric as he only has one aa left to spend on, welly except for 4 of the non-useful glyphs. Any thoughts?

The reason for that is that your banked AA is too low. Basically, the plugin works like this:
  1. Is my AA total less than "banked" setting in AAspend? Yes, do nothing. No, we're going to buy stuff.
  2. If we're going to buy stuff, check the first tab in the order: 5 (in your case)
  3. Look at tab 5, are there AAs we can afford? Yes, buy 1 rank of the most expensive AA that we can afford. No, go to next tab
At this point, if you bought any rank of an AA, it checks that you're over or under the Banked setting. Most likely you'll be under because the plugin checks as soon as you're 1 point over the threshold. If you're now under the threshold, it stops buying. However, if you didn't buy an AA on the first tab because the only available AAs on that tab are more expensive than your banked setting, it's going to move to the second tab and check there. So now it's on Tab 1 (based on your order of 51423). If it finds an AA on tab 1 to buy, it buys it.

If you want it to stay on tab 5 and buy all ranks of all AAs there before ever checking other tabs, you need to be banking more AA than the most expensive rank of any AA on tab 5. Being the focus tab, they can get quite expensive. Synergy goes up to 200 points for a single rank, so you need to be working with a bank of 200+.

Okay, I'll buy that and repeat what I said "the thing does not work." Based on the earlier explanation regarding listing the "tabs" to buy what you are telling me is I have to take into account the "cost" of each aa item? That renders this process totally useless unless I do not care about the "random" nature of the purchases or sit here and determine each rank will fall into the "purchase" guidelines. The reasonable process would take the tabs I selected in order and spend based on the first tab. If I have 0 or 10 listed as "bank" then the applications reasonable approach would purchase the aa on THAT TAB with the available aa's. That is not what the application is doing. On cleric it purchased from the "special" tab when "Focus" was listed as the first tab to purchase from. If that is not the behavior then the tab order is meaningless.

I suppose that is fine. Cleric is now max aa's and Ranger is not far behind. SK hit 115 last night so I am going to try to target aa's on him. The rest of the gang is approaching 115 so I'll have to decide what to do with them when we get there.

So I am having issues with my set up. When I have MQ2AASpend running, its buying AA's in a different group than I want it to. Here is my setup:
[MQ2AASpend_Settings]
AutoSpend=1
BruteForce=0
BruteForceBonusFirst=0
BankPoints=200
SpendOrder=23154
[MQ2AASpend_AAList]

What am I doing wrong?

Well let's start with what is it buying?

Also for auto mode to work i believe you need a list of the aas you want it to buy and in what order.

I usually use brute mode and just change the order based on which tab I want it to buy from.

The goal is to purchase all AA's in Archetype, then move to Class, then to General, Focus, and lastly Special.
I'll try brute mode and see how that works for me.

Does anyone know how to configure mq2aaspend's INI file to force the AA Weapon Stances to be disabled? I've tried 1=Weapon Stances|1 and 1=Weapon Stances: Disabled|1 but the plug-in keeps enabling it.

A response from my discord thread: ""I found if i set my Bank to like the highest cost on the category it would not toggle stances or languid Bites etc.. until everything else was purchased. Turn off aaspend?"

My reply:"Moriasato Yes, Brute Force is enabled. Bank Point=0. My AAs are maxed as a level 110 prestige SK Weapon Stances in the AA window is curr level 1/2 when disabled and 2/2 when enabled. I suppose I could exclude Archetype (2) from the order and that may work, but I was hoping to find the ini config that would stop aaspend from buying Weapon Stances past level 1. Thanks for the replies, moriasato. Excluding Archetype from the SpendOrder does stop mq2aaspend from enabling Weapon Stances, but it's not optimum since I will eventually level above 110 and want to auto spend on Archetype AAs."

Nothing,it does the same for me, I am thinking it is in need of some love.

Did you try bank=200?

I'm pretty sure you need to have BruteForce = 1 in order to use the Spend Order.

/aaspend brute on
/aaspend save

I always have spend order as 32514 as well which is not default for some reason -- Class, Arch, Focus (these take forever as they get to 100 for many AA), Gen, Special

im new to red guides and im trying to get AAspend to work and i could use some help lol. i downloaded the file i went into the ini and changed AAspend from false to true idk if i needed to do that or not lol but i try to load it typing /mac aaspend and it says couldnt open macro folder

No need for /mac aaspend. The command syntax is just:

/aaspend

Try, /aaspend status, and see what it spits back. From there, you can /aaspend to get a list of the syntax. If you need more info, check out the first post, on the first page of this thread. :)

AND, Welcome to RedGuides!

this is how i set up my dudes

I want them to brute buy (not read a list of things to buy --- i don't have time to make that list!)
I want them to buy from focus, then class, then arch, then general, then 4 tab
I want them to save up 200 points before spending (bank), so i can ensure i'm buying the expensive AAs (and so i can manually spend if there is something i want)

INI:
/aaspend brute on
/aaspend order 53214
/aaspend bank 200
/aaspend save

i try to load it typing /mac aaspend and it says couldnt open macro folder
So AASpend is not a macro, it's a plugin which has "always on" functionality. As long as the plugin is being loaded on startup, it is "running" essentially in the background. Do what sic shows. Maybe change the ordering. The numbers 53214 refer to the tabs in the EQ AA window from left to right ie 1=General, 2=Archetype, etc.

