Question - Best dps class now for 20 second fights

With the recent "nerfs" to dicho and the others, what class is the best dps for group EoK material. 20 secondish kill rate for current group. Gold accounts.

There was no nerf to dicho in group situations. Zerkers still rock in groups, have yet to see how they work for raids.

To be honest. I haven't seen that much of a difference in group content after the "nerfs".

im running SK, cleric, bard Zerk, Zerk, randomtoon here. Zerk still king in my groups

ah ok. i saw the scarlet / dicho nerf talked about but didnt look deep into it yet and was getting ready to add 2 more toons...

From what I have heard the person who coded the zerk dicho was let go, and now they can't undo it's destructive powers. This doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but I'm choosing to believe it because:
1. I play 2 zerks in my group and they destroy everything
2. DB overall has always been pretty dumb/unorganized
3. It's a funny story if true
4. They seem to be trying to nerf zerks but have been unsuccessful every time

Either way they're trying to nerf it so don't go making 8 zerks thinking it's going to last. What I imagine they will do is up the dps of rogues/monks/bst to even it out a bit... who knows.

I run zerker wiz ranger bst war and cleric....zerker is first and ranger as second followed by war 2handed /wiz (sometimes wiz is first depending on its CDs)..

the nerf was on twincasting dicho with ranger's scarlet cheetah...that was really op on nameds zerker and rangers getting up to 500k dps

You know I love these types of questions because they are always based on opinion, gear, level, playstyle and mob type.

Are you looking for a single 20 sec fight?
A series of 20 sec fights with time (30 sec, 60 sec, 90 sec, etc.) in between combats?
A series of 20 sec back to back fights foe a short time (15 min, 30 min)?
Or A series of 20 sec fights, back to back, for a very long duration (3+hours for example)?

What type of "support" would this toon have? Will ther be a toon or 2 hat can give buffs to regen mana or end?
What type of gear will you be equiping on them - will it greatly increase vital stats, will you be farming rares or special items for them, or will they get a basic, generic set of gear -prestige, non-prestege?
Will you be maxing AA's or will they be running with the 250 free max, they 1000 silver max, or are they heroic...

If you are running Gold account, and have some way to regen end, Id say Berzerker would be your best bet.
If you are running a Non-Gold account, you may wish to look into a Wizard (plus they have ports).
If your mobs are "humanoid" maybe a max AA Ranger using headshot...seen many 3 sec fights with that...

Another thing to think about is what ELSE could your DPS toon do for you that you are lacking atm (i.e Wizard-ports, Beastlord-Paragon,pet,buffs,melee and caster, etc.)?

If you fights are already lasting only 20 sec, do you REALLY need that much more DPS?

I know that this probably doesn't help a lot, but it does factor... casters are very mana regen dependent, melee types are very gear dependent, and we all know how precious that endurance regen can be.

I'll put it this way....I am considering swapping the Bst in my group for a 3rd ber or 2nd plee once it is maxed up....Just for the simple reason that between the tank and the two other zerkers...the beast does very little in my groups....

When they hit zerkers with a nerf so Dicho only does 3 hits versus 7 the way it is intended the balance of power will tilt again either that or the next release will have far less love for zerkers as compared to other classes. Not to mention when it comes to namers ect I love the Beast adps for the zerkers.

Will add my .02 w/o reading above posts. Its still zerker or ranger, or tbh SK. I know the only time I've lost to a pure melee on Enslaver group missions (while on SK) burn portion was a well played Zerker, and he had a ranger, this being while SCF still TC both of their Dichos. SK burst dps is incredible when done correctly. Every week I parse over 300k dps on 1min + HP burn in Droga raid. And it refreshes every 20 minutes, just like ranger, and zerker FULL burns. But all 3 will still get you over 1mil dps on a 20 sec fight with minimal adps.
