Guide - Aten Ha Ra - ToL Mission (1 Viewer)

Fantastic WMH, will give this a go later. Many thanks.

Did not work the 1st time, will try again later, not sure if my bard was trying to hit them as he was trying to mez them.

Melee shouldn't matter as long as the mez hits.

They give a message a lot that they shrug it off, I just pause dps on boss around 10% and verify they are all stone. otherwise I just sit there a couple mins until it finally gets the stone message.

My bard chases the gargs around, so im unsure about the messages. I am not seeing that anything has failed, but im not getting the achievement at the end.

is there a way to get message to appear on the screen in bold?
/popcustom 5 10 'This pink message will display for 10 seconds.'

colors:
1 = dark grey
2 = light green
4 = dark blue
5 = pink
6 = light grey
7 = white
13 = red
14 = bright green
15 = yellow
16 = bright blue
18 = cyan
20 = black

A guardian turns to solid stone, ashamed for being so easily manipulated.

Just do a GINA Trigger ... you need 4 of those for achievement . Or at least that has been my experience.

[Mon Dec 27 18:50:04 2021] A guardian turns to solid stone, ashamed for being so easily manipulated.
[Mon Dec 27 18:51:04 2021] A guardian turns to solid stone, ashamed for being so easily manipulated.

[Mon Dec 27 18:53:56 2021] A guardian turns to solid stone, ashamed for being so easily manipulated.

Wont get message immediately after casting mezz. As long as you cast mezz on them you will get it.

This is when to start looking for guardians: Aten Ha Ra shouts. 'Awaken, guardian!'

[Mon Dec 27 18:49:16 2021] Aten Ha Ra shouts. 'Awaken, guardian!'
[Mon Dec 27 18:50:31 2021] Aten Ha Ra shouts. 'Awaken, guardian!'
[Mon Dec 27 18:51:46 2021] Aten Ha Ra shouts. 'Awaken, guardian!'
[Mon Dec 27 18:52:56 2021] Aten Ha Ra shouts. 'Awaken, guardian!'

You can look at the time values and see how long it takes to get (the turns to solid stone) emote.

This is when you know they are active ( spawned ) :

[Mon Dec 27 18:49:36 2021] A smirking guardian begins casting Shredding Claws.
[Mon Dec 27 18:50:46 2021] A smirking guardian begins casting Shredding Claws.
[Mon Dec 27 18:52:01 2021] A smirking guardian begins casting Shredding Claws.
[Mon Dec 27 18:53:11 2021] A smirking guardian begins casting Shredding Claws.

So you can also target A smirking guardian

Yea to be clear, that script didn't work for me in the one attempt I've bothered to do for the achievement, but I was editing it mid fight and adjusting it and AHR died before I got it working. It mezzed some of them, but not all of them. I didn't have time to diagnose why that was the case. It could be something where you just need to turn off DPS, or there could be some bad behavior the script is doing that needs adjusted to work better. I posted it in the hopes that maybe someone else would get the time to finish it, or that maybe it would be useful to someone in it's half done state.

The fact that someone got it working suggests the idea is not far off, it probably just needs some tweaking to smooth out edge cases, or it's something where you're gonna have to sit there until you get the 4 messages and hold off on killing AHR.

Tried again this morning, Struggling to get the group to back off from Aten once the oozes are dead, Bard will not stop attacking Aten, hitting target clear stops the CWTN briefly until i try and keep agro on Aten with SK then they all pile in again and Aten dies. What commands can i use to stop zerks and beast using plugins to stop attacking, and bard using KA to stop damn meleeing and just mez the gargs?

Jayah, unsure on how to do GINA triggers, is there a guide somewhere?

Thanks.

After clearing target how about /cwtn mode 0 and for the bard /bct bard //mqp on

Yes it will, Lua script don't pause like macro or plugin

Looks like @Sic has updated and simplified it since I stole the hotkeys I have, but I use his pause and unpause to do this found here

Does this gargoyle script work for enchanters?

Here is what I run into:
- The run script does not discriminate if there is a golem in the way if it needs to run because of the green aura. I have made a series of wp keys to do that manually. I have a button to make all run but I feel it is safer to eat the green if MA gets called vs 5 variable runners out and about getting hit by golems when they are up.
- Chanter not mezzing gargoyles. hoping the script I saw can be used by chanters. I like seeing someone working on that. Is that Bard only so far?
- moving to avoid the purple aura from golems is difficult.

Is there a way to make an event to have all toons stay a certain distance from those golems? or auto move to a safe place based on the pop locs?

So after numerous failed attempts, I finally completed this mission . Here are some things I learned...

