did you install the rg launcher? and install/update mq that way? did you select the server version that fits your servre: live, test or EMU?

I did actually install the rg launcher. I also updated mq and i used the live version and still got those errors. But i will try again :)

I believe so i just checked the files so I am assuming that if i check the files then it would do an update but i will check again.
 
Did you launch from the RG icon in the system tray?

Also fyi probably don't want to post any info or screenshots here with character names visible.

as brainaic mentioned you're running a version that isn't matching your EQ version.

make sure to select the correct version in the rg launcher.

also, pleasse don't post images with character names.
 
Sorry about the names in the picture...I did try to update both the game and the Rg launcher. Here are some more errors.

you again posted images with your toon names.

please stop

not having access to a directory almost always means something like antivirus or file syncing issue (othertimes windows permission issue)

your "current version" is the rg launcher itself, not the MQ version.

click on the Very Vanilla tab.

Ummm I realized i was posting a picture that had names on it then i deleted it. Also you dont need to be rude about it especially since i am a paying customer. I am simply trying to get something I PAID For fixed. I apologise that you seem to have an issue with me as this is not my intention. I also did try the mq version and it does not allow me to automatically connect so instead of focusing on my pictures maybe YOU should focus on the problem I am having since I am pretty sure it isnt anything I am doing and the software.

I don't think i'm being rude, I'm sorry that is your experience. you have already been asked not to post images with your toon names in it - and you did it again.

Please realize that level of carelessness could result in everquest perma banning your characters - and > i < am actually taking time to promptly try and address that for YOU regardless of if you paid for RG or not.

if you want to get all "karen" about it, you should rethink how your feelings are affecting you at the moment.

i have (or had) zero issues with you personally, but i do think your attitude is unjustified.

the problem you are having is a listening/comprehension/attitude problem which prevents you from resolving the very minor issue you're having with macroquest/rg launcher.

brainiac already told you that the version of macroquest you tried to load was matching the TEST version of everquest not the LIVE version of everquest.

if the result of someone helping you is you getting snotty with them, i'd imagine folks aren't going to want to try and help you.
 
what you want to do:

- restart your computer
- check antivirus / file syncing
- - you need/want to ensure you don't have any RG, MQ, EQ files being held hostage (quarantine)
- - many folks whitelist those directories/sub-directories from AV/file syncing
- you will want to start rg launcher
- check the dropdown to ensure you're picking the type that matches the build you want LIVE for live servers, TEST for test build
- launch MQ via the RG launcher
- launch an eq profile (assuming you're already set one up)

- mq will try and "inject" into the EQ build running

Checking your downloads you can see at some point you downloaded the test version, and were trying to run that in your first image

I have Mq working in game but now the auto logging isnt working. Thanks for the infomation.

Entitled much? He was trying to help you and you came out full jackass mode. "it's" not broken and YOU are the pilot having the issue. The hard push for not posting char names is so some DBG member or white knight don't report you and get your toons in trouble but by all means post them again for someone to report you with. Tons of us are working just fine and your jackass attitude just made lots of people that would have normally tried to help go silent. Way to start!

I'm glad you got "it" working by patching as folks suggested. Now may I suggest a less Karen ask of support on autologin "issues".

Step away a bit ~ have a drink and a wank and maybe come back with a better attitude.
 
patcher is still saying patch day. I uninstalled and reinstalled and still says down patch day. any suggestions?
 
I remember the days when the fix was out in hours. LOL Not like I go to the site before starting up RG and all. But just another day. ^)

note: yes very random and weird update but not something I wouldn't normally just say update eq before checking here. These are far and few for sure Sic.

very vanilla seems to not be working on TLP's anymore (I know those servers are not supported, but it's been working). Any suggestions for other ways to help with running a 6 box crew? IS boxer? what's recommended to 6 box on a new server? Thanks.

The post right before you...he implicitly states to refrain. There are other threads asking about this problem, such as using ION, but many have gotten suspensions yesterday. There seems to not be a good/safe method at this time. The other threads are probably best suited to follow for this news.

yarp. hasn't been supported - which is why MQ unloaded every time you zoned previously - forcing a reinject to circumvent those truebox restrictions is exactly that - circumventing unsupported territory - so "it has been working" is a "well i potentially threw away all safeguards the MQ devs are providing me by forcing something on an unsupported server".

MQ is not supported on Truebox servers. If/When a server transitions into "relaxed truebox" or complete removal of truebox restrictions, MQ support would be added at *sometime* afterwards.

Other tools such as MySEQ and IonBC are available for truebox servers.


now keep in mind - myseq and ionbc and other broadcasters like isboxer, multiplicity, even parsec are having reports of people getting perma banned by trying to not respect the "truebox" spirit set by DBG.

you should for sure make your feelings known to dbg about their truebox servers.

since it unloaded whenever you zoned and camped to char select and what not, that did not indicate to you it was not working?.
 
i can launch with Auto login however I get this message I have to manually clear to continue launching toons, any ideas how to fix?

If you have already checked the RG Launcher Plugin Tab then read the following:
- The RG Launcher is unable to *delete* old files.
-- This means you will get an error box if you don't have a current plugin that matches the mq build
-- your options are:
--- a: purchase a license
--- b: delete the old .dll in your plugin folder, and/or
--- c: change your macroquest.ini to MQ2PluginName=0 under [Plugins]

this would have been this way since before today - as in unrelated to the hotfix.
 
Is anyone else seeing a spike in CPU usage? I sat down at my computer this morning to find the CPU fans whirring loudly and when I checked task manager it said MQ was using 10% of my cpu. I have just the MQ app in systray running (i.e. no eq instances or anything) and have rebooted, but it's still hanging around 7% while I would think it was just idling, and if I close the app the fans spin down. Any thoughts? I did patch in the last couple of days, but hadn't noticed anything before this morning. Any other data I can gather?
 
Has anyone noticed MQ having very high CPU usage since the May 26th Patch?

Even a freshly downloaded base version from the MQ Github I'm noticing very high CPU usage. EQ isn't even open.

Tested on two different systems, One Intel and one AMD based (not like it should matter) same issue.

Anyone else having this problem? Any workaround or options in MQ settings that would fix this?
 
oh hey, I thought it was just me. I posted here this morning not knowing where else to post
 
Fresh windows 10 install, fresh RG VV install, and my tray icon hovers around 7-8% CPU usage while idle and no EQ clients running. I had wondered if it was just me as well. Seems like that isn't the case.

No idea what it's doing to use that much CPU sitting idle.
 
I've got MQ showing a 20% draw on one machine and 11% on my second machine. First machine is higher core count and processor speed so not sure why it is nearly double. Character load on both machines is equal and the MQ draw remains high even with no characters loaded.
