Problem - 5 to 10 second "freeze" after zoning

when I zone with either character, I can run around for 3 seconds then there's a hard ~8 second freeze before I can do anything else. Happens with both characters. This is off a fresh install, reinstalled everything with default settings... (it was happening before as well, before I reinstalled)

please help :(

Solution
Could be the map loading everything in zone.
yeah good point - tho in the other thread said he everything except mq2ic unloaded and was having issues when pressing socials

You might also be having an issue with zoning if you have "show offline members" enabled in your guild window and you are in a large guild
I ended all macros, I closed every plugin except mq2ic (because it crashes the game). The 8 second freeze is still there. I don't know what else to possibly close or disable.

I restarted the game without MQ2 loaded, and everything's fine. No lag or freeze.

Whatever issue is causing this is almost certainly related to my 500ms lag with button presses as well.

ugh I guess running EQBC fixed it. For some reason I thought this wasn't required unless you want to issue multiple commands to multiple boxes (which I don't really need for dual box).

Anyway this fixed the load time lag, but the button lag is still there...

false alarm: the 8 second zone lag is back... I reloaded all of the plugins and did the /bccmd reconnect on, and one of those things made it come back

sorry to hear you are having issues.

there's nothing that immediately jumps to mind that would cause the issue you're describing with *just* mq2ic loaded and no other plugins doing anything at all.

but this sounds related to your ohter post.

I would ensure you're all fully updated with your drivers and such

hmmm I did the guild offline thing and I *think* that fixed it... two zones in a row with no lag. hopefully it doesn't come back

Thanks ;)

There has been a problem with instances since yesterday. Still going on as of a couple of hours ago. Were you in an instance when the freezing was happening?

My guild was reporting massive lag last night to the point where many of them logged and quit trying to play. This may be what was going on with you :)

just to clarify, I'm well aware of the lag over the last couple days. This isn't server lag, it's a hard "freeze". The game is completely unresponsive for 8 seconds.

But yeah unchecking offline guild members seems to have fixed it.

Wow, I was having this problem too, 8-10 seconds of totally frozen on every toon, after zoning I'd get 1-2 seconds of movement then a 8-10 second freeze.

I just kind of assumed that's a by-product of the program...

Did this offline guild member thing and it fixed it completely. My guild has 2800 members in it, I would have had no idea that was why.

I know that ive had this issue in the past and it was my map. I have a bad habit of opening it then minimizing it and it can happen on several accounts at the same time and if I run something like a /bcaa //alt act 511 which is throne port or just zoning there is a considerable load time increase. In addition I recently bought a new razer naga mouse to replace my old decrepit one. It comes with some useful software however the "game boost" option in fact slows down my games significantly and it my fault for not hand configuring it. Advanced system care also has a game booster that can cause the same issue if you select the wrong items to close.

Great post! Had same issue on one of my characters that is in a different guild. Didn't even think of off-line members... Fixed it 100%. Awesome!

*screen freezes after zoning

Great fix Sic.

It was doing that to one of my characters and finally I just copied all character files from another character over it.
Now 2 months later another character started doing it and I could not fix it at all, and it was VERY annoying.

Clicked off show offline in guild and it instantly fixed.

Thank You!
