So I’ve been up and running on Riz for almost a week now an approaching mid 50’s with my first 6 box. Enjoying the server a lot. I’ve never gone above 8 active chars before but toying around with the idea of going to 12 or possible 18 if I can actually accomplish anything useful raid wise. just not sure anything sub 30 is worthwhile.

For example when OoW is up could 18 maybe go back and gear up in time? The raid gear is still better than group gear in Omens era. I’d say Qvic gear but access probably would be an issue.

Or looking ahead I remember there were a few small events in DoN that could be done. I also remember Shyra being doable while the gear was still good (cutural) for tanks.

Just wondering if there Is any point of going above 6box if it’s sub 30 force?
 
Yes a 12 or 18 man can kill bosses 1 expansion back. In omens you'd be able to kill stuff like yxtta bosses, ikkinz raid trials, possibly some of the MPG raids, as well as 2.0 fights.

Unless you're absolutely committed to running solo, I'd recommend joining a guild to get your progression done. Most guilds I'm aware of are fine with flagging non-raiding members. If you really don't wanna, several of the big boxers sell flags.

Makes sense and more or less what I expected. I Saw a lot of people runing 12-18 and I was trying to understand what they accomplished. I'm still getting the lay of the land but it seems like the real thing to do is to team up with another 18 boxer or big box guild so to speak to make real progress. Which is sort of what I expected but was trying to figure out if you are going above 6 it seems like you need to go to 30 or so to have nay chance of success for real progress - not a whole lot of in between.
 
24 is fully functional for those timeframes. 2 18 boxers can do some damage as well. Tough to get through p1 of time with just 18 level 70s, too.
 
Two full groups with the right classes can do just about anything, the fights just last a little longer.

So that's interesting - power, even on TLP - is so much higher than when the content was released. When you say that what's the context? I know for example Nagy/vox and some of the kuark targets are easier but I have a hard time seeing 18 do like riiukkin in DoN at level 70. Or maybe they can?

Not familiar with the TLP servers. I was just talking in General on Test Server.
 
I would do yarlir and Rikki when don was relevant with 18

Thats’s sort of why I started kicking the idea around Of doing 18. I’m thinking shyra would doable with DODH also at 18.

Was it doable without the tanks raid geared? Thinking if I have 3 warriors though I could cycle defensive to do it.

The tanks being raid geared is a real limiting factor. You are only as strong as your tanks.
 
I think running 3 warriors in an 18 man is really going to hurt your dps. Maybe a war and a pally for rampage.
Between my friend and I, we run 24 with 2 warriors and a paladin. We find ourselves needing another tank for most PoP progression.
 
Cycling tanks is never going to work well as a boxer. 3 Warriors is too many to gear in 18 toons. At 18 toons you want two tanks max. One warrior that doesn’t die is your answer.
 
I had 2 warriors and a sk, they were raid geared up to the dodh expansion. My sk could tank feratha easy but was struggling on shyra

Yeah it seems like 24 is sort of the break even point to be effective in some ways on the easier stuff. Was speaking to a few folks on the server this week who run that and it seems like 24 gives fleixiblity on easier stuff like PoTime p1 etc.. And for the bigger stuff they team up with another 24 Boxer.

Still toying with the idea of potentially doing it b it just not sure I want to deal with it all. Had i started when servers came up maybe - but for now just not sure. I’ll max out the group I took to 65 over last 10 days and then see if I get bored.
 
It’s a slippery slope. I started with 6, wanted a bit more dps and support for farming planes in classic so went to 12. Wasn’t enough to do some of the stuff I wanted in velious so went to 18. Now I’m up to 24 and I think I’m content.

Are you using Entropy to manage 24 or just KA and DanNet/EQBC commands? So with the bonus xp I knocked out 65 this week and 115 aa already (another 115 more or less puts me at max which I‘ll do probably today ).

LDON progression outside of stone isn’t super important so I’ve decided to toy with a 18 And 24 setup on test where I’ve been playing. Going plevel a group up after xp weekend - gear them in full VT gear and see what I can get done with 24 on pop. From there I’ll toy a bit with GoD (mostly gea them up with goats and other muramite). Then guess test omens/don. I have a feeling I’ll find I truly need 30 to get anything done but at least on test I can waste very little time and figure out what my group make-up needs to be And how much to accomplish with smallest group size.

On flip side if I get to 24 and comfortable boxing it - from what I can tell a few guild are setup for 18/24 on Riz. Jut want to make sure i can find some worthwhile stuff to do with whatever group make-up I go. Not so worried about the subscriptions but definitely worried about the time investment - so figure I’ll bypass it on test and see how it goes.

I run 12-14 and with 12 i can do all of luclin except aten blobs and emp. with 14 i can do several fire and water minis but not all of them. i can also do all 4 earth rings but not the poeb flag guy. and i can do the first 3 poeb minis. I can also do all the trials in time p1. all of these take a long time to do because i basically heal everything to death.

I know 14 is a weird number but i dont want to go to 18 and i had 12 + 2 bazaar accounts so i made clerics on my bazaar accounts which let me hang in fights long enough to kill most things. they have minimal aa and gear and i only log them in to do hard stuff and log them back off to bazaar in the mean time.

Im sure when god is out i can do all the flagging group stuff and do the goats after my main has some gear from raids Im pretty sure If i pled up some rangers on my dps accounts I could do cbq as well. In oow i can do all of the 2.0 fights and coa aug runs.

So this is helpful in a big way. I’ve been back on test setting up a 30 box group (was 24 but then went one more and may go 36). To save sometime I’m gearing them up in a mix of VT/pop gear. Just to get the group up quickly and then my goal is to see what I can do from POP forward (I’ll probably do lower tier events as practice and making sure some of the elementals I can figure out (rather might not work with so few though I’m thinking that will need 42 so I‘ll likely bring up another 2 groups after I get started. I know 30-36 should be fine for say Luclin and earlier but I’m curious how far I can go moving forward and how big do I need to grow to. I.e. tacvi/anguish do I have to go all the way to 42 or so? Or can I make an optimal 36 team work.

Fun to toy with - easy to gear up since I have so many 115’s across 6 other accounts ( separate from these ). And lets me setup, tweak my approach before I do it on a tlp server.

interesting to see you go so much done in Lublin with 14 though.

i didnt mean uqua when i said flagging events. i ment the group content stuff and bic up to the raids. get my alts flagged through guild raids then do goats.

i didnt do luclin in era like that. it was during pop but 1 expac back and some of the current is pretty good with 12. also one of my characters has raid gear its not my tank so i have an easier time on dps and i can use guild raids to get flags for my alts so i dont have to flag myself. i couldnt do minis for ele gear if i had to flag my own toons.
 
I run 18 with just mule, eqbc, cwtn plugs .... i have been able to do quite a bit everything minus emp Nd vt in luclin... solo'd my way through T1/T2 pop flags. i deffinatly have times i wish i had 24 specifically for dps and to speed things up but 18 will get u far, i am glad I made the jump from 12 to 18.

6 players is all I have ever needed, can be online or offline, no mercs. Not sure the online/offline would work on TLP though

You could always ask one of the raid recruiters and see what they say
 
Only one or two are straight forward tank and spanks. I think War March of Omul Ijun and one of the Everfrost ones. They drop 115ish HME gear with Slot 3s.

The rest are overtuned and mechanic heavy. While not impossible to say, balance some mobs, it certainly is a lot trickier than entry tier PoP stuff.

And some of those AEs are brutal.
 
Those of you with so many accounts - do you go gold with all as well? Or is it feasible to have like 12 gold and a bunch of f2p?
