The open sourceness of it has been nice for those of us who like to tinker. I have already fixed a couple things myself that were bugging me, and even have an extremely rough version of MQ2SlotColors functionality going while learning how to write a plugin.

What would be the best way to potentially contribute changes?

Does anyone know if MQ2Notepad will be converted over to Next? It doesn't seem to work in Next currently at least from my efforts. I am using this plugin for KA in MQ2 currently and attempted for Muleassist, but I think that plugin is just for KA though. I just really curious because of what I have seen from Next looks amazing and seems so so smooth compared to MQ2, so I am trying to attempt to be fully on Next here soon. Thank for your thoughts and time.

I've updated it for Next, it'll be in the next build. The default paths for editing are the macro directory, but I'm guessing the use case that should probably change to the config directory, but I left it as is for now.

I have noticed that the settings for my MQ window and my MQSay windows are not saving. Each time I log in, the "Esc to close" setting is turned back on and those windows will close when I do a /cleanup. In addition, when I use the /cleanup command, it opens my inventory. Not seeing this behavior using MQ2.

to save window settings you have to close and reopen them with a /show command similar to what CWTN plugins require.

Problem is, neither of those windows have a "close" button on the UI and both window's "close" option in the menu is greyed out. Only way I can figure to close the window would be to set it to "esc to close", which would save it that way...

This isn’t the case, window settings are saved at a lot of different points. If they weren’t, your windows would move every time you reloaded your UI (which happens quite frequently in EQ). Notably, both camping and zoning save your window settings.

I don’t ever use /cleanup, so I’ll have to look to see if I can reproduce that behavior of opening your inventory when you use it.

But the other behavior isn’t something in the ChatWnd or Say plugins. Do you by chance have your main EQ chat window set to allow escape to close?

I do not have the main chat window set to esc to close. Is there a per character setting for this? I've tried everything I can think of. I have set it not to esc to close, zoned, camped, relogged... I even set it, zoned, then made MQChatWnd.ini and MQSay.ini read only, camped, etc. and still no dice.

Are you using a custom UI? I feel like I’ve heard of something like this before and it turned out to be a UI issue.

Try renaming your UI_ files in your EQ directory and see if you still have the problem.

Crashing on trade as soon as I click accept. Doesn't mater if i click accept on the person doing the trade first or the person accepting the trade first. i thought it might have been autoaccept so i unloaded that and tried again but crashes persist.

I am using a custom UI. I was using Graphite with MQ2 and decided to try out Zliz with Next. To test, I changed to the default UI and changed the settings so that it won't close on esc. Zoned, camped completely out of game, relogged; back to esc to close being checked. Changed the name of my UI_ file in the EQ directory, switched to it and still the same. I switched it back to zliz and then camped everyone out completely (6 toons). I closed Next and ran MQ2. Logged in everyone and low and behold, the settings were correct (no esc to close). I camped everyone out completely, shut down MQ2 and loaded Next. Logged everyone in and back to esc to close checked. Seems that none of the UI windows that are part of Next have this issue for me. The PluginManager and DPSADV windows are not saving their settings either. I will add that when all this started, the CWTN windows stopped being visible when I logged in as well. Every time I log in to Next, I have to /reloadui to get the CWTN windows to show. Once they are on screen, they do not have esc to close checked. The CWTN windows are showing upon log in to MQ2.

I have been having intermittent crashes when camping for both Next and MQ2. I will PM you the dumps.

Extra info: I am using ISBoxer to log in my toons and for window management (works perfectly w/ MQ2; not so much w/ Next, but that's a different issue). I updated Next this morning when I saw there was a new build, but still having the same issue. My main rig's GPU went out about a week ago so I'm now on a spare machine. This one was in the Window's insider program (forgot about that) and unfortunately I am now running Win 11. Pls let me know if there is more info you need or anything else I can try.

This is definitely autoloot, I’ve got a new build coming but it’s going to be about 45 minutes.

edit: That sounds like I’m contradicting you saying you unloaded it, but what I mean is — all of the trade crashes that got reported this morning have autoloot in their call stack. Last night’s build had an issue so the current build is actually running the old autoloot code.

