Long time Redguides fan here, usually a information lurker as most things are answered with search

I just wanted to know if i could get away with a 3 pet setup with current cwtn plugins...

I know about the need of a tank and 3 trinity set up, but im just a filthy casual with plans on leveling slowly not really min maxing xp per hour, just have fun.

I was thinking mage, bst, shaman(would of been necro my fav, but not here yet)

Thanks for all the help in advanced.

As a change of pace, I have a 3 mage group right now and having fun with it...I say go for it. The 116 mage pet with with em29 focus is a beast. I do have a sk to pull for the group so singles / doubles are easy. Necro could do that also.

That's a good combo. Shaman will be a little squishy on healing until late 100's...but mage earth pet should let you work through till the shaman gets there.

Mage, Beast, shaman should work. Might need to be a bit patient at lower levels until the beast mana regen and shaman healing kicks into higher gear. Might also need to be careful with pulls.

Just some ramblings while having my morning coffee.

You're going to want a bard.
I like mage - pick either mage or beastlord, or run 4

Thanks for all the insight and things to consider i havent previously thought about...
atm my tiny brain can only let me do 3, so i might add a bard and try it out. Im super new at all this

I think I'd sub in an enchanter to replace the shaman. Cleric merc does pretty well even at high levels and you would have the option of using 2 or 3 for really tough mobs.

I thought really hard about that as well... I might have to bite the bullet and 4box after all... i do like enchanters. Is the charm any viable or just an experiamental thing

I use a chanter in my group and I have no complaints. It may be the level difference but I really enjoy having it in my group more than I did the bard, and mine is a melee group so go figure, play what you like as they say.
I agree with Wyntyr, the charm is unreliable even with dire charm

For what it is worth, the SK has a pet soo technically fits into your group make up goal. You will be 6 boxing in no time once you see the power of VV and how much fun it is.

6 group make up with all pets:
SK
Shm
Enc
Bst
Mag
Nec

Once i get a little more experience with how everything is working, I will definitely give it a shot, thanks!

took me a hours to get all the movement macros set up and converted from eqbc to dannet syntax. I was doing it the hard way at first... manually in eq socials... instead of just editing the config.ini for my toon and using notepad++. stupid mistake on my part.

sk has a pet, and personally i wouldn't consider my 3 suggestions as the best "team" i would pick a war over a sk any day. i have both and would never play a sk
You sir make very valid points, I can't disagree with you. sk and enchanter def next on my list.

@rgazoh tip for using mage as main tank. I have one button that cycles x target and tells pet to attack. Its helps with multiple mobs. I use mage, bard and cleric. This is not a group to take on hard missions and you have to be choosy about named mobs, but it works. I use kiss on cleric manual for bard and i keep mage on pause mostly. The key to my group is the single pulls provided by the bard and saving abilities for when it hits the fan. My bard reduces cast timers for mage and cleric while reducing hate. My 3 with 2 caster and 1 heal merc can do darkness in gmm with water pet tanking. The cleric is probably why i get away with it.

How is your war at keeping up hate on multiple mobs? say if mage was using rain.

Honestly, I was thinking

Necro (vs Enchanter, 1. pet EM earring, 2. same level dps pet as PC, 3. can pull/control Undead Mobs REALLY well + root/FD/kite live mobs)
BL (tank pet/dps pet as you decide with buffs, plus he slows and provides pet heals and shaman type buffs for the group)
MAG (coth + variety of pets + heals for pet and buffs for swarm pets/main pet...

and finally they ALL can wear pet EM earring for benefits! run 3 Merc Healers and TRULY ENJOY the PET CLASSES!

Just my two [red] cents.

Thanks for the tips, these are the things I love to hear. Experience shared with a noob like me =)

Good Idea, I might do this on my next go around. The best thing about eq nowadays is you can play so many different ways and it still takes years to see everything the game has to offer. I still go back to rathe mountains sometimes just for nostalgia.
