Version of KissAssist.mac?
v12.002
When did your problem start?
2.23.22
Character Role?
  1. Hunter
What class is having this issue?
  1. Monk
How often does this issue occur?
Always
Can you reproduce the issue?
Yes, turning hunter mode on with a fresh ka ini
Just came back from a break and upgraded to MQ2 next with a fresh install.
Started my monk in hunter mode and noticed it wasn't attacking, hit my melee button and it killed the mob, ran and grabbed next mob and was sitting there not attacking. Noticed MQ2melee wasn't turning on until I hit my melee button manually.
Melee is set to stickrange 75 and meleedistance 75.
Using pullertank has no issue what so ever. This is on a fresh install and used a fresh ini.

Any help would be appreciated.

Having same issue this morning. Casting is fine. Follow fine. All behavior looks normal except that my assisting toons never turn on melee. Settings still the same. I can flip over manually and hit melee and they attack. They even face the mob. But they just stand there. Casters and pets going to town. Hmmm. this is the relevant section for my monk who should be assisting.

try setting it to 0
kiss can handle all the melee stuff by itself

I am having this problem too. Something to add though. When i first get them all set up, the melee will attack just fine as long as i am pulling mobs to the group. As soon as I use "Come to me" or "Follow me" to move the group to a new location, dps stops attacking when the monk brings mobs in. It's like after using come to me or follow me, it changes something in the kissassist. This had never been a problem before, as i would always click follow me off once i got to mobs, so dps was free to run around back side of mob, but after the patch it doesn't work anymore. they target the mob but just sit and look at it.

I'm manually pulling my mobs back to my group. they are close up. I'm beating on them...casters all casting...I see my monk even doing some kind of animation (gotta figure out what I have him doing) but then...when I look there is no melee...they just kinda stand around...first time it's been like this and only happened after the update yesterday morning. *shrug*

@Infest Can you enable the dps section?

Something in me, is saying that DPSOn=1, is required here.

You may also require to have something in the DPS skills, something defined for DPS1= ( other than NULL ).

This is exactly the same for me. Something has broke in the latest patch.

I hope I'm not out of line, and apologize in advance if so, but I'll @ some folks to get dev eyes on this in case a patch needs to roll out (or just to get a "yeah, we're on it")
@Sic, @Redbot , @Knightly

I updated and retried this. Melee are still not autoattacking.

I’ll add, I’m on Rizlona. Using Follow Me and Come to Me often.

There is an out of group Druid healing also using KA.

The original poster, listed a KA profile being used and talked of the problem being experienced.

A number of you have come back with short comments of the ilk - "same issue".

It would help the devs, to help the community, if people could elaborate a little bit more with regards your own setups. In particular, what combat routine code you are using.
e.g. KissAssist, MuleAssist, RGMercs, CWTN plugin.

If it's not working for you with one of the above, your long standing preference, have you tried an alternative?

There is also the marmite of plugins - melee - that some love it, or hate it.
It's configurable as 'on' or 'off' in KA and can be used by your own bespoke macros as well. ( I think some of the 'farm' scripts make use of it).

What I'm trying to say is, the more information albeit brief, you can provide about your setup then it can help people diagnose it.
Rather than assume, that the original is about KA and all the respondents here are having trouble with KA. No issues reported with the other combat routine code, assumed they are working fine.

There is a line that sticks in my head from an 90s film; "Under Siege 2" - "assumption is the mother of all f--k ups".
It cracked me up when first heard it, and has held true in my mind working technical challenges over the years since.

using most recent patch of MQ/VV with Kissassist with a brand new MQ-Live install (cuz old install wasn't working). have RGMercs plugin installed but don't seem to be using it atm.
ECBC=1.

My MT/MA engages and brings things back to camp manually...All casters function normally. They cast. They heal. They send in their pets.

The melee toons target whomever the MA is targetting. the bard will mezz adds. BUT...
None of the melee turn on attack. as posted above, melee=1. They mobs are brought into range even sitting right on top of the dummies.

I hit attack and in my tank's MQ window it shows MQ2Melee::Attacking [an emaciated zomie].

Have tried with MQ2melee=1 and also =0 neither does anything

if I do /bcg //attack then they will attack. If I switch targets they get dumb again. Have to hit the button to tell them to attack again.

