Question - Just downloaded the launcher... need help getting started

and i watched the video, and to be honest i dont understand what all of it means or how to load it, im just looking for a basic tool to assist with spell and disc clicking

If you haven't any previous experience with Macroquest.. there is a fairly serious learning curve to getting started. It's worth the effort. But it's not the kind of thing you download and start using right away. It's all fairly complex, there are a lot of elements that make up the Red Guides version of MQ. It took me a couple of weeks to really get up and running when I started and that's with years of prior experience with MQ. So, just take it slow, watch videos, read up on the various plugins and enjoy. It'll come! If you've got specific questions, you'll get a better response..

damn....so u basically have to write the program from scratch, i downloaded it and and followed the pugin download part but i dont see where im soppose to go from there, beyond that i dont even know where to go from there.

Uh... no. Don't know how you took that from what I said. Yes, you can program pretty much anything with MQ, but with RG it's pretty much all done for you already. You may not ever need to write a line of code. But it does take a while to figure it all out.

So go through an watch that. then DL the launcher, and watch while doing steps. pause and replay if something doesnt go right. if its being very stubborn come here (or to discord) and ask. EnG is correct, its not click and go, however, it doesnt take any highly special knowledge or skills. EQ is complicated, MQ is therefore complicated. small bites, pausing to get a cup of coffee, beer, go on vacation. I've been here for about 3 years now, and learn new stuff all the time. It is a great community, and many many people are willing to help.

Once you have an idea of how things work, you'll want to look into some automation options. Check out Kissassist Beginners Guide, Kissassist Commands , RGmercs, and especially cwtn plugins ( you can also /testcopy your toons and use the cwtn plugins there for free and you'll want to spend some time looking at CWTN Plugins Explained.).

I suggest getting your feet wet slowly and be patient as it takes time to absorb all this information. Try taking your toons somewhere safe and lower level at first and explore the automation options. It takes some time to get used to, so don't be surprised it if feels overwhelming at first.

Once you feel like your're getting the hang of it (or to get a more in depth idea of what this site can do), then check out the plugins, macros, and lua's available to complement your automation. Things like MQ2pluginmanager, buttonmaster, mq2autogroup, MQ2Autoaccept, MQ2Status, GuildClicky, Boxhud, and more. You'll also want to see Lua event manager.

How do you get to see and experience all of this you ask? You need to be a level 2 member. To do that you have 2 options. First, you can subscribe (paid method) or second, you can use Red Cents. What the heck is a Red Cent you ask? Red Cents can you help with your subscription and it's the currency this site uses. Contribute helpful information (post here) and others will give you red cents and each red cent you give others returns one to you. check it out! Red Cents

Macroquest is a program that works to execute macros, Lua, and plugins to achieve automation and other helpful tools within EQ. First is download and install MQ. Next thing you should do is visit the various sections at the top of the forums to see what scripts will work for what you need. I would recommend watching all the videos and guides posted from various members that have posted for you already.

By learning curve, just meaning that it's not a "2 clicks and it just works" sort of thing. You don't have to program things or even know programming language to use the tools. But when you have a community such as this one where it's a collaboration of many people to achieve the goals you are trying to achieve, it does take a bit of patience and time to sort of learn how everything fits together.

Do not fret! You will be okay. Just watch one video at a time, and read one tutorial at a time. You'll do fine.
