Zone Abbrevs! Upgraded!

I figured that, since I make use of the Storyline window, I would take the list of zone abbreviations, found here on the forums, and make them accessable while IN-Game. Instead of using EQ Folder or Forum List. You can simply press ALT+N (Storyline Window) and click the link, and it'll list right there, all the zone abbreviations.

Create a folder in your Sony/EverQuest/Storyline folder and name it whatever, then put the Text Document inside that folder.

The file should be placed in a folder because that should keep it on top of all the other EverQuest Stories. So you don't have to scroll around to find it in the mass.

NOTE: rename the Text file to storyZoneguide.txt

That works also! But I use my /note window for random Quest stuff I encounter and dont want to forget before I finish it.

I belive there's a note file in the EQ directory, never really looked, would prolly be something like notes.txt. If there is, copy and paste it in that.

Download the file, place it on your desktop or somewhere easy to find. It'll show up as Zoneguide.txt -- Create a New Folder, name it Zone Guide (or anything you want) place the .txt into the New Folder (renamed) and place that folder into your C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\Storyline folder

Path may vary, but basically your EverQuest\Storyline folder.

You should be able to do it while Online EQ. If you edit the file, it shows up ingame also, if you're online at the time.

After all that, ALT+N while ingame, look for "Zone Guide" or whatever you named the folder.

If that don't work, lemme know.

Doing this or editing the notes.txt file (thanks Cadewen) would not update in EQ unless I made these modifications while fully exited from game.

That's quite strange. I suppose I forgot to name the file correctly! Woops - Well ANYONE WHO HAS TROUBLE - Look at J Bones post heh.

And I edit mine all the time, while in game. So, strange it wont work for you.

Since you put it in /notes

Go to the zone you want to know the short name of, and /who all YourName (with ANON/Roleplay off) then simply /note and add it.
