As the title says...whats the fast track to get this done?

I am assuming you want 325 skill so you can do ROS combines? If so its 325 modified (aka skill+(skill*skillmodifier))

1-50 (Get trophy), then 50-255 Tantalum Barbs (or Vanadium Barbs or Cobalt Barbs).
255-300+max trophy: Tantalum/vanadium/cobalt chain bracer templates.

Eltai's route will only get you to 300.. and lvl your trophy up to max if so desired. bar none the fastest way to get that far..

But in ALL TS's , to get 301-350, you need to learn all discrete recipes.. meaning the first time you experiment and do a recipe, it adds to your learned list, it counts towards increases.. but once its in that list that you can recall /search, it no longer counts... So. that means a LOT of different recipes to learn..

THAT BEING SAID.. you can start that process with a bit of a shortcut by learning ALL you can from TS books..

in the buildings in POK, small bank, and the ones beside it, check ALL the vendors for their TS books, and buy all the ones you have not scribed (Says when you inspect it, in the item description, will be in green text "not scribed" or red "scribed").. then go up to the entrance to the library upstairs in pok, but still outside.. theres that swimming pool outside the library doors.. look left, there are a bunch of 'cultural historians' or w/e their names are.. they all also sell TS books.. go through their lists too..

You will get a decent amount of recipes learned which will boost most of your TS skills up as high as 315.. (not all, but some)..

then starts the arduous task of learning new ones ONE AT A TIME.. eqtraders will be your best friend ..

Unfortunately not a fast process, but the books gets ya part way there quickly..

Hope this helps :)

Oh man, DBG changed the combines for the RoS earring to 325 required skill???

325 modified :) Which is 300 base skill+45 (max trophy)=345. It does not require 325 raw skill.

Pretty much this, but I never do Barbs, I do bracers or gloves as you can sell back the product to recoup some cost. The barbs I believe can't be sold back to a vendor.

Also, I use the +50 trivial to get the least fails. Follow this: http://www.kyros.info/Tradeskills/cultural.htm

So if your current skill is 200, then you want to be making Indium Ore Gloves or Wrists. Then you can sell the wrists or gloves back to recoup some of the costs, since this will be the least amount of fails but still give you skill ups.

At 345 skill the fail rate is about 45% on the RoS stuff.

I'm at about 365-375 in each skill and the fail rate is about 40% with Pottery being the worst fail rate. This is very accurate as I was doing about 250 to 500 combines in each skill using a tradeskill potion along with the combine.mac to determine the exact fail rate.

I am going to assume at 395 it will be about 25% fail rate based on what I've encountered so far.

Exactly why Daybreak jacked up the price on the tradeskill potion by 150%.

I usually do the Tantalum/vanadium barbs as they cost nothing and I have an abundant surplus of these ores vs chasing a constant string of ores that I don't have readily in stock for progressing varieties of templates for ores that don't regularly drop for my groups. Therefore my cost to do barbs from 1-255 on a character is 0 pp. Even if I had a large supply of the other ores already in my inventory, doing templates would still cost me >0 pp to get to 255.

My problem will be that my TS's are all at or above max, but I only have the smithing trophy, so I'd have to go back and do the trophies from 0 with combined that need a trivial above 300. Kinda shitty. Instead, I've tried to find one-off TS mod items to farm. Stuff like the sheers.

Oh good to know, for some reason I thought there was a vendor component to the barbs.

This was nerfed by Ngreth, but you could afk farm Forgotten Halls for ore, silk, pelts pretty easily for all levels if you had the character of the right level to request the task. I used to keep a level 45, 55, 65, and 75 (Forgotten Halls maxes out at 70 level mobs). You can no longer farm any tradeskill items in Forgotten Halls, but it was the best place to afk farm all the ores, silks, pelts you could want, since the mobs respawned in about 30 secs and each instance lasted 6 hours you could have yourself about 2000 of each component in about 24 hours.

Sucks it got nerfed, used it for years for farming tradeskill parts.

This is still awesome for leveling up shrouds, though!
