looking for a zone where the mobs drop a good bit of plat i know of the underquarry which i a very abandoned zone with lots of burynai mobs that drop 30-40 pp per and the mobs are condensed which is nice. any other spots in old or new world that have mobs with deep pockets.

the cyclops dudes in ocean of tears was legit back in the day
or giants in rathe mountains

for newer stuff finding mobs that drop diamonds/blue diamons is where the money is at

@kaen01 has reported some good zones using his pocketfarm to make moolah

how does the pocketfarm work
It lets you kill indiscriminately. It will simply run to the nearest mob, turn on melee attack, wait until dead. Rinse and repeat. In the .ini file you can set a max range and name specific mobs to kill or ignore. No spells, AA or discs, just straight melee auto-attack. It's great for wiping out entire zones of low level mobs that pose no threat.

i'm somewhat new to the macro and macroquest anyone able to show me exactly what i need to type in the box to get it started doing the pocket farm

You go to where you want to run the macro, then type: /mac pocketfarm
When you're done, type /end

Howdy Andrew,

So first you would want to download pocket farm HERE and you would want to stick it in your MACRO folder (MQ2 --> Release --> Macros)

once inside the folder you can type /mac pocketfarm in game

/mac followed by the macro name starts a macro - you can end the macro by /endmacro or simply /end

If you haven't already (and i think i might have already suggested to you, sorry if i'm repeating) to check out our RedGuides Starter Videos - these help you get setup with mq2nav, mq2autologin, and running kissassist (which shows how to run a macro etc). I also have a newbie friendly vid in my signature that is worth checking out to see some of the feature/functions of RedGuide's VeryVanilla MQ2 setup - mq2nav, travelto, kissassist, mq2berzerker, /camphere, etc

updating the thread after a while. Mobs in Kurns tower from SOD expantion drop around 18-24 per mob for most other than the dogs and i think golems. fair amount of blue and regular diamonds fairly antisocial. ive also found a good spot around the back side of the lake in Shards landing a VOA expantion zone. It is more of a kissassit spot rather than pocketfarm not plat but lots of good trash drops and fair tradeskill stuff to sell

I notice a lot of mobs in the cov expansion drop upwards of 150pp each, I do see something about (luck) not sure if luck has something to do with it, but that is a pretty nice chunk of plat. Not sure what level you may be looking at, I know Dulak's Harbor use to be a great place to farm gems. I'm still waking up atm, this might be a mute post. haha

any and all lvls just wanting some info for the community.
Shard's Landing in General...but more to the point the beetles on the top-left part of your map. Tons of Blue Diamonds, Diamonds...and valuable trade mats you can sell/barter. Most 85-90 can solo/group kill in the area...just watch out you don't pull too many all at once if you're low lvl.

Another good way to make platinum is to buy up all of the following from your server:
  1. Intricate Binding Powder
  2. Elaborate Binding Powder
  3. Relic Fragments
  4. Sunshard Ore
Specially if it's being sold for nothing in /bazaar or if /barter is way low (low teens/hundreds). They are rare-ish, time consuming to farm in significant quantities (hours/days) and always in high demand for people looking to tradeskill up. If you get enough of it, drain the server and block barter with your own buyer ... you can retire selling nothing but that in bazaar

Note: be aware some people have 21+ yrs of this stuff stashed so it may take a while to drain the server...that strategy works long term as long as you've got deep enough pockets (10-20 mil in buyer with a few 999 /buy lines) to perma-block others via /barter with your own floor so you can control the market

Anything a sub 85 FTP 6box can handle? Or do we have completely different ideas of easy?
Do this on your server...type /barter ... sort by price High to low...look at trade mats...and figure out which ones drop in the 0-70 range...as an example Sunshard Ore, Intricate Binding...etc...that are paying well...and set your bots in a zone that drops that. Farming via plat will take you an eternity to be honest...but if you reverse engineer your farm list from your server's /barter you should be able to quickly monetize your bots.

I mean easiest i can think of if create 6 druids and set them to forage 24/7 some rare stuff like relic fragments or whatever

Or...type /barter...figure out on your server which players have the highest /buy lines from Kronos and send them a tell asking them if they're contracting out for any rare drops/trade mats and merc yourself out to build out some platinum. Good way to build that relationship and negotiate some pricing

Also, fishing and tinkering are good hooks. Most people don't have the patience (fishing, poison), platinum (tinkering, alchemy), or force of will to max out these trade skills.

Another route is consumable stuff: EX...Power Sources, Potions (Planar Ovedose=clicky feign death, Gate potions on some servers, Dye potions) Food, Drink, clicky swarm pets (Arx, Ceramic Stattuetes, etc)...etc... Some are low margin but the sale velocity is really high, some move slow but the profit margins can be substantial

Note: powerplayer tip make absolubtely certain your healers: shaman, cleric, druids...always have Planar Overdose potions...if it ever gets to a dicey scenario you can have them auto fd via kissassist even if your main fd ability is in cooldown like necro's, monks, sk's do...

Don't be a douche tip: pick a path and try not to monopolize raw material and finished combined product sales. The reason for this is you either want to be a supplier of raw materials (to traders, or re-salers) or a finished product seller. The moment you become both you shoot yourself in the foot because you then can't transfer volume (of either to others) which slows down your plat intake velocity and increases risks (because you're now the idiot holding everything). It's also a douche/dick move to everyone else trying to make a living in the server.

Overseer has reduced the effectiveness of foraging or killing lowbie TS stuff for profit. It’s still possible, but it’s less profitable than it used to be.

in this scenario, I’d have to set up a trader correct? Can FTP have a trader toon? I thought they couldn’t or at least there’s a limit on how they function

You have to sub to have a trader, but you can still sell to /barter as much as you want. SOoo...if you read from above there's still quite a bit of plat you can make via farming/ts. At some point you'll need to sub some accts for high-end content...usually your dps/melee accts should be subbed. When you're done using them make a seller and a buyer and you can sell or buy items offline.

One thing about /barter....

Check the vendor selling price of the TS items you're farming. If the douchebags in /barter are buying the items BELOW vendor price, then fuck'm. Vendor that shit all day long. And if it were me, I'd vendor it in really random, out of the way places where it's likely to poof the next time the zone reloads because fuck'm for trying to take advantage of you. For example, there's a guy on my server at the moment buying (or trying to buy, assuming people aren't dumb) imbued gems and other things that vendor for 300-400 plat for 45 plat.

If you setup a /barter, and actually intend on making plat that way, you have to make the choice between hoping people are stupid to raise your profit margin, or being a good neighbor and paying a fair price for the items. If you can't turn a profit by paying at or above the vendor price, then maybe you need to find a different TS item to churn.

There are some vendors who do not hold your items for re sale. You can sell to them but their inventory will never show anything but what they sell. I often use my guild hall banker or if in POK I will use Culkin Ironstove over by the other baking merchants or one of the others nearby

100% Agree with this with one caveat.

When I was on Live, and poor and had just a couple of bags, I often would set up a buyer for myself for common items that I wanted to keep with a buy price of 1c. I would sell my stuff from the field to my own guy because I didn't have enough bag space to hold it.

Can also just pop one of your AA vendors if you have them.

Personally I like Santus Seru, the arena spectators will auto-attack after a few rounds of killing them, wrote a macro to move a character around the circle with a pet and let the pet do the work. Move. .. move .. . . move. . . the pet kills it all without buffs, without a merc. Nothing but plat and a few tradeskill drops to loot.