MQ2AASpend - This plugin assists with AA spending.

MQ2AASpend has been completely rewritten from the ground up to be a NON-ACTIVE HACK and OMG it has an INI file too.

Commands:

/aaspend - Lists command syntax
/aaspend status - Shows current status
/aaspend add "AA Name" level - Adds AA Name to ini file, will not purchase past level. Use M to max out available levels.
/aaspend del "AA Name" - Deletes AA Name from ini file
/aaspend debug On|Off - turn on or off debug.
/aaspend buy "AA Name" - Buys a particular AA. Ignores bank setting.
/aaspend brute on|off|now - Buys first available ability on ding, or now if specified. Default
/aaspend auto on|off|now - Autospends AA's based on ini on ding, or now if specified. Default
/aaspend bank # - Keeps this many AA points banked before auto/brute spending. Default
/aaspend load - Reload ini file
/aaspend save - Save current settings to the ini file
/aaspend bonus on - only buy AA that aren't autogranted. A powerleveler's best friend!
/aaspend order 12345 - Set the order of the tabs to be spent when brute force is on. 1=general,2=archetype,3=class,4=special,5=focus

/aaspend order 32541 - Brute force mode would buy all AAs in this order Class, Archetype, Focus, Special, General

ini file same as MQ2Melee server_Toonname.ini i.e. tunare_Bob.ini

Cant get this to work...doesnt find the plugin. (im fairly new to all this) I also did /aaspend load and every command possible, doesnt work.

to load the plugin you would do
This is the syntax for loading/unloading a plugin /plugin <plugin name> <load/unload> (load unload is optional, as without them it is a toggle)
/plugin mq2aaspend load

and then, this is how i set up my dudes

I want them to brute buy (not read a list of things to buy --- i don't have time to make that list!)

mq2AAspend plugin is working on 2 chars but not the 3rd. It says its loaded and brute is on but it is not spending. bank is set to 200 and the order is set. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?

Check IF the next AA in line to buy is an toggle. That can screw things up.

This is working for me on my 10 char team:

[MQ2AASpend_Settings]
AutoSpend=0
BruteForce=1
BruteForceBonusFirst=0
BankPoints=217
SpendOrder=53214
[MQ2AASpend_AAList]

However, I have it set to spend as they come in, no real personalization. If you look at the first entry, the toggle for autospend is off, while using Brute mode is on.

@kjyfqr if you have an aa that is toggleable, you have to make sure it’s maxed out, before mq2aaspend will work again

YES ... wished there was an update that would leave these alone !
I cannot count how many thousands of AA's that I have wasted across alts because it works until it doesn't :)

I notice the plugin fumbles on buying the passive aa that need to be "enabled" (0 aa points enable) and just gives up and banks max aa.

Yeah, that's why you need to look at your banked aas from time to time in case the plugin block on these

Is there some kind of special way to continuously buy glyphs? I've enabled debug mode to see what is going on and it claims the aa isn't available to purchase when bought, which makes sense, but after I've used the Glpyh and its available for purchase again it says its max'd so skipping buying it, worked fine for the initial purchase and I'm max on every other AA so only thing I can do at this point is to continuously burn through glyphs. Settings are set as such

INI:
[MQ2AASpend_Settings]
AutoSpend=1
BruteForce=0
BruceForceBonusFirst=0
BankPoints=185
SpendOrder=32154

[MQ2AASpend_AAList]
104=Glyph of Destruction (115+)|M

are you over your bankpoints lvl when you are expecting to buy? bankpoints 185 is going to wait until you have 185 points before you go to buy

are you over your bankpoints lvl when you are expecting to buy? bankpoints 185 is going to wait until you have 185 points before you go to buy
ya im at 230 aas and have to manually buy the glyph. exactly 45aas(the cost of the glyph) over the amount of aas i want banked

You should try with:
INI:
[MQ2AASpend_AAList]
0=Glyph of Destruction (115+)|M

Otherwise, if you are maxed, you can disable auto and enable brute. For me it's working.

is there a way to stop mq2aaspend from buying a certian aa? such as languid bleed?

[BGCOLOR=initial]Few posts above describe removing the specific tab from the spend order but it skips the entire tab. Only other way would be to setup an auto list of AAs by name and not have that one on it. [/BGCOLOR]

Personally I had brute mode with focus > class > arch > general > special

I kept a high bank count, and I would manually buy things I wanted from class/arch when I was able otherwise they would slowly grind away at the focus.

Though a blacklist would be nice, since the plugin seemed to bug out and be unable to buy a buy a few things I found recently... A bard and a rogue AA, names elude my memory, and they held up the plugin and any further AA spending. I imagine there are a handful of AA that cause issues

I personally like the brute method because I was too lazy to set up the AA's after a half dozen toons. :) With a good group you can max aa in a week anyways.
