Hi MQers,

I'm a returning player, using 2 machines to box 1 melee + 2 casters at a time by alt-tab. (with 3 Mercs)
When I was level 10, just accomplished Gloomingdeep, running around in PoK for <Tutorials - Out of Gloomingdeep>.
One 6-box guy mastered my 25 languages in 5 mins, which may take me 5 hours to do it normal way for my 9 accounts/classes.

It surprised me and I am interested in MQ2, to make my playing time more efficient.

Now my question is, after reading/watching couple posts/videos, I have no idea what part of MQ2 can a level 1 member try?

I know only level 2 member can use VeryVanilla and KissAssist.
But when I want to download RedGuides Launcher to try some public resources, it also says only level 2 is allowed.

So, where should a level 1 member start from, to learn MQ2?

welcome to the madhouse! you can use redcents to buy a level 2 membership. Level 2 istn required, but will make your journey alot easier. Get redcents by being active in our group here. Welcome back to EQ, and be ready to go place you never knew (with a slightly learning curve).

you can read this section of the forum, that's about it. There is no form of MQ available without a subscription or active forum participation. For all intents and purposes, it's a pay-to-play software program. "Public resources" just mean things that people have put out there to add onto the MQ client, but in order to use the base MQ program, you need level 2. My suggestion would be to buy a month, see if you like it, post on the forums and be active and try to earn Redcents to pay for additional months.

this is false, MQ is open and can compile for yourself anytime you want? =-/

If you want to use Redguide's flavor of MQ you need to be level 2. If you want to compile the open source code and make your own flavor you can but this site will not help you do that.

I had taken a long break, came back and EQ alone had a lot of changes, the walk throughs are nice, not everything is answered, but it's enough to be dangerous LOL... that said, I definitely found that learning and refining the INI taught me the most; experiment here, ask a question here, apply it there, seemed to teach me the most about it... I really enjoyed the older INI websites that walked me through (though I believe some are out of date or whatnot... they still were a really great place to learn a basic knowledge)

KISSASSIST

Still one of my favorites for learning and quick reference, if there's better, I am unaware... another one I liked for / macro commands was

MQ2MOVEUTILS

Just a couple nuggets that help me sort it out... and then again, asking questions of the community here @ RG has been HUGE!

Good Luck and Welcome Back!

Just my two red:rcents.
