For context, I’ve been leveling a group on Test: PAL / CLR / ENC / NEC x3, all running CWTN plugins.
While leveling, I kept my tank reasonably up to date on gear. Around level 100 I started having serious trouble staying alive. I assumed it was just a gear issue, so I kept pushing forward.
By 110 I had the group outfitted with Snowbound armor, Ice Encrusted weapons, and whatever accessories I could find. Things improved a bit and I started working through ToV, but it was rough.
I hit 115 and stepped into CoV… and holy hell, I was getting destroyed. If I pulled two or more mobs, my tank was going down at least once before the enchanter/cleric could stabilize.
That’s when I started noticing my entire group’s HP was dropping consistently, but no group heals were firing.
So I started digging through my settings, and then it hit me. Back around level 90, I had enabled BYOS (Bring Your Own Spells) on my cleric for some unknown reason. That meant my cleric hadn’t memorized a single new heal or buff for the last 25 levels.
I unchecked the box, and it immediately cleared every spell slot and loaded the correct, level appropriate, spells.
Now my group barely dips below 90% HP, and I’m absolutely smashing everything.
Moral of the story: don’t click random settings if you don’t know what they do.
