Hey Guys,

From what I gather, you need to do all of the explorer achievements (for each expansion) to fully unlock these boots.

With that being said, does anyone happen to have, or know where, a guide would be for doing the explorer achievements? Something that connects the zones in the most logical/timely fashion?

Time spent waiting for a guide is time not spent just hitting up zones. I tried to logically figure out the fastest way to each of the zones, but what I found was I just wasting time. Use your achievements tab (because not all zones are required for the explorer achievement).

There was something about the LDoN stuff, using the hunter or named mission what ever they call them and certain names spawned in specific zones not sure if it was here somewhere or daybreak forums

I wanna be lazy, anyone write a macro to do the running around =P

This is good stuffs!

Untill the latest nav is pushed into the redguides build the error with location out of range will still take effect. According to @brainiac he has the fix done, so once the nav update is done a macro can be written.

The only thing I have found is just a list of the zones you need to travel to. Nothing posted anywhere of most time efficient way to run around to each zone. I did find https://achievements.eqresource.com/subcategories.php?id=102 not sure if this helps anymore than opening up the achievement box in game and looking at the zones you need.
@Denethor has been working on an extensive explore.mac with the purpose of getting explorer achievs. It is in the testing phase atm. Many, many, many hours have gone into this thing.

because there are so many things like boats, and vendors, and all sorts of other whacky eq type stuff, it is a very large undertaking and it will be very satisfying when it is complete

@Denethor is in the process of finalizing a macro that will make use of the MQ2Nav fixes recently done to do the explorer achievements (and a few other things, I believe) for you. My understanding is you’ll only need to do the LDoN and housing explorer stuffs yourself.

It's in testing now.
Does all non-instanced zones required for boots. It'll do the RoF language quests, and attune you to the portals. It detects locked / keyed zones and resumes without them. There's a lot that is going in to this. It's ~11K lines of code (the size of KissAssist, although not as efficiently coded). And LDoN support *MAY* get added it the future. Currently adding in automatic restocking of potions (Cloudy and Ant), and trying to improve the combat subsystem. I need a better on-death handler. And I need to bake in support for the rogue goblin disguise AA as a way of shrinking. And a few other things... :P

I have 2 active (and 3 inactive) testers right now. And spend several hours a day working on it.

Do you have enough active testers to get through all of this?

Thanks for asking (and the implied offer) @Sum1. I have as many as I'm comfortable with at the moment.

(P.s. - Sic just closed 2 more issues.)

lol, oh, I had been way more overt with my offers in the past. I was legit wondering if you were good with the level of testing support or if you thought you needed more. I recognize that sometimes too much help is worse than too little.

From the DBG forums:

The following changes will be in the next patch:
- Housing Explorer (Achievement) - Visiting Evantil's Abode, Hermit's Hideaway, and Bixie Hive houses are now optional for completing this achievement.
- Guild Locals Explorer (Achievement) - Visiting Grand, Modest, and Palatial Guild Halls are now optional for completing this achievement.

Any update on the forth coming macro to complete the adventurer tasks, as just about to start a round world trip to upgrade mine.

How long (hours) would this take for someone to just look at the achievements and start running to all the zones?

We're up to 154 closed issues. One currently open awaiting retest. More may be opened, but for now, one left.
Sic was in the middle of a test run when servers went down. We were hoping for a complete untounched run, and were close. He was at 9.37Hr, and he was up to SoF. Probably publish when we can get a complete pure run through.

I expect total run time will be close to the 17 or 18 hour mark.

Doe's anyone know, what progression you need to complete to unlock zones for the boots to update?
Nice going on the macro to all involved!

PoP - Need Lair of Terris Thule access. Gain this via the Hedge Maze Event.

SoD - Old Blackburrow access
My mac will automatically get the quest that grants access if you don't have it already.

RoF - Welcome to Shard's Landing and Words of the Unspoken quests.
Macro will automatically run these if required. Then will get the Portal Activation quests, and will activate each portal along the way.

TDS - Progresion.
The macro will detect the locked zone and skip the appropriate zones. Makes no attempt to do the progression for you.

That's what I can remember off the top of my head.

Will it be a one shot macro that you gotta let do the full run, or can you let it run for 2-3 hours one day, then start it up again another day and so forth until it finishes?

you can specify which paths you want it to run.

As an example, you could tell it to run the paths for SoF, SoD, RoK, RoV one day.

Then do OoW, PoR, Odus the next day.

etc. there’s a path for each expansion and then paths for specific old world sections (Antonica is split into SE, SW, NE, and NW Antonica).

I am willing to donate for early access too!

I completed this on 7 toons so far and do not have the heart to run it again for my new bots. Ty in advance.

Same, finishing off 10% of the total zones cause the current on cant do it all would still save 90% of the work....

We have a new issue opened this morning. Pathing problem in a zone we've run 3 dozen times and never had a pathing problem in before.

That's what we've been dealing with for WEEKS now. We'll not make any mesh or code changes to a zone, but it'll suddenly get stuck on something. Or it'll get to a re-factor point in the path and start "ping-pong'ing" like it doesn't know which direction to go. Sic was 10 hours into the test this time...

I’ve seen that behavior in OT (old one) and a few other places. Mostly all old world zones, iirc. I’ll make a note next time.

skipping TDS and VP, and most of TBL, so toss in another 20 minutes

Also, FYI...

For doing the LDoN explore section, don't use the single boss type. Mathematically, it's advantageous to actually use the "Collection" task type over and over until you have all your zones. You have to zone in to see which zone you pop into (which is annoying), but you have a better chance to get the zone you need than if you were requesting single boss missions.
