Going to get back into Live but do not want to spend money on heroics.
So whats your idea's? Or tips that you can provide.
If you know someone who can PL you, http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=5767 is easily the best way to go from 1-75 in little time.
Sorry, i should have been a little more specific. Try and get to about level 20 as the mobs are level based. Once you hit around level 19 your AE spells on your bard will, they finally start landing. Or, you can just melee them all for 1 point of damage and keep rotating targets.
This is good knowledgeI know it doesnt belong in this thread since the post was about starting fresh without access to a high level toon. If your not powerleveling 6 new toons and have access to a 105 toon. Get a Journeyman level 1 tank merc on the 105 toon. Load up that tank merc with every possible 105 buff you can, you can really get by with just a druid or mage ds and a cleric merc hitting with surety. Now get one of the fresh toons in group with the 105 player. Pass the 105 merc to the level 1 Toon, the mercenary changes to whatever level that player is, however it keeps every single 105 buff. So with a lvl 1 toon you now have a tank merc with like 400 pt damage shield. go find some deep red mobs and go to work. i have personally gotten 5 toons to level 40+ within the 1st hour of their existence.

That's a good point I didn't think about. Yeah if they don't have access to Journeyman1 Tank should be able to do it with Apprentice 5. Do Free to Play chars only get a certain Merc level?

I've read about that mission but I tried it only got a few levels seemed slower than just running to a zone and swarming the whole thing then ds
Maybe I've been doing it wrong, but I agree it feels way slower than swarming zones. 2 pulls in Moors, ~6 pulls in bloodfields, ~6 pulls in wall of slaughter, then a few pulls in fort mech and my newbies are lvl 75.
Same here. I do the first few levels in Crescent, then pop over to Moors, then hit CoM or a hotzone, then bloodfields, then WoS, as well. Usually by then I'm low 60's and just group them up with a toon that slaughters stuff AFK until they hit 75-ish and can get into my main fellowship/groups.
What level do you need to be to do this effectively? My main 5 box is all 96-98 and i'm trying to level up a cleric to play with them. I was going to kind of powerlevel traditionally until 59, and then heroic a tank and run them in dragonscale hills. Can i do this at 98 on my SK?
Are you asking if your lvl 98 SK can pull and DS down mobs to PL your newbies? If so, then that is correct. I use a lvl 105 SK for all of the above. Once your newbie hits the appropriate level they can go into your usual group.
Sum, I was more worried about the higher level stuff, people are talking about pulling the whole zone etc. I seem to be having difficulty in doing that. i either accidentally damage half the mobs with riposte or they seem to leash. Is this just talk from another time?

Like Sum1 said, I pull zones in chunks to avoid leashing. Also be mindful of named's around 60+ you 'll get a lot of summoning.
Huge one for mages counts as no one's damage correct.Fennil, those huge Mage DS's dont work like the druid ones do? The Surge line on the druids seem to count as my own damage. I dont seem to be able to break like a 700pt ds on my 100SK.
Those huge ones from the mage work?
Huge one for mages counts as no one's damage correct.
So I've read people doing 60-75 In like an hour. Right now I'm looking 70 and pulls in Plane of Fire and Walls of slaughter isn't giving much. Broke down got a 105 druid made for me to make life easier
Any more tips red community.
Please and thanks!

66-75 - PoFire. Go all the way back to C1 and start pulling the field. There is a way to levitate over to it, and then a path you can follow to get around the raid mobs that charm (if they are up). I think Almar's Guides has instructions on it. Once the field slows down then start pulling all the defenders/guardians/etc behind you. You can easily go to 75 and a couple of thousand AAs in PoFire.
Yes I meant C2. Thanks for the correction!
It's actually not hard at all to get to, but a surprising amount of people don't know how to do it (I didn't for years). I'm new to RedGuides so I'll search to see if anyone has written a guide. If not then I'll do it. Here is the short version though.
1. On the map below go to 0, 1000 with lev and invis. Go as far up the zone wall as you can.
2. Point your head straight up (or hold down page up if in 3rd person view) and run across to the parapet just SW of you.
3. Go down the stairs and across to the other parapet, but before going into the field stop to see if the birds that charm are up
3a. If they are up then as SOON as you step out, turn right and hug the parapet wall until you get to the zone wall.
3b. I've only had them catch me once. If they do catch you it's annoying because they'll charm you but not kill you. There is a trick, though: Just keep /q and logging back in. For some reason that eventually breaks charm and they'll kill you.
5. Follow the zone wall up and around till you get to the castle. Be careful in the field and when entering the castle since some of the mobs see invis
I always use PoFire to level from 65-75 and the castle is rarely camped. If it is then you can usually negotiate with the other person so that they pull the castle and you pull the field or vice versa. I've spent countless hours there on two servers and have only encountered one ***hole who trained me so that he could pull the whole field and all of the castle to PL an alt. It didn't take him long lol, so he was gone after a few hours.
While it's not COMMON to see people back there, a lot of people will come through farming or even just leveling. I wouldn't risk going AFK there. If you're willing to be at keyboard, though, then the xp is insane.
Final tip: Most people just camp the entrance to the castle. It's a good spot but it gets a fair amount of traffic. It's pretty common to have people accidentally train you. A much better spot is in the room that at the very bottom and middle of the map. It has "Up" in the lower right corner. There are mobs all around the room but they have a tiny agro radius. You can sit in the middle and pull them 1 or 2 at a time. Also, there are quite a few mobs upstairs, so if someone moves into the castle then you still have pulls. Most power levelers don't even pull it, so if they see you in that room they'll usually leave you alone.
