Has anyone successfully macro'd this? I want to gear up a lvl 85 heroic with some raid gear, and this seems like the only reasonable way forward with that.

I think someone posted one on forums here or somewhere else, it shouldn't be hard to write something for a monk to click the bolts or whatever. Then another group kills the adds/moves the carts should be able to do with just group setup and you doing manual cart stuff

Has been so long :-/

Been thinking of writing a few more like the hatchery macro. I've never run this raid myself and know nothing about it. Is it something that is solo-able with a 85 heroic? I'll do a bit of googling tonight and see if I can track it down to try it manually.

Not soloable for a heroic, but I have two groups of 105/110s available to work on it. I just don't know the mechanics and if the clicking/carts bit would be too slow to work.

with the emotes...hiding around the corner...the carts...i dont see it happening.

If the raid is giving you emotes before you need to do something that is easy enough to program around. Such as the bots hear an emote and need to immediately get somewhere.. ezpz. Their reactions would be faster than any players depending on how you wrote your delays. Most likely you'd need a main character to orchestrate with a primary macro telling everyone else what to do on the various stages. That could all be fully automated with enough knowledge of the event. The most time consuming part would be gathering all the required data. You'd need to go around and get all the X/Y/Z's for instance for each activity we needed to do. You'd need names of things they need to interact with as well such as the cart you mentioned.

This raid is one of the most difficult ones to box due to the complexity of needing to do four things at once (move three carts + tank the boss).

I've beat it enough times for flags & that's it. I usually skip this raid and do Sarith on my toons to get new guys flagged instead of repeating Argath due to how annoying the mechanics are. I can't see the raid being fully automated unlike as TheDroidUrLooking for said, someone sits down and spends all the time required to gather the data (would take weeks of trial and error testing a macro). Most people would find it easier to automate some parts of it & do the rest by hand.

Anyway, there's apparently a way to "cheese" the raid in which you can do it with just 6 people, one has to be a monk for feign death. That's all I know about it sadly, I try to avoid cheesing raids when i do them.

I can answer specific questions about how I did the entire raid if you need me to; this is one of few raids I never did without a friend so I might as well toss that out there too. Usually one of us focused on the boss + adds and one of us moved the carts/did the other crap. I don't have time to type up my entire strategy/sit here and remember it all sadly or I would just type it out. Works had be busy these past few weeks.

What Almar said.... If you have enough flagged toons to just do Sarith do that... Though, if you are planning on keeping the heroic at 85 for other reasons...that won't do you any good sadly.
Maybe some convorteum drops be easier for 85 , first event should be cake. Just will need a requester as all the flag for entering removed AFAIK

Yea, at this point I may just crush some Tier 2 HoT raids and call it a day. The 12 toons I'd be pulling in to do that should be able to cheese most of those raids relatively easily... at least the two I'd expect to be doing.

With that said, I'd welcome advice for that one, as well! Although, I suspect they wouldn't be that bad at lvl 110 and 105 considering I think people were already one grouping them at 100.

Most of the HoT raids are pretty easy, except the very first one that gets you flagged for most of the future ones =P

The one that takes place in feerrott requires you to tank a lizard in i think 4 pyramids, maybe 5 and they can't be pulled out of those pyramids or they port back to them... or they may go hulk mode when you pull out of the pyramids, I forget, but I do remember them leaving the pyramids is bad. The raid could easily be macro'd but you'd need a few tanks to do it and a few healers.

Tick tock is easy for HoT, so is grounds but Erudin Burning is another pita. My friends did Erudin burning by inviting 10 guildies to help with the mechanics, I wasnt there though/didnt do it though.

If you can get past feerrott basically the rest of the raids (aside from erudin burning) should be easy for you.

I just started over on a new server this return but I do have a few 105s on FV I could use for testing. The last time I raided any content in EQ was during OoW though. So I don't know any of the newer raids. I'd need someone to show me what needs to be done or point me to some good videos to watch. Most things can be automated it is just how much work is everyone willing to put in.

