Question - VV/MQ disable EQ's /mem?

New to VV/MQ - I'm used to changing spells with EQ's in-game spell sets and the /mem command. The command no longer works after running VV.

ex: /mem A
should load saved spell set "A".

edit to clarify my questions -
Does something in MQ/VV disable the "/mem" command in-game?
Can I create an alias or something to re-enable this feature?
Is there an alternative command/alias/way-of-doing-this preferred by MQ/VV?

I think the actual command used by EQ for that is /memspellslot.

However /mem works because the client will match less characters if there are no other commands that use those same characters. Check your <redguidesinstalldir>\config\macroquest.ini for aliases. There are some default ones that get added which begin (edit for typo) with /mem as well so they prevent the EQ command from being a unique match.
