Question - Automate spell skill-ups?

Hi guys -
Is there any way without using MQ2 to make spell skill ups easier? Getting the carpal tunnel from hitting the in-game macro (/pause xx, /cast y, etc).

Thanks!

Use "/macro cskillup" which is included with the RG build.

Nevermind. I read "without" as "with" MQ2. Carry on. =)

Well when I used to be fully legal I used my mouse which is a Logitech and it has a macro maker. I know that is borderline legal but still, it definitely wouldn't get noticed because it is legit and many people use it, often without even knowing. Just don't stand somewhere obvious if you leave it running while afk. But anyway with that software you can spam any spell you want and even have a med period. SetPoint is the software and it lets you program in a routine and then you can have it repeat as many times as you want.

If you don't have a logitech keyboard or mouse, you could use some other free macro maker. I used to have one many years ago but it was old and didn't work when I upgraded to Windows 7. But since then I got another one called "Mini Mouse Macro" which is great. It is very cheap and they used to give you a free copy if you made a video to promote it which is what I did. It is powerful, more than Logitech stuff, and can record keypresses and mouse movements and clicks. You can also have multiple macros and hotkey them. I still used it earlier this year before I got MQ2 because autofollow sucks when the background fps is low. But if the background fps is high, my graphics card fan kicks in. So I made a macro that would change the settings of EQPlayNice with one click to slow it down when I was camping a mob and didn't need to run. Then another click would make it fast for travel.

Without macros I can't think of any other way. Apparently on Linux you can just hold a key down and it would repeat that keypress, so people would leave a stack of coins on a key to spam a spell. On a PC I can only think of a macro. I spent many nights asleep but with my PC on and a character facing a wall spamming spells with a macro. I used to go to empty zones and find an out of the way spot to hide.

there are a lot of mouse clicker type programs out there, just make a hotkey, and set it to click your hotkey every 1 second or whatever. voila.

The old ranger's autofire_0.4.exe is still around but sees hard to find. Basically just a key press macro program to the top window but works great for spell casting, fishing, foraging and the generic auto stuff you seem to want to do that you could put in a social. Since it lives outside the program, running it itself should not violate the TOS except for the nasty problem of the potential for AFK skilling up. (Not sure they care but....). The one problem I wish the would have solved when coding it actively is the ability target a window an always send the keystrokes to that window so you can tab to other windows and still have to run instead of failing when you change top level windows. It seems when the EQ devs added /autofire to the game they stopped developing it and became hard to find. PM me if you can't find it. Like started before though, there must be a bunch of old key to window programs out there for Windows. Most any of them would do.
