Question - Your group costs...F2P or Live???

So I have some questions. There are so many people that are running full groups or multiple groups / raids etc on a machine. Thats fine, I understand that, but how in the world are you paying for all of the accounts? Are most people playing F2P, or are you just grinding on live servers to earn plat / kronos?

I have played on a couple different live servers, but once you reach a certain point on each of the accounts you cant progress them F2P (AAs). Lets not mention $30 each account for the current expansion? I am assuming a lot of people are F2P that area running this many accounts, or at least, mostly F2P ? I would love to get feedback. Maybe you use a bunch of F2P to fund 1 or 2 accounts non-f2p? Just wondering.

What do you do about prestige gear? Does everything have to be non-prestige? And with most gear being bought through merchants from difficult adventures, how do you manage that especially if its all prestige.

yeah ive done a lot of that actually, guess the question was more for those that are F2P on live. Plat is pretty meaningless on TEST, ive probably got easily 100 million plat on there lol

I pay for a bunch gold accounts. If I ever get banned, my bank account will thank me.

The way I pay for a bunch of accounts is I setup traders, which allows me to afk earn platinun while being in offline trader mode. At start of expansion I had 8, dropped down to 5 now.

Those 8 traders were churning in about 60-75 million plat the first month, now with 5 I'm done to about 25-35 million. With converting all that to Krono.

This pays for my tank and puller as gold status with quite a few Krono left over. All my other accounts are f2p.

For casters there is no need to be constantly be paying, once a year to max AA is enough.

For tanks you might want to stick with All-Access as it certainly makes things easier, but like Razkle said it is possible to tank as F2P.

You just need to be more selective with your gear/augs and absolute min/max is not possible. Best tanks will be on prestige augs/T2/Raid armor.

do you focus on getting gear drops to sell or ts stuff? Thats a lot of stuff to keep up with for sure, although I do have the accounts.

I do a little bit of everything. But the most effective method is to monopolize a particular item in bazaar as I don't care if you are running 4-6 bot groups farming certain drops, the drop rate is so low on certain items that it wouldn't matter. Plus you have total control on pushing the price down at your discretion with volume of the item, forcing everyone to price below you. This does require knowledge of what sells well and what doesn't. Supply vs demand etc..

Its a lot faster to buy out a trader then to go and farm the stuff. 1 minute of your time buying another trader out vs maybe 8-9 hours afk farming with risk of getting attention on yourself from botting. Keep in mind I do both though.

I dropped from 8 to 5 traders, well because demand has dropped (people are starting to flake out of the game after they've experienced the expansion or not logging in often enough as the first month expansion went live). I'll probably drop another trader in a month or two.


I also inflate the value of all my items I sell according to the going rate of Krono. So if a Krono is going for 2 million pp , then I don't sell anything on my traders worth less than 20k pp (i.e. 1% of the value of a Krono) , since you are limited to 100 slots on your trader.

ok I'm confused, f2p maxes at 1k aas don't they? Or are you saying if you go gold and get say 5k aa and then go back to silver that while you can not gain more aas it still lets you have use of all the ones you have used?

I pay for one account gold always, another two get a month from time to time when it's AA grind time. Rest of the accounts are all F2P so they can farm plat to pay for the best non-prestige gears they can get etc and to buy krono's. As a tank or his primary healer is leveled out at the plateau you're hitting, you toss a krono on them to do aa's. Do the autogrant and then grind aa's for the month. Rinse and repeate as you can and keep at it. That's all.

You are correct, FTP limits how many AA's you can gain (earn), but you can use any/all AA's that you have already.

So what they are all telling you is....
If you make out you level as f2p, pay for a month subscription and max out your AAs then let it drop back to f2p. You won't be able to use prestige gear but whatever AAs you have spent will all be available to you to use. You don't lose AA abilities, you just can't get any more till you resub the account again.

So if never pay for account...Low AA
If sub now and then, get max AA, use all AA, but only pay for it when you need to get more AA.

Test, everyone is Gold. EQMule and Redguides team updates Test with as much speed as live in my experience. I also buy Krono on Bristle and FV to use their economy and /testcopy any items I want. It's very effective and I still feel like I'm supporting DBG and keeping the servers alive.

TDS = level 105
TBM = level 105, many new spells (dicho spell line is big deal), some good zones
EoK = level 105, many new spells, many new zones

TDS given for free to all accounts
TBM can not be purchased
EOK can be purchased only directly from DBG and it will give you TBM as well
Expansion does not care if your are Free or Gold subscription

Subscription = Free

1. Servers = Live, Test, No TLP/Event
2. AA = No AAexp past 250. Existing AA are usable
3. Spells = All in expansion, Rk spells can NOT be cast/learned
4. Items = Can npc/pc transfer items/currency
5. Gear = Wear all gear from all expansions. Prestige gives NO stats.
6. Slots = 2 characters per server
7. /barter = can buy no sell
8. /trader = can buy no sell

Subscription = Gold (via Krono or $$ to DBG)

1. Servers = All
2. AA = Gain AAEXP to maximum, also get auto-grant every few levels
3. Spells = All in expansion, Rk can be cast/learned
4. Gear = Prestige gives stats

2. Gold subscription auto-granted

Common strategies

1. Pay for Gold for to max AA after you have reached the highest level you can on Free, then back to Free.
2. Pay for Gold on a tank as some TBM/EoK content needs the better prestige gear to tank
3. Pay for Gold to play on TLP or Event servers
4. Pay for Gold for a /barter/trader to afford Krono for the above

1. Play on Firiona or Brext because you can transfer no-drop to free accounts to get powerful expansion gear
2. Play on Test for auto-grant Gold
3. Play a few out-of-group free accounts (Wiz!!) for extra DPS/Heals on content you cant solo/group =)
