For some reason Grovespeaker Lydora will not talk to one of my toons (Erudite /Sol Ro/ WIZ)

His faction looks like this upon log in for the first time:

She will talk to all of my other toons and their faction is nuetral and looks like this:

I haven't done anything on the toon other than log in, zone to Scarred Grove and try to talk to Lydora. No issues on any of my other toons.

Any ideas on what could be wrong or if there is a fix?

I ran into same issue, couldn't get any of the quests on any toon, so I went elsewhere.

I assumed just dbg bug

Get your faction up higher

But the question is how do I have an offset faction when this is literally the first time even logging into the game? I have done no quests, killed no mobs or done anything to incur faction of any kind yet somehow it is Amiable.

None of the other toons are like that, they are all neutral. Just on this one.

Grind mobs that gives faction for the side you want and do the quests. Repeat and do the other side quests when done with the chain.

They did this in EQ2 at one point if i remember correctly.

Would you recommend going through full Good progression and then grinding faction and doing the Evil progression or switching back and forth as you advance?

Ran into an issue when trying to run the merc and partisan quests in Scarred Grove (SoR). The quests require amiable faction with either the good or (in my case) evil side. But it also seems that the quest givers require you to 'prove your dedication', which appears to be based on credit for a certain number of kills of the opposing side, independent of faction.

What I encountered is specific to my two rogues. Even though they conned warmly to the quest giver (Lieutenant Lunk, Commander Roknik) I was not able to request some quests on these chars (getting the 'prove your dedication' response). What I speculate is that these were running MQ2Rogue with UseHideSneak ON. Meaning they were possibly SoS during combat when some of the opposition were killed, giving them fewer credits than the rest of the team. When I turned off UseHideSneak and killed a few more defenders I was finally able to request the quests.

Not sure if my speculation is off-base, or if this was just a random count thing, but if you encounter the same problem it likely isn't because your faction is bugged, which I thought might be the case.

It's going to be a grind no matter which way you do it but I've always found it's easier to do one side all of the way and then switching.

in eok illusions and thurgb faction necks worked. you could try that for your faction woes in sor. i dont know for sure how it breaks down in sor but in don and eok the two most recent factions that are influenced by race + diety good + good makes you 50% through indif in the good faction good neutral makes you 25% into indif and neut neut makes you high apprhensive to both. evil evil would be 50% through indif in evil and evil neutral would be 25% into indif.

i want to say that if you worshiped tunare even with a dark elf illusion the burnyai in eok did not like you until you did some grinding. i would assume sol ro rz and tunare / mm would give larger then normal faction changes in this expac and ops picture basically confirms that. his sol ro wiz is higher then his other toons by a large margin.

Hi. So I'm in a bit of a bind that some of you may also be in. My box collection is a mixture of good and evil classes and races. This presents a bit of a problem in trying to get Mercenary and partisan missions. Obviously I'd like to get the mall from one side, but that's not possible with an SK tank And a high Elf cleric in the group. Guildees recommended factioning, but that's taking too long. Do I have any other alternatives or do I just have to split my partisan work and do all six missions?

I was in a similar situation with my group of toons, but it only took killing maybe 10 mobs to switch to the faction that I was trying to get done. Which toook maybe 20min to do.

i went to the north of the zone and killed until i max'd ally with the evil dudes - did this for my whole team because of the same issue

my rogue was ally in faction window but one of the mobs wouldn't respond to it unless i put on an illusion

Which mobs? I killed around Rallos and Solusek and got tiny bumps

Basically any of the mobs around Rallos camp. But in typical unfair fashion you only get +10 faction for killing an evil mob while you get -50 faction for killing a good mob.

So a HUGE hit if you backstab your own people basically. I suspect it is the same with Evil in reverse but I dont know, I have only done the faction upward on good so far.
