I am thinking about coming back to explore the new expansion casually. Can anyone please confirm exactly what progression is required to be able to zone into and explore all of the zones? I don't want to be hardcore and seriously want to do the minimum just to zone into every zone for now. Thanks in advance!

As far as i know, just buy the expansion, and all zones are open to zone into. No need progression for explore

The newest expansion, SoR did have requirements to zone into the t2 zones onwards (just partisan of the 2nd zone) unsure if this is still needed or not.
Use the guild portal guy and that takes you to the middle of Scarred Grove. It seems a friendly place but still be careful. You can pick collections off the ground, buy spells, and some other mellow stuff. Good and evil camps to do that. It seems the mobs take groups to kill, I have not seen any one soloing them.
At the end of the stream is the way to Candlemaker's Workshop. Use ivu before you enter the cavern to get to Candlemakers zone. Run fast. Once in Candle there are the quest npc etc.
In there I have been able to get quests from the little robot guy but cannot get thru the doors to get to Arcstone unless the player who opens them is in my group. I have not done Candle partisan which would allow me to go thru them without group. Not sure about just following someone in since there is not many players going there when I am in the zone.
The mobs seem to hit pretty hard but with a good group (ranger included) it should be fine. Stay away from the big colorful balls that float/roll around as they will strip your cammo