  • All toons level 120 with almost maxed aa's (mix of raid/group gear/junk augs)
  • All toons using kissassist with ghetto settings
  • Make sure you have TargetSwitchingOn=1 when using KA otherwise your toons will continue to beat on a deactivated Aten while you facepalm and wonder wtf is going on
  • Use a dragon scales glyph (self-explanatory? almost feels like cheating...)
  • Use burns when the first add (pli liako) or whatever spawns seconds after aten activate (and focus the add first), or use burns for the blobs
  • Aten deactivates at 50% and the blobs activate seconds after. Make sure this doesn't happen simultaneously while the golems are pathing. I've had a few failures when this happens (I also suck at grabbing aggro/moving).
  • If the blobs "collide" they spawn some mini-blob? I don't know what happens exactly...something blinded my tank which sucked.
  • Keep toons in center area (or any area where the golems don't spawn on top of you)
  • I just used a simple /bct bard command to mez the gargs manually when they spawned. I got the achievement "calm the stones" my first kill doing this. (Turn off bard auto-mez in KA!)
  • In the final phase, aten has some other ability that makes a brown aura (instead of green) this time. No idea what it does. I think something made my toons feign death though.
  • I had all my toons eat every single silence. Healing through this wasn't really an issue with dragon scales. I felt this approach worked better for me because it was easier to control my toons to avoid the golems. YMMV.
  • There is a DPS check mechanic that is very very lenient. After like 15 minutes, "pli liako" will spawn in a round-robin fashion in the same 3 locations, every few minutes adding a new one. This never stops. I had an instance with like 100 of them stacking together.
I think this mission has some great mechanics for a 6 person group, but boxing it sucks. There is just too much shit going on sometimes. The golems just take up too much real-estate and are too punishing of a mechanic. I feel like this would make a better WoW boss than EQ.
In my personal opinion, I feel this mission is over-tuned and high on the difficulty scale. Sure, we've all seen Sic's video where he obliterates this - but he is a boxing god and makes this look trivial, and I'm sure there are a lot of folks out there like myself, who still suck/struggle to control our toons, and that makes this mission a royal PITA.

How are you all keeping the oozes apart while boxing?

How are you all keeping the oozes apart while boxing?
if you walk from the center directly towards one when they spawn, and second one will be like "o----> X -o" where the two o's are the blobs and the X is you. you can fight them just like that and get the achieve but if you leave any laterl distance to make the blobs move they'll overlap

You can also pet tank one ... Save some burns for the blob and burn 1 down ..... Pet tanking in all missions work well.

i didnt use script but if your group dps is high u might have to offtank aten to get all the mezzes

I had started working on modifying the shei script for the gargoyles, I only spent 5 minutes on it or so, so it's not working yet, but it might give someone an idea of a direction to go in:

Lua:
local mq = require("mq")

while true
do
    if mq.TLO.SpawnCount("a smirking guardian npc zradius 75")() > 0 then
        mq.cmd("/boxr Pause")
        mq.cmd("/twist 10")

        while mq.TLO.SpawnCount("a smirking guardian npc zradius 75")() > 0 do
            mq.cmd("/tar a smirking guardian npc zradius 75")
        end

        mq.cmd("/boxr Unpause")
        mq.cmd("/keypress esc")
    end

    mq.delay(10)
end

It was mezzing some of them, but not all of them. I didn't have time to diagnose why it was missing some, might have been range issues or something.
I apologize in advance, but what do I do with this? Copy, paste somewhere? Save as a file? Help please!

Copy then paste in a new file. Save as a Lua script. ie *.Lua. Once done copy it in your Lua folder of MQNext then run it on your bard.

For those who asked about an Enchanter version of the script, here's what I use:

[CODE lang="Lua" title="Aten Ha Ra: Calm the Stones"]local mq = require("mq")

while mq.TLO.Task('Aten Ha Ra')()
do
if mq.TLO.SpawnCount("a smirking guardian npc zradius 75")() > 0 then
mq.cmd("/boxr Pause")

while mq.TLO.SpawnCount("a smirking guardian npc zradius 75")() > 0 do
mq.cmd("/tar a smirking guardian npc zradius 75")
mq.cmd('/cast "Addle"')
end

mq.cmd("/boxr Unpause")
end

mq.delay(10)
end[/CODE]

Rookie move!

I’ve killed myself numerous times by pulling a huge train, hitting shield flash, and forgetting I had a 2-hander out. Oops.

Any tips on the Unstomped achievement? My understanding is it's just to keep out of the purple while it's active. Most of the time the timing of certain parts of the event are getting me. I can live with those. But there's been a couple times I know I've been away from the purple and it still tells me I failed.

the pillars will fall away from the room just before the puprle dudes spawn

the purple dudes will always spawn on the edge of the room somewhere

when you're going into that part of the fight, for the achievement, it is best to NOT be using the "run away" event - because they can spawn on top of you while running.

when they spawn, before they move, you can see where they are positioned, there is always a gap either in the middle, or on the sides.

you can preposition yourself so they go past you, but you will want your team NOT attacking Aten if the purple dudes are going to walk through her. You want to get repositioned, and hopefully not summoned.

