been hearing a lot about it, and reading up on it today it looks pretty crazy deep. like 90+ heroes to choose from, etc...
the thing i hated about warcraft (and starcraft, or any RTS for that matter) is the whole "start with one peon" every time you play. i hate building a barracks to build a lumber mill to build a farm to build a steakknife to jam in my eyes over and over and over and over and THAT'S ENGAGING GAMEPLAY FOLKS!
i used to play WC3 with my roommates in america, but i'd be the fucker out killing creeps while obsessive compulsive billy handled the building of the town and upgrading of units.
DotA sounds much more fast paced and actual combat focused, even if your hero does start every level at 1 again and again.
i never had a valid install of WC3 though, as i'd play in some hackabilly network tunnel, avoiding battlenet completely... (kapachi? hamachi? i forget)
i see these are up for purchase and DL direct from blizz now for 20 bucks each (wc3 20 + Frozen throne 20). is 40 bucks worth it to check out DotA, or will i play it once and hate it?