You're pretty much spot on with the ferrott raid. It was a PITA when it was current. I have a few toons I raided with back when that content was current and have beaten it, so I'm hoping I can just skip it and head right to Tier 2. Not sure how the flagging works (i.e. if just the requester needs to have done all the missions and backwards content, or if ALL participating toons need it). Guess I'll find out.

There's a macro out there for it, not on this website though.

Also this is the best group gear (non-Prestige for 87-90). The 2nd raid might be easier to box, its a straight up burn. As well as the Sarith raid.

All 3 raids have the best non-Prestige gear for 87-90.

I'm trying to keep a heroic pally at 85 in order to help me PL (using the technique @raz discussed). I don't plan on doing it for more toons or otherwise gearing out a bunch of 85s, nor will I level him up to 86+.

Man, I wish there was a way to get to the Sarith raid. Does everyone need the earlier flag(s), or just the requester?

I've been wanting to do this as well and have tried a couple times. It's just to hard solo, but I can keep my tank and dps safe and alive for ever, but just can't get everything done quick enough without a macro. And I have not had the will to macro it... Yet. What am I saying, I'm trying to quit EQ!! LOL

Only the requester needs the flags.

Yes, up until TDS should be unlocked (haven't tested) . Only should need the requester flagged.

It was the year before last around this time RoF unlocked and people could easily go back and get the raid upgrade to shawl aug, just need a requester for the raids.

If you happen to be on bertox, I'd be happy to request any HoT/VoA raid for you.

So I ran into issues with HoT. The requester could get the raid just fine, but not everyone could zone in because they hadn't done the group mission that was also required. So, it appears that while stuff is unlocked for the purposes of seeing certain zones, I think raid flagging and pre-requirements are still things.

May be a specific NPC/instance issue, tried campfire to bypass the NPC?

Have done plane of shadow raid for aug piece drops without issues and basically no chars flagged at all

I got a lvl 85 ranger I leveled out and decked him in HOT T2 raid gear. then I was gonna do a alvl 87 SK in hot T3 (hot upper) raid gear

Did you have enough flagged toons to cheese the lvl 85 in? Or did you find a way to bypass (campfire?)?

I recently decided to give this raid a pop - I'd like to do some T2, which I am now flagged for on all my toons however I haven't attempted to do any yet (if anyone has any tips for Valley or Sarith raid, i'd welcome them. Seem to rememeber the placement of soldiers in valley was an absolute pain in the ass.)

I was running Warrior, Cleric, Bard, Zerker, Monk for my pop at Argath - All Group geared T2 ROS & Max AA's, Warrior cleric bard using Automac and Zerk using IHCZerker. I manually played the Monk.
The AOE in this raid didn't hurt too much, but it sure does tick down your health over time so I found the monk perfect for running around doing the carts because of the self heal mend gives.

I spawned the avatar and left War,cleric, bard,Zerk at him - paid no attention to them for basically the whole raid, just left them sticking to him and popping off any adds that spawned - Occasionally ran back with the monk to refresh Selos Sonata.

I then ran up the ramp, clicking every catapault as I went, looting all the shards from the adds it pops on the monk - iirc you need 6 per cart, so I got 20 just to be safe. Zerk polished the adds almost instantly when they spawned so this was NP.

Next I ran between the 2 bottom carts, Selos sonata and Neshika's Blink helped me get between the 2 carts quickly - Click a shard at one cart, run to the next - rinse and repeat until they are in place at the avatar (Be careful, don't click 6 shards at once. I done this when I first tried the raid and it doesn't work. Click 1 shard and don't click another until the cart is fully stopped or you will just be wasting them)

Once the 2 bottom carts were in place, I ran up to the top of the ramp and jumped onto the water tower and got that in place. Once it poured the water on the avatar and he was open to damage I jumped down and burned him dead with the monk. I never figured out how to get the bard and zerker to do much damage to the avatar due to his placement in the water - you need to be stood on part of the ramp or out of the water to be doing damage. I'm a noob with stick and both bard and zerker kept sticking to his behind and getting themselves in the water - recieving the "you can not see your target" message.

