CroakWatch

Release CroakWatch (3 Viewers) v1.40

No permission to download
Observation: autodetect PH is adding non-PH mobs to list

Setup: Labyrinth of Spite, Chirid / Coagulation / Mite area.
Example: Chirid has specific placeholder "a governess of spite", which I manually added.
Issue: During play, other mobs are being added to the PH list for Chirid (e.g., a hateful spiter, an envious vessel).

Thank you!

Hey Red, awesome release.

Maybe I am getting old, but is there any way to have the audio notification for a spawn, trigger only when it's a mob in your filtered NEED list?

Right now it notifies me anytime a named spawn, but I really only care about the Needed ones.

Thanks to you for trying it out ! I don;t play there, so hard to know, are they roaming mobs over the named/ph spot? If you camp this guy a bit, see if the learning spawn starts reading it properly and no longer marking other than the PH purely. In my testing roaming guys caused lots of probs, but the script did weed some out over time. I don;t have ToB access to check, but I'll see what I can do. Would appreciate if you get any further camping there. Thank you so much for posting!

Setsuni, yes! Sorta.
Use your list and click a name (or the filters by Need), then click name of mob so more info appears in the sidebar.
In the sidebar you will see 'Hide' button. Once hidden no alerts will happen. All mobs still being tracked just hidden on the mob list so it will not distract you from what you want, BUT if you want it hidden (no alert) but still want to kill it if it pops, just use the Hidden filter and you can still see it go 'UP' with no alert.

Just to ask do you like the voice announcement or are you getting a little double beep? Lots of EQ mob names sound hilarious in the MS voice..made me laugh a lot during camping stuff.

I couldn't find much on this mob, Alla, nor EqResource does not show a lot, but the PH you named. The map does show 4 spawn points for the Named though, so its not impossible there are more PH, I don;t want to make things up I don;t know.

Thank you for replying.

Not sure I was being clear then... the *only* PHs for "Chirid" are "a governess of spite". There are multiple locations as you point out, but they are all (and only) "a governess of spite". The concern is that other mobs are being added to the PH list as if they were potentially PHs. I'm not suggesting you make stuff up you don't know... it's just that whatever the logic is for auto-adding something to the PH list thinks all of the below listed mobs are potential PHs. Each rare in Shattering of Ro has a specific placeholder (e.g., "Mite" PHs are "a nameless husk").

I reset the PH list for Chirid at start of today's grind to just "a governess of spite"
Roughly five hours later, the PH list is now almost every mob that spawns in the general area.

a governess of spite <- Chirid PH
a spiteful drachnid
a knight of loathing
a lump of spite <- Coagulation of Spite PH
a young spiter
a hateful spiter
a venomous drachnid
a spiter queen
an envious husk
a mage of loathing

I will continue to observe and see if I can provide feedback that is more useful.

Think I have an idea of why its picking those other guys up, I will make some changes and see if it locks it better.

Redfrog updated CroakWatch with a new update entry:

v1.40

v1.40 — Zone Watch: departure alerts

A quick community-requested addition:

  • Zone Watch now tells you when players leave, not just arrive. A quiet console note and a Camp Watch feed entry — no sound, so the intruder alarm keeps its meaning. Great for knowing when camp competition clears out during AFK stretches.
  • Small print: "left the zone" means they vanished from the spawn list — zoned out, camped, or died; the game doesn't say which.
