Tip - Waxwork Abolishion Strategy (All Achievements)

Greetings, I am doing a little write-up here for my strategy and what I've learned after running Waxwork Abolishion close to 80 times now.

Lets start with my personal setup. I run a 5 box + 1 merc, current team is all 130 and approaching AA cap for SoR expansion. All have t2 SoR group armor & non-vis with t1 ToB raid weapons.
I run SK tank, Monk, Bst, Bard and Shaman. The bard and shaman are supporting via RGMercs Lua scripts while the Monk and Bst are using KissAssist.
I control the SK manually while utilizing the Boxcar app for instant window swaps with a tidy overlay panel of useful macros for each character.

So, that's what I'm running. Now lets talk strategy.

Firstly you go up and hail the big wax monstrosity and say [Destroy] to trigger the fight sequence. (Make sure you're buffed up first! The first split phase can hit hard)

** PHASE ONE ** The boss will aggro after dialogue and needs to be damaged down to 90% where it's health will lock. Green text will flash indicating the boss is about to split.
---> First Split <--- Here is where the boss will split into 5 smaller adds, each with their own color and name indicating their respective abilities.
The objective here on the first split is to kill 3 of the 5. There's no need to burn here as we want to balance down the 3 we choose.
So, here is where I pop defensive disc (Mantle or Carapace) with SK 2.0 click just before agro'ing the 5 adds.
I always kill red, yellow and blue in this phase. Just be aware that balance is key here, I get all 3 to ~30% health and then start killing them.
When the first one dies you will get an emote and you have only ~15 seconds to kill the remaining 2 that are low health.
**EDIT** [You can balance down all 5 here if tank can sustain (careful with burns) and skip to the last phase.]

** PHASE TWO ** The remaining 2 adds will despawn and the boss reforms here.
After killing 3 adds on the first split the boss will come back now we can damage it down to 40% health, again the HP locks here.
You will need to DPS him fast to avoid the little blue adds spawning (Wax Denial achievement)
---> Second Split<--- Now that we've only got two split adds to deal with it gets a lot easier.
Simply balance their health down to ~20% and go for the kills again. Upon the first add dying again the emote will trigger indicating the boss is reforming.

** LAST PHASE** With all the split adds now dead the boss reforms, we simply need to go for the kill.
Boss doesn't have much health and here we only need to damage the final 20%
Just be aware that we will want to kill him quickly to avoid any blue adds spawning.

... And that's it, we loot our chest and check off Savior of Candlemaker's Workshop achievement.

It's a solid strategy. I run a 6 box crew and if you can handle it, try and knock out all 5 of the initial split. It was hard at first but if you keep them dying evenly its not much harder to just kill them and not have to worry about doing the other two. I was initially doing it the exact same way you are but I got some better gear and a few more aa's and I finally do all 5.

Thanks, I haven't quite committed to a 6th account yet as I'm trying to get my wife to play EQ with me.
I actually attempted the 1 phase yesterday, but one died too fast and the last one de-spawned on me. Today though I was successful after I started swapping targets at around the 50% mark, had to pop a second defensive but this is a much faster clear and still all 3 achievs :)

Doing all 5, or 3 then 2, or 1 at a time doesn't really change much, other than the delays when separating and reforming. Each split represents a portion of the Abolishion's HP (approx 10%), so the more splits you kill the less HP you will need to do to the Abolishion.

If you kill the minimum 1 split per go then the Abolishion locks at 90%, 60%, and 20%, you will have to kill 3 splits, and you will need to do around 70% of damage on the Abolishion, with only around 10-14% on the final stage.

If you kill all 5 splits on the first go then the only Abolishion lock is at 90%. When he reforms he will have around 40% (a bit higher actually) and you need to kill him that round. Every time I did this I got a blue add that needs to be killed to get the Wax Removal 'chieve. If a globule forms as an add then you will fail the Wax Denial 'chieve. I have never seen an add when doing any combination other than killing all 5 splits on the first go.

If you kill 3 on the first split and 2 on the second, then the Abolishion locks at 90% and 40%. The final phase will be around 20% of the boss health.

The only reason I can see to prefer one method over another is whether you have trouble surviving the 5 splits initially. In that case, I would probably pop burns on the first split and take down as many splits as possible by evening out the damage. The Abolishion himself is a pushover. I personally run this mission without burns so I can save burns for the other missions.
