Good'day Redbuddies,
MacroQuest has been the backbone of this community since it's creation. Recently, we faced a period of uncertainty when the volunteers who maintain the MQ project stepped down unexpectedly. Because MQ requires intensive monthly maintenance to remain functional, we immediately paused all plugin sales. We didn't want to accept further support until we were certain the underlying platform would continue to be updated.
Plugins are available for purchase again!
A new group of volunteers has stepped forward to handle the monthly maintenance for the MacroQuest project. As a result, we have a running build and are making our plugins available for purchase again. However, we want to be fully transparent about the reality of the situation:
While CWTN and Sic are dedicated to maintaining our plugins (available since 2019), we can only guarantee that they are operational with MacroQuest. The actual maintenance and availability of the MacroQuest platform itself is out of our hands.
We are committed to this project for as long as the platform and the game are there to support it. However, we have to acknowledge that we don't control the underlying software. Whether it is the volunteer-run MacroQuest project or the fact that EverQuest itself could be sunset at any time, we simply can't predict what the future holds for us any more than you could. We intend to keep going as long as possible, but we are all operating in an environment we don't control.
We didn't suddenly forget about the emulated community just because a build for live came through. It was always intended to get the plugins to the emulated EQ community but wanted to get all of the plugins released for the live communities first. Due to the various ways that the emulated servers make alterations to the way the game works in general, it's going to force us to stray away from the hard coded functionality that pre-determines all the needs for you in advance. But we're trying to make a system that is hopefully intuitive for the users, and causes minimal support for us due to those differences. When we have something available, your licenses for your live plugins, will be shared to the emulated portion as well. This is also going to require some consideration for the method of delivery through redfetch. So please be patient, it's coming.
We want to be fair while protecting our ability to keep the lights on for our families. We offer a 7-day guaranteed refund window so you can verify everything works for you. After 7 days, we aim to be reasonable with unique requests, but we cannot offer pro-rated refunds for "time remaining" on a license if external changes to MQ or EverQuest eventually break compatibility.
We’re making these available again because we know the community depends on them. Thank you for your support since 2019 and for sticking with us as we navigate these changes.
