I would expect DB to ramp up the hammer on Frostreaver if they follow through with no truebox. I have not played EQ in about a year but Frostreaver has me excited. I dusted off as many old accounts I could to vote.
 
Or maybe go the path of 'only x number of clients per IP Addr.....' I fully expect DPG to work out some way to make boxing impractical, while not implementing truebox.

Should this server allow MacroQuest (and other third party tools without certain hacks) as a trial for our future development? - Yes
 
Waiting to see if they are going to copy/paste Vaniki challenge rewards, or something brand new. Might be one of the biggest things that actually draws ppl to Frost
 
you might want to hold off on that they are extremely protective of new tlps wait until late into luclin or early pop is what i would personally do.

before the whole no mq on truebox stuff i regularly played on the new tlp to make quick easy krono and even with no afk play and staying out of peoples way by going to bad camps like prerevamp paw or staying in non dungeon zones where ever possible i would be caught in a wave once a month as a 6 boxer.

or at the very least use accounts you dont care about that are not connected by email / cc to your main ones
 
yah it's a weird spot. There's no truebox second server to pair with it on launch, so the bar of staying out of peoples' way may be way higher here before you catch a report... since they're throwing all personalities and playstyles in together. Part of me wants to wait to see if a mass ban happens before I invest time, but then, if it does, guess it's not going to be long until the next one? and if it never comes, aren't I just self-banning and missing out at that point?

...but this post was just a lot of words because when it comes, I am sure I'll just play on it so there's that. :cool:
 
Think if you are logged in on live when server drops you can just camp over without issue? Ive done quite a few TLP launches and the login servers are a S*** SHOW! Would this bypass the "login" server?

if mq isn't rebuilt trying to log onto can and will get you detected

Patch - Thread 'When will MQ be available for Frostreaver?'

A lot of folks are excited about Frostreaver, the rest of the live-crew and I are excited to make MQ work for it since it is a non-truebox server.

I've already done the work to get MQ running on it, but it does require checking and confirming some data that is only possible *after* the server is available, which means "sometime after".

Unfortunately EQ just pushed a new .exe 12:25am EST / 9:25pm PST, which means MQ needs to be rebuilt, so we're not going to be able to see the update for Frostreaver until *after* MQ is rebuilt.

The timing sucks, dbg this patch...
