I don't want to butt in :P

But it is recommended that the source is posted. Otherwise, NotAddicted will end up in MQ2 jail. It's just politically correct.

Source zipfile is still uploading.. attachments window still open. It has crashed uploading the source file twice now. :(

Then never mind me :) I spoke too soon!

Red cent to you, thanks for contributing. It's nice to see the boards still active with compilers.

Says Macroquest2.exe is no valid win32 application and refuses to start for me at all.

Anyone else having the same problem?? I just checked my zipfile contents and macroquest is running for me.

Hey, could you pls explain to me why your compile is loading at least 2 plugins, which I dont have in my mq2 ini file setup to be loaded and doesnt load certain plugins I want to be loaded?????

I am not happy with your compile doing what it/you want and not what I did setup.

Crystane.

Hmmm its getting more and more curious,

both vanilla compiles are loading up mq2irc and mq2slave hardcoded.
So I deleted those plugins out of my macroquest folder.
Surprise surprise, new start of macroquest and again those 2 plugins are loaded and initialized.
Anyone able to tell me whats going on???

Crystane.

Edit the Macroquest.ini file and start/stop the plugins you want to use. That has always been the norm when using this stuff. And I must say I am surprised at the difficulty you are having.

The section you are looking for is something like this:
[Plugins]
mq2itemdisplay=mq2itemdisplay
mq2custombinds=mq2custombinds
mq2fps=mq2fps
mq2map=mq2map
mq2bzsrch=mq2bzsrch
mq2eqbugfix=mq2eqbugfix
mq2addicts=mq2addicts
mq2bardswap=mq2bardswap
mq2cast=mq2cast
mq2exchange=mq2exchange
mq2moveutils=mq2moveutils
mq2spellsearch=mq2spellsearch
mq2autoskills=mq2autoskills
mq2rwarp=mq2rwarp
mq2pax=mq2pax
mq2piggyzone=mq2piggyzone
mq2winxp=mq2winxp
mq2chatwnd=mq2chatwnd
mq2melee=mq2melee
mq2timestamp=mq2timestamp
mq2twist=mq2twist
mq2hud=mq2hud

Remove or add the plugins you want to run using the same format...

Hey Lokista,

the plugin section and how to add/remove plugins the normal way isnt my problem. I know how that goes.

My current concern is that with starting the macroquest exe and haveing NO plugin setup within macroquest ini to be started at all. Then I expect to load macroquest clean and stripped, expecting a message within eq chatwindow. MQ2 loaded/started.

What I get is MQ2 loaded/started and then it tells me MQ2IRC started, MQ2slave initializing, mq2slave initialized. So I ask how can this happen without these plugins in my freaking folder at all. Where does macroquest take these from to load em??? And why does it try to load em at all, when macroquest ini should tell to load not a single plugin atm???

Crystane.

I suspect multiple MQ2 directories then. Are you using a shortcut to start MQ2? If so, check the target properties on the shortcut and make sure you are running from the correct location.

To the best of my knowledge, there is NO way to automatically load plugins (especially ones that are not native to MQ2 ie: mq2slave) without putting them in the macroquest.ini file. Further more, /plugin mq2slave unload would also resolve the issue if your still having problems.

Ok you re not talking with me about the concern, so I ll just stop trusting any vanillas here. MMOs compile doesnt do any kinky stuff like I see on the vanilla compiles to me. Guess now after patch I ll wait for JMOs or MMO compile before I use MQ again, period. And for all others, try loading Everquest first. Also remove all plugins from macroquest ini, then start macroquest and keep a lookout on your chatwindows for any additional messages beside "MQ2 loaded."
Anything additional beside that will indicate pirate like behaviour of the compile.

Just one thing, I see both vanillas doing things I dont expect, so I dont think you Lokista or Alez are responsible for it. Just a headsup all, stay on your toes and keep a lookout not to trust all and everything.

Crystane.

Lokista, where is the source for the additional plugins that you have included? Your project file has links to them, but you did not include the source. I downloaded your source to investigate Crystane's findings.

FYI, Crystane is not new to the MQ2 ...

/sigh.. My upload on the source file failed several times before I finally got it to finish without crashing.

I have again compiled a new compile today.. and am in the middle of uploading it only to have the same problem again. It attached the compile just fine. But trying to attach the source zipfile seems to time out or something. I get
