So I've been using a combination of KA and various CWTN plugins for about 6 months now and it's been wonderful! There's been quite a learning curve as I worked to get up to speed on how and why to edit my ini's to achieve the results I wanted. While I'm by NO MEANS an expert, I have been able to help a few friends and guildies get up and running as well. So a very sincere thanks to everyone that has helped make KA what it is today!

I did have a couple observations and requests that I believe will make the tool even better than it is today. First let me describe my setup...as that will lead into the nature of my requests. I currently have 12 accounts. I typically have 2 full groups up and running at any given time...sometimes 3 or even 4 as needs arise. There ARE time where I'll set up a full group please 1 or 2 additional support characters at a good camp location. Usually the out of group characters are already max level and max AAs. Most often this is my cleric and my enchanter. As we all know, the [Heals] section of the ini files has an entry:

INI:
XTarHealList=2|3|4|5|6|7|8

And this works very nicely to support out of group characters. Would it be possible to add similar support for BUFFS?!? Something akin to:

INI:
XTarBuffList=2|3|4|5|6|7|8
XTarBuffs=Gem2|Gem4|Gem5

This way both in group AND out of group toons could get buffs. There might very well be better implementation options, this is just one that came to mind. The bottom-line goal is to get buffs to out-of-group members.

Next! Performance. As I run KA on some toons and the CWTN plugins on a few others, I see them next to each other every day. One of the really nice things about the CWTN plugins is how responsive they are. As soon as a mob gets within the pre-set range of the toon, he/she jumps into action. With KA and other macros, the response is quite a bit slower. And, in cases where I have a DPS toon out of group...by the time that toon responds, the mob is already between 75% and 50% health. Now, I understand that the plugins are compiled DLLs and that KA is after all a macro. But, has there ever been any thought given to porting KA over to C++ or C# and compiling it? Or...are there thing you can tune within the macro itself for it to be more responsive??

Thanks for the consideration!

Kak

CWTN has an advantage because the plugins are specifically coded to automate a single class and do so with very little customization. Kissassist has to be coded to be general to all classes and accept a wide range of possible input settings and customization in .ini form. Never gonna close that gap. CWTN plays your character the way CWTN thinks your class should be played, KA will let you make whatever specific edge case use you want, no matter how un-optimized or malformed your ini might be.

I haven't used CWTN plugins, however I did try the Mage one when it first came out for about 15 minutes. I love KissAssist. You can set it up any way you want. The options are pretty much endless. There really isn't anything I can't make my toons or group do using it. It's all in your style and preference.

You might want to look at muleassist. I don't use mule much myself and not any experience in kiss, but mule does support Buffs3=Flameshield of Ro|melee|class|enc|OOG:raid,Lemons, xtarget1 for xtarget buffs or just the name or even a range around you.

I could have sworn buffs worked with healers...

Your idea is interesting.

With DanNetOn, kiss will buff oog toons with or without the macro running on those toons. Otherwise it tries to use that dumb file and requires the macro to be running on all toons who want buffs.

Does that mean by turning DanNetOn I can setup toon not running MQ2 to get buffs OOG? For instance my buddy and his wife game with me, I want to have my OOG mage keep DS on them. Will this accomplish that?

The buff begging is so wonky with Kiss Assist. You'll want to do Mule Assist if thats your thing.

In Kiss Assist, what you can easily do is /say "Buffs Please!" on all your toons. Anyone running Kiss Assist will automatically add the toons to your list - its all "TBManager" or Too Buff Manager. It will run your conditions against the names of the toons doing "Buffs Please!". Its manageable. Criteria is basically:
-in guild
-on friends list
-in same raid
-in same expedition

@Yostin Just make sure the OOG characters are in your guild or on your friends list. Otherwise they will be ignored for any kind of buff begging. Buff begging in kissAssist is setup for all characters to be running kissassist including the characters begging for buffs.
