Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140411

crashed my EQ instances even without ISBoxer. I didn't have time to troubleshoot this morning before work, so I just reverted and ran my morning H.A.+LOTD :).

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140411

April 11th compile has caused me to crash every time I load it.
Loaded the April 4th compile and it seems to be working fine.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140411

I use Isboxer (great software for boxing) and was having issues. What fixed it for me was wiping out the entire MQ2 directory and installing the 0411 compile. There might have been a missmatch from the previous version to the new compile from scratch.

Hope this helps.

P.

EDIT: I tried the 0411 compile with the updater and it would not update the macroquest.exe file. I extracted a new exe from the 0411 compile but it still crashed. Just wanted to clarify that the only thing that worked for me is wiping out and starting from nothing.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140411

Did the same as PsiMoon. I copied all INI files for Macroquest2 and in my Macros folder, deleted everything but updater and source folders to clean everything out, and ran the updater. Then I copied my Macroquest ini and macro INI files back over. Only way I could get it to work. Some files for whatever reason weren't getting overwritten. I made sure Macroquest2.exe wasn't loaded and Process Explorer didn't show it either. Have no idea what the actual problem was.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140411

RGUpdater is currently sick, I'm making it some chicken soup now.

For now it's back to downloading the release.zip and extracting it like the old days. Sorry guys, new updater will be much better though.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140411

I can seem to get the macro to work anymore. it says wrong client when i load up everquest and i've tried downloading every client....

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140411

Use the rgupdater in a brand new folder please and see that works. Then you can copy your ini files from the old folder into the new one

Could not get any other of the suggestions to work out but this did. Thanks! :) Looking forward to see the new RGupdater.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140411

Add me to the list that needs to use the Apr 4 compile (happens to me on both computers). Do you need any help tracking down the cause? I'm pretty good at that if I can pull away from playing everquest for a while...

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140411

From what I've gathered you NEVER want to run RGUpdater when MQ2 or EQ is already running. That's what corrupts the shit and causes all those sorts of errors.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140411

The scribe macro seems to be broken with the 0411 compile but works with the 0404 compile.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140411

Yar a new fixed was released I will post the new compile later today.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140411

Used the new RGupdater, but getting a weird error:

Inject Failed
The parameter is incorrect

It's logging in though, gonna check if everything is working.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140411

I will be uploading a new live compile later today.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140411

It was still working with some minor login error's.

Now it's just pulling and tanking my cleric's mount /giggle

Tried a clean compile but both aren't working for me anymore =(

- - - Updated - - -

Got it working again with the latest compile /cheer

Still getting some login error's though, but I can neglect them =)

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140411

NEW COMPILE UPLOADED Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

All of the fixes rolled into the new compile.
USE THE NEW RGUpdater v 1.0.3

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

Is it all working for you?

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

Still getting the same error when logging in, but once logged in its all good =)

- - - Updated - - -

Still cant bash when mounted though, dunno if thats a fix for you Maskoi or someone else.

And when tanking mounted the tank positions exactly in the middle of the mob (even when using 'front 20'), unmounted it's all good.

- - - Updated - - -

Like what you did with the looking view! No more looking at the ground when pulling =)

Also disarm is kicking in now /cheer

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

The versioning listed on the home page is a bit confusing because it still lists the version as 20140404 which means you don't know about the crash updates unless you click for the version you already have.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

The home page usually reflects the latest EQ patch. Just watch or subscribed to the man thread for updates between patches. Sorry for the confusion.

Ahh, okay. Generally the wording on it would indicate that the date was the latest compile of VV not of EQ. It might be a good idea to change the wording on the tag to read something like "Very Vanilla compile x for EQ patch date y" or list the version number as yyyymmdd.rev or something to signal the release of a fix.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

Still getting this while launching via ISBoxer:

Software: Inner Space Session 1.13 (Tue Apr 15 21:09:02 2014)
Crash: 0x7715AAC5: Exception 0xc0000005 reading from address 0x00000001 in module MQ2Main.dll

Registers:
-----------------------------------
eax=00000001 ebx=76C6530D ecx=00000000 edx=02830ABB
edi=02830ABC esi=02830AB0 ebp=0322F96C esp=0322815C

Edit: It's crashing with a fresh install and no extra plugins, though it will rarely launch. The 04/04 compile works fine for me still.

Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

Thanks for the report. By fresh install do you mean a totally new folder? And curious what you mean by rarely - how often does it crash? Also what OS are you using?

Anyone else having issues with ISBoxer?

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

Thanks guys, I'll look into it.

If you can do me a favor, try downloading the veryvanilla .zip file, extract it, and run macroquest2.exe on its own - don't use rgupdater at all. Tell me if that fixes things.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

At home in about 30 min, will try it out then.

That fixes the error given when starting up, dunno about the crashes yet though.

I've been messing with this on and off for a couple days when I get time. Unzipping it to it's own completely new folder seems to be ok. As soon as I copy my configs back in I start crashing on launch. I tried disabling plugins one at a time after copying my existing configs into a new folder from the .zip but it still crashed every time. I'm on Windows 8.1 here. I don't use rgupdater.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

This is why you are crashing on the 4/19 you have to copy the new ItemDb.txt from the 4/19 zip into your mq2 folder. There have been changes in the mq2 source code and it requires the new files. The first few lines in the new one look like this
Rich (BB code):
1348	1	Muzzle of Mardu
1726	100	Shattering Hammer
2441	20	Brell's Blessed Stout
2671	20	Withered Manisi Leaf
3405	1	Phantom Leather Skullcap
3406	1	Phantom Leather Tunic
3407	1	Phantom Leather Sleeves
3408	1	Phantom Leather Bracer
3409	1	Phantom Leather Gloves
3410	1	Phantom Leather Leggings
3411	1	Phantom Leather Boots
3412	1	Phantom Chain Coif
3413	1	Phantom Chain Coat

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

Awesome, thanks. I had just been updating the executables and dlls.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

Is it working for you now?

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

Are you guys using the new rgupdate?

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

Yea, it's working now. My itemdb.txt was old. Rgupdate 1.0.2 missed it originally so after that MQ didn't work and I was trying to manually update from there. Thanks for the help.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

I am using the new updater and also had that new itemdb already.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

Anything on the crashing with ISBoxer yet guys? =(

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

As far as we could tell it was itemdb.txt. Have you tried a complete separate new install of the compile to see just to make sure?

There is a new source code out with a CTD fix. I will compile and release it later to day. Maybe that will solve your issue.

Re: Very Vanilla Compile 20140419

Yeah will wait for that then, have tried several clean installations already.
