Question - Which is better? 85 Cleric using AutoCleric or J5 Merc Cleric?

Just wondered.

About to start a 85 heroic cleric from scratch for my team, but wondering if he would be able to cope with healing a 105 EOK group or not?

Probably not in EoK content right away. But if you are all EoK geared, take him back to TBM and plow through stuff until he is lvl 105 in a couple of days.

he will be 85 for like a day so use the heroic cleric and go! I just leveled 5 toons from 85 to 105 and it takes my team 1 day to get to 105

If your group can handle EoK it is was faster to level.... but if your team is not up to date then fight at your ability. Find a camp like in south east of FM (spider tamers) and no named and Profit! You may have to drop a real toon for a merc while you level your new cleric, trust me, a real cleric is WAY better.... 2 words... B A T T L E - R E Z

Yes real cleric ALL THE WAY. I wouldn't even bother using autocleric for a while... Just just kiss to do some baby heals off and on and use a healer merc until your cleric is 105. Then autocleric is great except I can't ever get it to click-back-to-camp and rez when we wipe. :\

Also, someone tried to tell me that they nerfed the exp for EOK zones so that under 90s don't get much exp, but I've seen people get their 85s up to 105 in no time. (Not as fast as Raz, but close. hehe)

Ive seen no xp nerf in eok zones and ive leveled 6 diffrent toons 1-105 2 days. mercs just flat out suck end of story.

85 Heroic, all the way. Autocleric works fine for a lvl 85. I don't know what your setup is, but if you have another healer in the group (another cleric, a shaman, a druid, etc.) then just plug the baby 85 cleric in and go to town in EoK. I'd avoid named camps where the named does any kind of AE effect because it'll splat your undergeared PL'ee, but otherwise you'll be fine. If the 85 cleric is the only healer, that may still be fine, but find a camp in EoK where you pull easy singles/doubles (assuming your tank can handle) or have good CC and you'll still be fine. My cleric really only heals when my melee toons are eating ripostes from the sarnak finesse effect or my SK runs off and pulls like 4-5 mobs and my enchanter/bard hasn't finished mezzing everything.

*edit* and that's in all group gear, with a few ultra-rare chase items on the SK (like 2 or 3).

I tried fm drogan tamers. Died like a bitch. Only have 110k hp on sk and it just isnt working with SK as tank.
More likely a problem with having a 2h weapon and not a 1h weapon and shield I rhink though.

Using the 2H Weapon is definitely a problem - I'd take your team to TBM which will allow you a start on your cleric and at the same time focus on gear for the SK. Look at the aug droppers most will have no campers and allow you to get both group gear and a nice bonus from augs. I'd also guess your SK is light on AA's for EoK. Focus your drops on the SK first than on your dps. AC is a primary consideration as it both mitigates the spikes in your SK's damage and the average amount - EoK will dish both to a lightly armored tank. Until the SK is geared your new cleric, or even a merc cleric will often lack the mana pool to maintain a good rate of killing. Another option to gear your tank is to hang in EoK waiting for rot drops, I'd only suggest this as a last resort because you will get neither the leveling or actual hands on experience with your tank to make you effective. Personally, it always makes me think of a vulture picking over the bones of the dead hoping for something useful. Good luck growing your group and leveling your cleric!

/Agree fully witb darkmax. Playing ur toon gets u used to each nuance and the ins and outs of the toons. Only vulture loot if u know ur toon, even then just hunting is a better reward.
