HarmTouchy has set his lecherous sights on Project Lazarus. Spinning up my 6-box crew and bashing my head on the keyboard wanting to play but stuck walking through the optimization and setup checklists. Way more entertaining is navigating the naming policy, if people see your name and it doesn't make them pause, was it even worth it? (Dhay, if you see this be gentle, I'm new!)

Current Offenders:
HarmTouchy (SK) : Main tank. He's got some boundary issues and zero respect for personal space. It was only one sniff.
BearBack (DRU) : Main healer. 90% of the time she wishes wolf form was bear form. What did you think she meant?
BoneArise (NEC) : Off-healer/DPS. Just giving her skeleton some orders one bone at a time.
TwistMyKnobs (BRD) : Miley Cyrus. She tunes her lute with a foam finger.
WizOnYourFace (WIZ) : Face melter. Sometimes she gets overly enthusiastic with the nukes. Watch your face! ;)

I need another class to fill the 6th slot. Currently I'm considering the stream crossed nukes of a second Wizzer? Any recommendations on what would go best with these degens? Kinda considering a knee-capitating Gnome Zerker too.

Bonus points if you fill the blank and slap in a great name to boot!

(Don't steal my names, they're sacred!)

You're going to fall flat without a cleric if this is your first set of toons (and maybe even if not).
If you really insist on skipping one, a MAG is a shoe-in.

Before people report this thread:
- yes we discourage posting toon names just in case of official dbg server overlap
- these names are pretty low on the "official dbg server overlap
- please don't reply with posts of names that are real character names
- if you post a name and official server of someone you get extra sad points

I also vote for Cleric. The common setup on lazarus is cleric + other priest of your choosing (usually shaman for melee groups, druid for caster focused groups). You are going to want that healing power when you get to the custom stuff and things start hitting like trucks while also freeing up DRU/SHM to debuff and dot the mob.

I ran a group very close to that: SK/Clr/Dru/Enc/Wiz/Ranger

The ench pbae stuns + wizards & druids rain spells, made swarm grinding ez mode.

You 100% want a cleric.

Skip the cleric, use a paladin instead.
Name: Actofvalors
Surname: Undeadmobs

Or something related to the best AA in the game. Paladins are basically clerics with some extra perks.

I'd go with a Cleric. It's all fun and games in the low to mid levels and anything can work, but once you start doing the late game stuff you really need a tuned group. Cleric group heals and their radiant cure and whatnot will all get used a lot. Although I never tried a Pally as a healer.

Have to jump on the cleric train if you plan on doing any endgame. Secondary healing and debuffs from a shammy are needed a little. I say a little because I drop my shammy for a third dps on all but the most challenging content, but I didn’t do that until I was end game geared and north of 30k aa’s on all toons. Bards add dps to almost any group and save sanity with bard speed. My A team is sk, cleric, rogue, zerker, bard and shammy unless I swap the shammy for my monk. B team is pally, cleric, bard, necro and wizzie x 2.

Generally on Laz... your first (raiding) group will follow the traditional Tank + 2 healers, Brd/Enc, 2 DPS. This works well to effectively contribute in raids up to end game. Once you have your group fairly well geared/AA, it's common to sub in an additional DPS for one of the healers.

There are many meta builds out there. For example, I use a SK, DRU, ENC, 3 WIZ and can AE farm for an incredible amount of AA/hr. However, that setup may not work as well in other instances. In guild groups, there are folks running a similar group, but they may need other teams to be the main /off tanks since they'll be limited by damage mitigation/healing.

After having been there for a few years, I can say I've seen many class re-balances, often this means having an A and B team, with a few additional toons. That is another reason to not worry too much about your group choices early on... play what feels fun. Once you start raiding, you'll learn how easy it becomes to bring a new toon to 70 with enough AA to contribute.
