Hi all,

I can’t believe it but I think it has been almost 2-years since I logged in to either EQ or RG. I am glad to see the community is still alive and kicking. I will be honest, what jogged my memory was an advertising email that I received the other day from EQ. No, I am not going to ask if it is worth coming back or is the game still actively being played.

I have always enjoyed EQ even over EQ2. It was my first serious MMO back in 1999. For me it will be finding the time. I guess there is always the option to casually play on Test.

Anyway, just wanted to say Hi and scan the forums to see if I see any familiar faces.

You two have definitely been busy beavers. Congratulations on finishing plug-ins for all the classes - it was a hell of an undertaking.

To everyone else,

Thank you for the warm welcome back. Like I said above, I am not sure about how much time I can put back into EQ, but at least I can check the forums on my tablet and keep up with what’s going on. That reminds me, I need to at least renew my level 2. I might also want to check out the store and perhaps see about a new coffee mug.

I have never fooled around with the emulator. Does it run on a private server, or is it stand alone on the client computer?

I vaguely remember a third party project to restore the kunark and pre-kunark experience, but I think the emulator is different, correct?

Both. But easier to play on someone's already setup server. I mention it it because you say about time..with EMU, no cost its free, and depending on the server you choose to play, can just play a bit and leave your guys on at will. Great way to scratch the itch and not consume up tons of time. Emulators have limits, not up to date on all expansions, so if that bugs you, then its there, however, I have found, its a ton of fun. Make accounts on the emulator site eqemulator.org , choose a server (many to try, and jump at will, different setups galore) and go play. Some like MQ, some don't, some have no need for it because of combined classes or skills, some go to only the original 3 expansions, some go higher. I play on Shelter of the Banned, up to DoN, MQ friendly, good people there. In any case, Live, EMU wherever you play, its fun and nice to have you back here at RG.
