Like now, I tried to make some mash keys for a toon and have been googling and pulling my hair out haha. Died in GH because I had hp drain skill on.
What class/level?
SK can handle a mash button, but I find Necro/DoT casters need casting hotbutton macros. With SK I either do an entire hottbon bar to 1 key, or I make a "taunt" section to 1 key and a "lifetap/everything else" one.
As an example, I set up 3 hottbuttons for my necro... SLOW MED FAST. Each group had 3-5 DoTs, used as needed for the fight.
SLOW would be the long lasting (disease/splut)
MED would be the regular fire/poison lines
FAST would be 3 of the speed DoTs, depending on which ones are top damage for the toon, versus whats getting resisted.
And of course recast as they wear off. Takes a little tweaking to get the cast delays/pause just right:
/pause 030, /cast 1
/pause 050, /cast 2
(remember the pause go in front, but is executed after the cast. 030 is 3 seconds. You need to account for cast time and recover time)
Rest depended on what as going on. Like if needing a slower but no alt... Skel nuke to make it undead then undead slow. If pet is tanking, shielding+ pet heals, etc.

Occurs to me someone reading this might not know the keybind/multibind trick:
"
Multi-binding in EverQuest allows mapping multiple hotbar slots to a single key (e.g., '1' for slots 1-10), enabling a fast rotation of abilities or spells with one button press. This is done via
Alt+O -> Keys -> Hotbar,"
You will find only one of your hotbars has keys assigned. Pick one of the other ones, and bind X amount or all of them to a single key. When you mash the key, it will send all of them commands/spells/AA/item click/what ever to the server at once. The server will basically do "Hotbutton one ready? If so execute! If not, hotbutton 2 ready? ect".
For nukers it means what ever nuke is ready get launched. For tanks, its usually what ever aggro thingie is ready. But for DoTers... theres no gain to landing DoTs before the expire so need more control.
Sorry about overexplaining, its a habit of mine after having decades of training people... way too many folks nod and "yes I done that I understand that" and promptly screw it up. "listen FNG, just humor me ... we are both going to pretend you are totally unaware and clueless, and go from there..."
