When did your problem start?
Been going on for a while, just never got around to asking
Character Role?
  1. Assist
What class is having this issue?
  1. Cleric
How often does this issue occur?
Always
Can you reproduce the issue?
Yes
When I have KA running on my cleric, she will target the mob and keep trying to heal it. Not very productive if you ask me, and can't get her to stop. Of course the heal keep interrupting, but she is stuck there until either me mob dies, or I manually make her target the tank or whomever is low on health.

Any suggestions?

1. Have you set up autogroup, with group roles (main tank, main assist) in game?
2. Are all your characters connected to Dannet or EQBC?

Was it ever working or are you initially setting it up and it's failing?

1. I have rolls set in group, "Main Assist/Main Tank/Puller"
2. I use EQBC, havent really messed with Dannet.

It has always done this, I just have dealt with it and not bothered to get assistance.

(I am trying to get over my adversity of asking for help)

Since it's KissAssist, I'd go here: https://www.redguides.com/community/resources/categories/kissassist-ini-library.18/?rf[class]=cleric and start looking around. You didn't mention a level, but you can open your cleric's ini file and compare it to an ini in your level range and see what's different. if you are level 110+, I'd use SIC's cleric ini depending on the level you are.

From this link: https://www.redguides.com/docs/projects/kissassist/ I'd check the section labeled " [Heals] Settings"

Don't know if that helps, but its what I've got.

think you need to share your ini for anyone to help you with this

This means you will be trying to heal anything on xtarget besides what is on the first spot. Is your entire group set in your xtar for some reason manually covering spots 2 onwards? If not, turn xtarheal=0

Might try not having xtar heals set to the top of the list, rather start them from 20 and move up. The top of xtar tends to be where mobs show up as autohaters. I usually just do 4 or 5 in slots 16 - 20, as that is usually more than adequate to cover tanks in a raid. Your cleric will automatically cover group heals.

Also, while it wouldn't cause the problem you are asking about, double checking spelling on the spells would be a really good idea (Promised Recouperation, for example)

When I have KA running on my cleric, she will target the mob and keep trying to heal it. Not very productive if you ask me, and can't get her to stop. Of course the heal keep interrupting, but she is stuck there until either me mob dies, or I manually make her target the tank or whomever is low on health.

@GKD1231 I know how to fix that try this
go and watch Lua rgmercs on the resources tab...
then type:
/Lua run rgmercs

There I fixed it for all your toons on every class :)

Youre Welcome Maui GIF

Sounds like the issue is you are using XTarget healing, but don't have your Xtargets set to the characters you want healed. I would turn off XTarget healing and see how it works. @an_image Your not being helpful when it comes to helping someone trying to fix their issues when running Kissassist.

You're right @ctaylor22

@GKD1231 if the above doesn't work turn the below to = 0
TargetSwitchingOn=1

You shouldn't be switching target with the ma out of group if you're just an out of group healer.

I am not healing out of group, but I will try changing the TargetSwitchingOn=1 to =0.

I have also turn off Xtarheal. I will give this a shot today and see how it goes.

Yesterday I tried using RGmercs, it had some good stuff, but not sure I really like it. Got me in trouble a few times, especially with campfires and chase on. It might be better to use in open spaces, I just happen to be doing dungeons yesterday.

This makes sense... Sometimes I do use xtarheal on raids, but I mostly run raids manually.

Yeah, post the ini...

not trying to change the subject horribly, but if you mean the Lua edition, i'd be interested in hearing specifics. pretty sure I turned all that campfire crap off by default but i may have missed a setting. If you get around to DMing me with details or posting elsewhere I would appreciate it.

Targetswitchingon really only applies to the MA in the group. Turning it on for assist characters doesn't matter. If your healing out of group then your MainAssist will be checked for heals as well as your own group members. if you want to heal others that are out of group, then you need to setup XTarget heals. Setting up XTarget heals requires you to assign the characters, you want to heal, to your XTarget entries, BEFORE you start the macro.

I am just learning how to play with and customize the Lua stuff. As I play with it, I am figuring out how to turn on and off things. I quit using it on my cleric all together because it won't let her get on her mount at all. And I can't figure that part out. Kissassist works good for me, so I will probably just use that instead of RGmercs. I only tried the RG mercs because @an_image suggested it.

I tried Lua RGmercs on my emu. I did not like how it performed. I do not remember what was going on, but it was easier going back to Kissassist than figuring it out. Although Kissassist does not work as well on my emu as it did on live. I also had my cleric trying to heal mobs and interrupting non-stop. It made sense once I read this post.

Gents I was careful with my wording because I did NOT want to turn this into a KA vs RGL thread (this thread is about troubleshooting a KA issue). Feel free to contact me elsewhere if you would like to discuss any of your issues, but it sounds like you are happy and I am happy that is the case!

Thank you, I used the suggestions on Kissassist, and everything is working perfectly now... I didn't mean to turn this into a KA vs RGL thread either.
