Question - Which class do you drive your team with?

Hey all, was just curious what box setups you are using and which class you're driving with. I'm running SK/CLR/BRD/BST/ROG/BER and I always drive with the SK. Any of you main something else? Thought it'd be cool to hear what everyone else is running! =)

Depends on what I am doing. If I have to be careful, I drive with the Bard for pulls. If I am in mow down mode, drive with the tank.

Warr has been main since start, so have always driven it. And adding the chanter there havent been any problems with pulling either.

I drive with my bard usually, if I have a camp broken or it's open field then I might start up kissassist in puller mode on him and keep an eye on the other characters twiddling with ini's and that sort of thing, the KA12 beta is good for this as you can reload the ini without restarting the macro using /kasettings load. I have a second group where monk is the puller and I drive with him, so it's usually the puller I pick to control.

Sometimes when autopulling and pushing for more DPS I will drive with my enchanter and charm mobs, but usually only pausing kissassist to recharm and then unpausing to let it drive again, you can't beat KissAssist for keeping 5 mobs mezzed. Lately I've been playing on an era where I just dire charm a mob though and leave it at that so haven't been doing much manual charming.

I've never really driven with my tank when grouping, only when hitting raid targets for better positioning. I can't really see the point of driving with the tank although I think it's probably what most people do? I suppose it makes sense depending on how many characters and what classes you are playing. I almost always 6 box.

I drive from my SK tank probably 99.9% of the time. I did have a lowbie ftp group I drove from an enchanter but gave up on that. It's just so much easier driving your MA/Tank.

I always drive with the tank - usually a SK, but sometimes a warrior. One day I will learn to play a paladin!

For my primary group I drive with my paladin - for my second group I normally drive the war until they are established in the area then I go back to paladin. I have one group comp that I play sometimes though that uses a mage pet as the tank - for that team I drive and pull with my enchanter.

As others have mentioned, I have control down with my bard or chanter. I drive with my SK. Beefy enough to handle bulk of most content I kind of just haphazardly bulldoze into areas and expect my guys to do their work.

All you really need is Shield Flash - those 6 seconds is enough time for them to sort it.

I drive my tank with everyone else on assist and when I find a camp I stick him in tank mode and turn on my puller.

Seems a common trend.... I too drive with tank (Warrior), I pull with tank as well (cause I'm lazy)

I normally control my Beastlord and use him to pull with using slow.

Pull and tank/"drive" with SK(I don't use mq on everyone else only some, and I don't send commands, so they all have some of their own driving time), but it's always been my main. Sometimes I wish I had someone to chain pull for me but usually I'd rather be lazy and kill relaxed mode anyway.

SK. It probably irrelevant when set up in a camp and pulling. But when travelling, doing quests, etc., it seems you would want to be driving with the toon you would want to be on when the 'oh, s%!t' moments happen. For me that's the SK.

In all seriousness, since I use entropy it's almost better to drive explicitly not the tank (it does such a good job of picking up and maintaining aggro) or the CC (again, super aggressive at picking up and CCin'g agro), much better to drive the puller. The puller in my situation is usually the shaman or potentially the nec if I care about splitting. But really, anyone can pull.

I drive w/ Magician (run, coh, set-up camp). I manage team activities/execution w/ enchanter. In the rare event i'm in a dungeon or hard camp, i'll run team w/ puller so i can manage adds manually.

I drive with my monk. I do not use a regular tank w/ my team. If I played a tank, I think I would still drive with the monk because he's my puller.

what is your team just curious since dont use a regular tank.
Monk, Bard, Zerk (or wiz depending), Ench, Shaman. When my spouse plays, he brings his warrior. When I'm alone, I toss a cleric merc in for xtra heals (or a speedbump on big pulls).

BLUF: Warrior...now.

I returned from a 6 year break. While I was way under-geared and under-AA'd, I had to drive with my Bard to ensure my pulls were only singles. Then, start reading, start learning, get everything set up correctly, get the right gear, AAs, now I 99.99% of the time run WAR. I used CWTN/Sic plugins now, and, while aggressive, my crew can plow through a pull of 5-6 even/yellow con chetari's with no issues.

My team: WAR/SHM/CLR/BRD/BER/BER

My pro-tip: Once you are geared where you want to be, screw mezzing during farming or grinding. Set up a hotkey for all your melee toons to Rampage at the same time...watch mobs melt.

I always break camps and pull with my chanter. Chanter is always box #1 when loading up.

With a good macro setup, there's no reason to not drive with the character you enjoy playing most. The way I see it, you have a character, and then you have a box crew around that character for support because EQ is not very solo-friendly.

Mage, my main. Sending in an RS pet followed by a water pet will have 3-4. mobs gathered together in no time, for the SK to pick up aggro. I chase only, and if I see that I left someone behind, I can COTH them directly.

I drive with my WAR tank, mainly because I'm still learning and trying to get everything working correctly.

I drove with my necro main for a long time (boxing well before i had ever heard of mq2).

now a days i drive with my sk - doing missions and more difficult content where i'm moving around and doing some mechanics and such is much easier to drive with the tank

Bard. I box 12-18 depending on the situation and I just keep delivering mobs to the meat grinder. With a bard in the era I am in, pulls get long and we are the fastest at it. No need for enchanter, things die before my 18 second Mez is up.

Update: been pulling with Zerker lately...he's beefy enough to be able to take hits...and the CWTN plugin pulling feature is just fantastic once you've added all the stuff you want to ignore.
