I think I posted this in the wrong place a few minutes ago. I hope this is the correct spot.
I accidently copied a cleric template over the ini file in MQ2. Oops.
Is there any way to restore the file to its original state? I tried exiting MQ2, logging off, then relaunching RG, relaunching MQ2, but when I right-click MQ2 and open the ini file, sadly I still have the cleric template :-(.
I am hoping there is a relatively simple way to remedy my screw-up, 'cause that is about as high as my skill level reaches --> Simple.
Thanks Tyynee

if you overwrite your stuff and saved it, there's no way to restore that stuff :(

Its usually a good idea to make yourself a copy before messing around with stuff - or even uploading your ini the the ini library

Thank you for the information and advise. Could I perhaps purchase another copy of Redguides, say for a month just to obtain a copy of the original ini file in MQ2? Would that work, and if it would, should I clear all the contents of the in file in MQ2 now? AFTER, of course, making a copy?
Thanks, Tyynee I did know to make back-up copies, and in fact I did make a back-up of my clerics ini file and thought I was copying over that, the clerics ini file, not the MQ2 ini. Oh well, do you think buying another copy of RG would do any good?

I'm sorry Tyynee, I'm not sure I follow you - and its making me question if i followed you to begin with. So my apologies i'm im not helping.

You're a current lvl 2 user - so there's no need to re-sign up for anything at the moment.

what file specifically are you saying you had and is now gone? I was assuming you had a kissassist ini that you liked, but you accidentally over-wrote it using another template.

Anything that out-of-the-box comes with Very Vanilla you could just download with the launcher - or reinstall with the launcher.

if you got an ini file from the library, you could copy that and put that back in place.

if you can give us a little more specifics i'm sure we can help you get sorted out - or at least pointed in the right direction.

Oh Wait, I see that Redbot has posted a copy of the Very Vanilla default ini file. Perhaps I could copy that over the ini file in MQ2 and that would correctly restore the ini values.

you overwrote the macroques.ini?

just delete it, then start up mq2, it should create a new one

The ini file I over-wrote is the one that pops up when you right-click the MQ2 button, and is just above the [profiles] selection.

yeah thats the macroquest.ini file, if you delete it from your folder it should be recreated as new with default settings.

Sorry for the multiple post, no idea how I did that. And I exited MQ2, but the cleric info was still there. Should I opt for the nuclear option?

turn of mq2 entirely
then go to the mq2/release folder, and find macroquest.ini
then delete the file.