Once I'd downed this once it was very very simple. It takes me about 10 minutes to do and as others have said before, it's perfect for gearing up alts to use as Powerlevelers.

Tried to explain as best I could but I'm not sure how well i've done. I have done this raid probably 50+ times on my own now so if I can give any tips about doing it with just a few toons then please do ask me! :)

Goodlucks!

Is it really that easy? This description makes it sound like the whole thing is pretty cheese anymore. Basically zergable.

The description he gave for how to do the raid is accurate as far as i remember. Just remember to move the two bottom carts into their final place as he said before the top one or it fucks up. I haven't done the raid in over two years so it's probably a billion times easier than what I remember it since we have an extra 5 levels + thousands of AAs and shit.

Also save your burns for after you dump the water from the top cart onto the golem - if you take longer than 2min to kill him after you dump the top cart onto him volcano shits start spawning around the zone which do lots of damage.

If you attempt it do what astrocreep said though, his strategy is A+

I can't look at Alla right now because it's down and it's been a while since I did this raid. Is this the one where the adds are images of the weapons the characters are using? If it is then you can go at the avatar with no weapons just fist and you get not adds at all. Makes it even easier

Yes, it really is. Like I said, 3 chars on auto and manually playing 1 to move the carts then just burn the named down and it's a win. My cleric doesn't drop under 90% mana, it's not a strain at all. :)

Since you aren't even bothering with FD or whatever, I wonder if I could just use the bard to run around and click. Might have to circle back to the main group for heals once in a while, though. I could also use a ranger I suppose, too. I'm still leveling and gearing up a monk, so he's not ready to mend himself yet.

If any of you make progress on this macro, I would be very interested. Just started on live after 8 yrs on EMU and am still getting back into live mechanics. Would be very interested in any level 75-85 raid or group encounter macros.

This must be my issue as I always poured the water first, then the carts and I could never get him past 80%

The line of sight with the water sucks balls, but otherwise this event was as advertised. Go get yourself some twink gear and spells! :)

i have the monk macro that will do the cart placements without aggroing the avatar. takes 3 hours to solo it with the macro, but requires a grp to kill the adds and a monk for the carts. also the flagging is correct for some instances of the raids in HoT. For tick tock you need to have completed the HoT group mission for being able to zone into the tick tock raid, and i believe for the terror raid you need to do the Feerott group mission to be able to zone into it. But for RoF raids only the requester needs the flags all the other stuff has been removed. Havent checked VoA because I never raided it.

Don't bother with the Monk macro unless you're trying to do it by cheesing the event. I did it in about 30 minutes by just zerging it, and it would have been a lot faster had my clicker not died from a slightly-too-high jump off the side of the cliff (oops). Also, line of sight issues abound... getting my toons positioned so that they were doing damage was a pain in the ass. I found /stick 30 to work well, but it took me forever to figure that out.

also unless changed corruption based dots are not mitigated by the boss so sk and nec dots will do massive damage to the boss

I don't use a necro, but I'll have to try harder to get the SK dots loaded up next time.

sorry had to take a break ! I had ran tick tock and got them flagged. tick tock is easy.

My reading of the raid progression is you need to do both T1 raids to get flagged for T2.

So................... if you have the carts in place for too long do they sometimes get "melted" and you have to restart that portion of the event? After doing this successfully once it looks like something changed and I can't get both carts in place and the water dumped before one of the two transport cards get destroyed and I have to redo everything. I dind't see this mechanic the first time around.

Nerf??

edit: nevermind, not a nerf. I was just doing it too slowly. You need to alternate back and forth on the carts in order to get them in place faster. Oops, I guess.
