Just got a new laptop with windows 10 on it. Downloaded the new installer and ran it to get the very vanillia install in place.\\

Did a run on macroquest desktop icon as administrator and it brings up the confirm box, I click yes and it does not load.

tried running the compatibility test and it does not work,
tried running directly from the directory and it did not work
tried running with win 8 compatability and that did not work
turned off Kaspersky anti virus and tried again it did not run

Any thought? ISBoxer is running fine....

did run it as admin

checked and .net is installed.

ok update on this, it will not load if isboxer is up, if I load it before isboxer after it will load or if I go without isboxer it will load... odd

Cheers

1st option: Unload Windows 10and and load a previous version of Windows....(in my opinion that would be your best bet)

2nd option: Delete/Unload All your MQ stuff, rerun Windows updater, Recheck the .net files (maybe delete and reinstall), Reboot comp, and try reloading MQ stuff.

3rd option: BIG hammer.....another new computer

4th option: Since its a new comp, call your customer service techs since you shuld have at least 6mo (if not more) free support (if you don't, ypu either got the comp real cheep, or got jiped..either way it could point to your problem).

new EQ is always interesting, you need .net, you need directX9c (yes 9), install c++ runtime

I just got a new Windows 10 PC and I installed EQ and then installed MQ2 using Red's new updater. Worked great. Maybe try right click and run as admin?

I still can't get mq2nav to run on my Windows 10 laptop, but a few suggestions would be to take ownership on both your mq and eq folders. Make sure sub folders are not inheriting permissions from super folders. Also make sure your windows 10 comp has all its files indexed properly. Sometimes Windows 10 will only index a small percentage of your total folders.

Subfolder rights issue for the win.

Please add my vote for "I hate windows 10" and for good support folks at MQ2.

Cheers

Yep. Windows 10 has major issues. My big no-no is not being able to disable or uninstall updates to the OS. Considering microsoft's track record of botching patches, I'm not ok with that system. First thing I do on my new work laptops is bomb off windows 8 or 10 and load 7. (though you have to tweak the BIOS to do so)
Glad you got it working!
