Hi there. I have been lurking for a while, then subbed for a month and I have some questions.

I watched all the current setting up kissassist videos. Very helpful thank you.

I immediately made 6 FTP accounts, (worried about getting tagged on my subbed ones) and mostly successfuly operated a box crew.

There are some differences now in how kiss looks from the videos, and many of the threads are older so i was unable to determine answers from looking?
  1. On some of the characters, there is a plugins window that I can turn stuff on and off with, and others do not. Do I need to turn on the plugin on all the accounts or just the driver to be active? Do I turn off the plugins on the accounts where it isnt relative? (Ie. MQ2 Cleric shouldnt be on for my mage for example)
  2. The video shows where you can copy/paste .INI files from the library. That made sense...do I go with the lowest .INI if im between files? Ie. I'm 17, and there's a file for 15 and one for 20, I load the 15 because I dont have the spells for 20 yet? (and then re-patch when I hit 20)
  3. Some of the characters (cleric) seem to cast a spell over and over (yaulp) in combat or not.... I can see where this activity might get someone flagged pretty easily. Short of deleting the spell from your book (which I ended up doing) is this normal behavior for kiss? Did I jack up a macro? or miss a setting?
Thank you in advance from the community. I appreciate this resource.

Hi Gabus.

You mention kissassist and plugins which are different so you may want to clarify what you are using on each of the characters. A couple of the comments suggest you are using mq2cleric plugin. In which case make sure to read the FAQ it talks about issues with Yaulp and repeated casts caused due to blocking buffs. The video also covers that piece.

For the 2nd question about ini's. Either way works but yes you'll need to modify it to match the spells you have. Either upgrading the ones from the lower ini or downgrading the ones from the higher level ini.

1. MQ and CWTN plugins are innovative because they are not enabled for class-specific plugins on unrelated characters. So, your MQ2Cleric is not "active" when logged into your Mage instance.

2. Yes. You can also modify those .ini files as you get new spells/songs, etc while leveling. Another suggestion is if you are lower levels, use RGMercs instead. KA is great for fine-tuning at higher levels, and RGMercs is a more encompassing all-in-one solution while leveling. Less hassle.

3. As mentioned, read the FAQ for CWTN plugins. Specifically covers this issue and lower level buff overlaps/conflicts.

Welcome to the community. We are here to help!

Hello Gabus and welcome!

1. It sounds like you are looking at vids showing use of the CWTN plugins, specifically MQ2Cleric. On live servers this is subscription based. They have successfully created all the class plugins where they will check the PC's class to verify if your loaded PC is the correct class to load the class plugin. If not, there will be a feedback msg provided in the MQ window, iirc.

2. Unsure about an answer for this one. I'm guessing go with 20 perhaps so it can use what you have. The CWTN Class Plugins all check for what spells you do have that they use. No worries about trying to use the 20 lvl ini file concerning spells as far as I know.

3. I would follow what Daxchu provided concerning Yaulp.

@Gabus - To help you along your way, I have gifted you 2mos of Level2 Access.
I'm glad to see your initiative in trying to learn and put this all together in short order. Hoping this will help in your journey.

I'd second the RGmercs suggestion by @Shadow, and then move to class plugins after you are more familiar with things. Plugins are where it's at. However, keep in mind that the class plugins won't work if you have multiple PC's instead of running all of your instances on a single PC due to their design and network limitation. So if you have multiple PC's, you could either stick with RGMercs or move to Kiss and work from there.

well, for clarity, the plugins do work, they just don't buff toons who are not local pc

Right. I had that thought in my brain, but I guess it didn't make it into my post. That's what I get for working and trying to juggle in a post. :D

Gabus appears to only have downloaded the test server so they have access to all of the class plugins that have been released at no cost so long as they are using the test build.

Oh wow, such amazing responses.

@ChatWithThisName : You are correct, I have been working on the test server. Maybe thats where some of the confusion has been coming from, I didnt realize i was running CWTN by doing that. :)
@TheFiddler : That is a very kind gift, I apprecate it very much! It sounds like because I have more than just KISS running so I dont need to dowload the INI files, they are active. (or a version of them is)
@Shadow : Thank you for the suggestion to run rgmercs. Sounds like kiss with more guiderails or training wheels. Probably what I need after diving in head first, pull back to the shallow end a little.
@Daxchu : Thanks for that clarification. I didn't realize I was running CWTN which explains why I missed those FAQ's. I appreciate the link.
