Instructions


  1. Use the Patchme command to bypass the SOE Launcher
  2. Download the Very Vanilla compile zip file at the bottom of this post.
  3. Download the RGUpdater.
  4. Use the RGUpdater to update your MacroQuest files. Instructions are here.
  5. Run MacroQuest2.exe from that folder
  6. Run EverQuest.exe
  7. In-Game, type "/plugin <plugin name>" to add all plugins you wish to use
  8. Click Here for Plugin Commands/Descriptions.

Mas and Redbot and Tree and anyone else that helps. You guys are the reason I have returned to EQ. I feel like I'm living the game I once loved again by having so much flexibility and fun on my own now.
It's amazing what you accomplish on a weekly, even daily basis.

If you can't see the MQ2 Window, check your MacroQuest.ini and make sure you have mq2chatwnd=1 under [plugins]

You can also check MQ2ChatWnd.ini and make sure the window coordinates are in a viewable area. If you're not sure if the coordinates are in a vieweable area, then just delete MQ2ChatWnd.ini and have it be generated again.

Wonder how redcents catching the Red Master in a slight error is worth...

Maskoi is re-doing the compile, that should actually fix the xtarg issue.

Xtarget does not work on TLP servers with any compile.
If it did, like people say it does with ours we know nothing about it.
Its pure luck and coincidence.

if you were to use these commands on Ragefire or Lockjaw

Those that are crashing please try the Very Vanilla Compile 20150901.zip Compile.

See if it fixes the crashes

Ok, I dd a game update a few days ago. MQ2 stopped working so I've downloaded this compile and I am getting a couple of error messages.

First, when loading it tells me the injection fails.

Second, when logged in, I get a message in the MQ2 window "Could not /loadcfg 'zoned' "

This is the same error someone above was getting but when addressed by others .. the error was left out and people were telling him/her how to activate the MQ2 window. Well that's not the problem, the window is there.

Help?

Try rebooting your computer for the first one.

Its a windows issue. I has to do with running mq2 as admin. Its annoying but harmless and something we have to live with for now.

appears because you dont have the \mq2\configs\Zoned.cfg file.

Inside the zoned.cfg file you can setup stuff like
/SetWinTitle ${Me.Name} (${Me.Level} ${Me.Class}) - ${Zone.Name}

which would change the windows title to "Name (Lv Class) - Name of Zone" everytime you zone.

In the old Compile MQ2 pretty often crashed while zoning, because of "some" bugs there (You need to as eqmule for details, because i dont know them). He changed the way the config is loaded and also implemented this debug message. If you would create the config file, you would not see the message :)