I've done this mission twice now, but manually pausing/moving chars. If i want to use the event thing listed with KissAssist, can i just replace the
" /docommand /${Me.Class.ShortName} mode 0; /mqp on;"
with just ; /mqp on; ?

Should work. I modified it to use /boxr pause instead. To be fair, this is different than mode 0. If you want the character to still do some actions (like self-preservation healing) look at setting that instead. For me, pausing is fine.

Does the run-away portion of the mission stop happening when the purple guys spawn? I seem to recall that it does not stop.

It stops after the goo's.. then if you take to long on final fight (or maybe dont do garg mez), you get the sand/FD run away? kinda hazy on the whole thing, i ignore mechanics anymore on it :-/

Y'all need more hotbuttons. My Shield Flash is below, mapped to a key:
/timer 2400
/bando activate tanking (1h+shield)
/alt activate 1112

Have similar for deflection.

Dust and blood on the floor around {S} begins to rise from the ground.

This is an Orangish aura. It is a Feign Death. If you have auto stand turned on somewhere you wont even notice it.

If you dont have auto stand set to on, and wonder why you cant cast or melee. STAND UP!

I have something off -- my Bard doesn't return to the group after he runs away with the Aura. with events on. Anyone else have this? Thinking this is part of the reason the Lua isn't dealing with the Gargs -- he's not close enough.

At least he did run into one of the purple people eater auras, so failed that cheeve too. Just need the last two cheeves in this HA for Paragon.

I can beat this mission regularly and get the unstomped achievement occasionally and here is how I do it: (I don't use the run event as sometimes its best not to run them and eat it)
- Start at the south side in the low flat (not on the steps or top flat by the wall)
- try to stay on the low flat area unless the purple aura stone-walkers only gap is up on the top flat by a wall
- Set a waypoint on all toons except tank on the north side of room on the low flat floor. (not on the steps or top flat by the wall). (not where the purple aura dudes pop.)
- Use hotkeys on Main for each toon to run. I run my tank on this. When he gets called I send my cleric.
- Make keys to do (Manual, nav wp, pause, chase) for each toon. (different for each class and RGmercs toons are a little different setup)
- Set chase distance of 10 on all toons to keep them tight
- Save burns for Goo

I start south so I can look across the North side because the purple aura dudes are on that side and it gives me the most response and redirection time.
Kill the first two that pop and then get agro on named but switch to and kill the adds until you just have the named. This is when the first set of purple walkers pop. Look for the gap as soon as they pop and shuffle over to the gap they create between one pair of them. If there is no gap then the gap is on the wall. in those cases go either to the SE or NW wall and get all toons tight.
Aten gets to 50%:
At this point two Goo pop and I keep the main group on the south side and agro the south Goo. I use the waypoint on my monk on the northside Goo to off-tank it. However, usually shortly thereafter I get a set of the purple walkers and I end up bringing the group together and failing that ach in order to dodge the walkers. Keep dodging the walkers and sending people away when they are called unless they will run into a walker. If all your toons stand on FD then ignore the calls at the end when it is an orange aura.
When the Goo's are dead then work Aten down and its over.

I have not gotten an event to work yet that will make my chanter mez the gargoyles and I would like one please. I tried the one posted and I have not seen it work yet. I would like to try Lua. I guess I will look into how to do that now for this ach.

I still wipe on this occasionally but my success rate is increasing rapidly. Sometimes circumstances happen... Good Luck

Talked to Atheos and Hytiek, and they told me to post it. Added a condition for zerks to remove "Frenzied resolve discipline"

Code:
[AtenRun]
trigger=#*#Aten Ha Ra points at #1# with one arm#*#
command=/docommand ${If[${EventArg1.Equal[${Me}]} && !${Group.Member[0].MainAssist},/multiline ; /docommand /${Me.Class.ShortName} mode 0; /mqp on; /twist off; /if (${Me.ActiveDisc.Name.Find[Frenzied Resolve Discipline]}) /stopdisc; /timed 5 /afollow off; /nav stop; /target clear; /timed 10 /nav locxyz 1186.12 0.932035 235.003; /timed 150 /docommand /${Me.Class.ShortName} mode 2; /timed 150 /mqp off; /timed 150 /twist on,/docommand ${If[${EventArg1.Equal[${Group.MainAssist}]} && !${Group.Member[0].MainAssist},/multiline ; /docommand /${Me.Class.ShortName} mode 0; /mqp on; /twist off; /if (${Me.ActiveDisc.Name.Find[Frenzied Resolve Discipline]}) /stopdisc; /timed 5 /afollow off; /nav stop; /target clear; /timed 10 /nav locxyz 1186.12 0.932035 235.003; /timed 150 /docommand /${Me.Class.ShortName} mode 2; /timed 150 /mqp off; /timed 150 /twist on,/echo BAD]}]}
Could i put this in my MQ2Events_name.ini already existing (the one i used for Icebound Avatar) ? Or should i replace it ?
