• Hail, we're RedGuides. We want you to play six (yes, 6!) EverQuest characters at once. We have scripts and a friendly community to help, please join our playstyle and say hello! 👋
  • We've added LLM sections to our Terms & Rules and Resource Rules, for everyone's sanity & in-game safety.
    a. Do not replace your voice with an LLM. This goes for your posts and your scripts. Drafting and editing with a tool is fine, but don't take you out of what you share.
    b. Do not replace your EQ character's voice with an LLM. We don't want scripts that speak over /ooc, /shout or other public channels. This has been an unwritten rule that's kept casino scripts off the site for decades, but we're now compelled to make it clear: keep automated communication private.

    Why Does RG Review Scripts?
Nearly every LLM-written Lua script we see is making your character do impossible things, and rarely in a way that's beneficial to you. We've seen heavy server hammering, /target over impossible distances when /nav spawn would passively accomplish the same thing, a spawn search that fires 20+ times per second, and other pointless actions that are likely annoying GMs.

You are welcome to use LLMs as a tool to structure, draft, and edit your work, but please read critically before hitting /lua run

Pretty sure .PctAggro is broken too. It's coming back as always "1". It really hasn't affected anything other than FeignOnAggro % for certain classes running CWTN plugins won't feign ever. I only found it because I have an offtank Lua that relies on it for certain things and those things stopped working. That is has taken this long to even notice it means it doesn't matter much to me if it gets fixed. Just wanted to report it.

so been a bit .... safe to assume RIP test?
@iluvseq and @boxbuddy been doin the lion's share of test updates.

when they have stuff to test and build we'll do it in that order

dont forget dbg just put in additional stuff which does get put in the test build.

we were just about to test/build test when they patched.

so "rip test" is pretty unfair to the coupla folks who are trying to make it happen

edit: so it seems there was some miscommunication and failure on my part - I thought them patching on the 2nd was a patch (and my new patch checker i messed up how it checked for test), but they just took test down for maint and not for an update.

hopefully see if we can get a test build out tomorrow

How long did you wait? It's the largest file in the download, so if you're on a slow connect that could take awhile. Open up Task Manager and see if there's network activity on redfetch when i gets to VeryVanilla.zip
