I know it's been said a million times but DO NOT afk play. Or at least if you do make sure you setup some sort of safe guards. I just watched a group near me disappear and shortly after I got a message from GM Alabaster. He wanted to make sure I was there and asked me to send him a tell from each of my boxes. I'm sure it's players reporting any sort of MQ2-esque movement but the GMs are taking it seriously on the new TLPs. Stay safe!

Rizlona was really busy this weekend. My team is only in its low 30s but I couldn't find a decent camp that didn't already have 2 or 3 other groups working it. No big deal, though. I'm not in a rush. I figure people were trying to get as much done as possible on the last weekend before Kunark releases, then it'll settle down again. So I mostly just did some spell shopping and ini maintenance, then went and played EQ2 for a bit.
Anyway, said all that to say I imagine DPG was probably also spending some extra time this weekend looking for AFK-ers.

Interesting you were asked to send one from each of your boxes, wonder if they're checking for people whom are Power levelling AFK players.
I was just at Cyclops and there was an obvious AFK group, pretty annoying as they just muck things up for the rest of us

Just from observing the past week, GMs are cracking down on afking. OoT is the zone to go to if you want to be noticed, it's too popular and everyone gets noticed or called out on botting, regardless if they're from Aradune. Imo, if you're afking in OoT, you deserve a ban now, it's just painting a big target on your forehead.

I got banned on Friday night around 5:30pm EST. I was on neriak wiz spires farming bonechips with my mage. I'd been doing it for days while working from home on my laptop during the day and at night i would farm while watching a movie or something. very mindnumbingly boring stuff. I wasnt even using a program lol (seriously would be insane considering how busy that spire is), I have a macro for tar decaying skel and pet attack, ive got a footpedal so i dont even need my hands on the keyboard, i would just glance at it ever so often, or i if saw the tell window pop up . i had randomly chatted with several people over the course of the week while farming the chips (i need 20k+ for SK, mnk, shm factioning) but i guess i missed a say and got booted and banned. i appealed it and explained what i just did here and they unbanned me without issue.
Is there a way to filter the say outs? ive got it going to a new window but the damn skelly spam goes to say and clogs it up big time. I did an audio alert for say, but then if the pet got wonky he'd spam saying stuff lol
long story short, Rizlona had a bunch of narcs the weekend it seems.

the tells that i got from a Gm were not in the tell window > i don't know if that was true for everyone. I stopped Oocing CC for lguk because honestly i can't be bothered doing it every 5 mins but i was at the key board. I nearly missed the tell because i wasn't looking there

I usually only afk at night in zones no one cares about. For instance, a few days before Kunark launched I setup at lord/magus for like 2 days straight. There was nobody there really.

Yes. I seem to be the repeater of this feature, but if you go into chat options and chat colors, "Say echo" is NPC spam and "say" is stuff that comes from PCs.
I've set my "Say echo" to a dark gray and "Say" to a bright pink

Rizlona Update 10/10/2020.
GM Alabaster stopped by my camp today. I don't afk but just saying if he would have been 2 minutes later my characters will have all been in combat.
No issues. Alabaster asked me to move around. Also spoke in /say and then in tells

Good topic, a GM alerted my window a couple days ago, was at least 3 other groups in zone and few strays. Soon as GM alert popped up I looked to see if he was on the map or /who and no GM to be found and only my group and one other person was left in zone, about 20 minutes later all 3 other groups were back again. Just thought I would mention that. lol
I am not trying to advertise but since it does exactly what you ask for, I am going to chime in. I have released a new plugin today called mq2say. It monitors for Player Character say messages near your group and if it receives one it alerts you. It also marks if a say was from a GM or guide. See the link for more information. It has not been tested on Rizlona, so let me know if any issues.
