So I am hearing rumors of a quest that will show up after the patch this Wednesday and the reward is an item that when you click it then it will point to the nearest collectable.

"we detect a shiny in a fk'd location you can't reach, you're going to fall to your death a few times for this one"

Patch Notes: Collection items in Stratos now spawn on the underside of islands rather than inside them. You're welcome.

hey ive had fun skydiving off the cliffs in that zone - i may have even got a few that way

There's actually very specific jump off points to get to those and they're not that difficult to repeat once you know the right spot. However, the jump of point isn't necessarily the closest point to the actual collectible. 3rd person camera also helps.