Sounds good, thanks for the update.

I still can't get autoloot to sort properly on mq btw. I have to manually place all of my entries under the correct letter for autoloot to recognize it. If i just copy and paste a list in to the loot.ini (such as from the chase loot thread) autoloot doesn't recognize it. Would it be possible to add scanning for the entire ini and then sort based off of that? not sure how it's done now.

New build should be up now (it's the same version number, I just rebuilt it). Can you PM me your autoloot ini?

edit: AutoLoot is still crashing trades it appears. I'll look at it.

edit again: Alright, previously when I said the AutoLoot trade crash would be fixed in the next (now current) build, I was apparently straight up lying. So you probably shouldn't trust me when I say that AutoLoot will be fixed in the next build (but I found the issue and it will be).

and you can use Knightly's > Next Migration Tool < to move your settings/meshes

Did all the things, ran the migration tool, and now it wont run half of my plugins and my come to me and follow me buttons are missing. Also, how do we get the BCS server up so the toons can talk to each other? its telling me its not connected but when i do /bccmd connect it just tells me it cant connect.

MQ2Eqwire wont load.

A few other things I cant remember at the moment.

Loaded up MQnext and got a few issues that came up.

- I have no come to me or follow me buttons on my UI in MQnext. What's the work around for this?
- Cannot connect to EQBCS or EQBCS2 server. Toons cannot see each other

1. In MacroQuest(Next) they divided the mq2targetinfo plugin into 3 plugins, one to handle each of the windows it goes into
- Mq2targetinfo for targetwindow info
- Mq2groupinfo for groupwindow
- Mq2Xtarinfo for extended target info window

2. Eqbcs or eqbcs2 server you need to copy the exe file from your old mq2 folder into the new MacroQuest(Next) folder and make sure its called EQBCS.EXE then you can load it from the trayicon menu, the very vanilla launcher has yet to enable that featuer as eqbcs.exe is not distributed with MacroQuest(Next)

These are the plugins that weren't loading by default for me, SIC helped me pinpoint them in discord so make sure you load these to get the functionality back that you may be missing after the move.
/plugin mq2targetinfo load
/plugin mq2xtarinfo load
/plugin mq2groupinfo
/plugin mq2map load

Can i Run bcs2 or just bcs?

We have a built in frame limiter. Check the MacroQuest menu (by pressing the EQ button) or run /framelimit or /mqsettings)
One of the issues I was having was solved by EQwire... My Toons were lagging cause FPS was down low.... will this allow you to run background tasks at higher fps with less graphics so they program isnt limited or will it do something different?

Yes, the suggestion I made for how to replace eqwire will replace eqwire :D

It has a simulation rate that allows you to specify what you want your “action” rate to be and there are a lot of other cool options to tweak it however you like. In general you should get better performance out of the built in frame limiter than you got out of eqwire. We’re using different methods that are more effective at reducing load.

Im loading from system tray but it wont connect still.. what folder do i put them in?
I have mine in the MQNext folder, but I don't use the system tray.

Is it running? You would have to /bccmd connect 127.0.0.1
If you are already logged in.

You don’t need “load” in that command and mq2map should be on by default, but the information about us having split out the plugins is good info.

Can i mod the fps settings on one and it cross to the other clients or do i need to update in each instance?

Last write wins, if you’re doing it in game then the settings will only apply to the client that you’re doing it on. But if you set it how you like on one that’s the setting that will be used next time you start the game for all of them.

I've asked for them to make it character specific so when you log/logoff it saves the settings and reloads them for that character only like you can do for mq2hud but no luck yet ;)

Hi everyone. Working on that list Knightly... One that causes CTD is Mq2DamageMeter ... This one CTD as soon as you do anything (if you can even get it to log in.)

Zeb

My Nav is not walking me places when I Ctrl+F them. Just giving me the magic path thing like i dont have it up. I loaded mq2nav but its not "navving".

is there something i gotta do to get meshes up or something?