Also...just noticed I am getting no response from anyone from the "Come to me" button. The follow me button works but the come to me is getting zero response.
Pushing it shows in the MQ window (group_server_name)/multiline ; /afollow off;/nav stop:/timed 5 id 7293

for me, my melee toons will eventually attack. However if I pull multiple mobs in, they assist on the first mob (well below the actual assist % listed), after it dies, the melee take quite some time to even switch to the new MA target and then even longer before attacking. I just figured my PC was lagging behind or something, but now reading this, maybe its an issue with KA/plugins. I dont have much more info outside of that.

Tried turning MQ2melee off, same results. Tried fresh (new) profiles, same results.

Bard / Ranger will not turn auto attack on. Everything else seems to be working as intended (following, discs, songs, targeting, buffing).

I have been using the same settings on my bard for close to a year, all the way back to 11.005 (or maybe even earlier). As soon as I patched a few days ago, this issue started.

Doing more checking with Melee=1 and Use MQ2Melee=1 with a stickcommand

My melee do target the same mob as my tank manually targets. But do not attack and do not move with stick.
However, if I do a /bga /attack then they attack and reposition per the stick.
So the issue that I'm seeing appears to be that Melee=1 isn't registering somehow? But once I manually force an attack the rest of the macro activates? Zero programming knowledge here. Just trying to note what is observed.

Zero programming knowledge either.

However, I found a temporary band-aid for my ranger. I never use autofire (bow) on ranger because it's inefficient with KA. However, I turned it on because some bow damage is better than none... This is where things get interesting: if the mob is too close to autofire, Autoattack is then turned on and he behaves as normal (including sticking).

I tried this trick on the bard, but it didn't work for him.

After the last patch, KA went from running melee on all of my toons to not attacking on any.

As a workaround a broadcasted /keypress q worked suboptimally, but eventually I just reloaded mq2melee.

Is this a known issue and the patch just made clear some ini or load issue I hadn't experienced as yet?

Quick update.

If I do the /mac kissassist command and start pulling then melee will auto attack like normal.

If I do a Follow Me or Come to Me command melee will stop auto attacking. But will cast and do skills.

I do use mq2nav.

I just got back into RG and MQ2 this last weekend and I assumed I had messed something up during set up. I started a melee group and have had the same problem anytime I used Follow or Come to Me it breaks their brains. Dungeon crawling while leveling consists of //camphere on - Pull (Manual Tank pulling) - Move tank up - //camphere off - Come to me - //end - //mac kissassist - Rinse and repeat until I am at where I want to be.

I'm seeing similar issues. The /camphere works for a work around but they won't melee if not in that mode. They will fire the dps skills though.

Not a solution but have you tried using /chase on to move your group? You could then do /chase off so you could go and pull without them following.

I haven’t yet but will try it. Least solves the dungeon crawling. I haven’t been watching the bard too closely but i think I remember him showing up on the dps meter so that will probably work.

For what it's worth i'm having similar issues, everything was working fine until this latest update on Wednesday though so it might be slightly different from Infest's problem

With UseMQ2Melee=1
- Melee seems to not be working properly, my toons target the mob but do not engage, but the DPS routine of KA is firing and i can see them spamming hotkeys but they do not move in (i'm using mq2melee with stickrange=100)
- My casters are not healing Xtar targets but healing the group fine, although i'm not sure if the caster is even engaging with the mob either (haven't checked its screen yet)

I know MQ2Melee is bad to some, but once it's configured it works well, so i'm not really looking just to be told not to use it lol.

I think it has to do with the now changed ${Me.AssistComplete}.

There should be a few places where that shows up in the macro. If you change the /delay X ${Me.AssistComplete} x value to something smaller, it should behave like it used to until a fix can be found.

Ok had EQBC conflicting with DanNet...killed EQBC and now with everything fully setup it SEEMS to be working correctly now...need to test more to find out what may still be asleep.

If you have UseMQ2Melee=1 in you ini file. Then when you enter the combat routine, all kiss does is get you a target and uses the /kill(MQ2Melee command) to start attacking. All the movement/sticking to the mob is controlled by MQ2Melee. I wonder if some setting in MQ2melee has changed or needs to be reset.
