Question - Type 7/8 Aug Strategy for PL'd/new Characters?

I'm looking for any strategies you power PL'ers utilize to aug your new characters. So far I've done a great job farming gear (drop like candy in TBM missions), but I'm finding 90% of type 7/8 aug slots empty because farming augs is a bit more difficult.

How do you guys go about it?

hunt namers, if ftp go to tbm and do the heroic in hot (if heroiced). other than that rof is a great expac for 40+ ac augs for tanks and caster augs too, tds is a pain but has some of the highest ac augs in the game

For type 7/8, I just use Raidloot.com to look for non-prestige augs with the highest stat I am interested in (usually AC for my tanks) and go hunt for them. Really the only worthwhile non-prestige augs are the few from The HA vendor in Tainted West Karanas and from the zonewide drops in hotzones. Oh, and if the toon is heroic, do the quests in Feerott and House of Thule for the heroic augs.

It depends how quickly you need the new character to be effective... When I was leveling up my main tank (SK), I went and grabbed a full set of flameshield stone and shard of the guardian to grab a quick 200AC worth of augs before hunting good ones in newer content.

For 105 toons I hunt augs in TBM off named mobs using this list of augs:

The rare drops are harder to get and I first put them on my tank than moved to cleric, but they do show up have 3 full sets of them and some types a couple extras.
As for the normal named augs, I like to save that for those "extra rare spawn" weekends I will pick a camp grab enough of that type for everyone than move on. This last weekend I was able to get enough of Condensed Desiccated Bile x 8 toons, Embalmers Cataylist x 8, Rummages Bauble x 3 and Speed of Darkness x 2.

Thanks, dude! I'm seeing a similar list when messing with raidloot.com. I also prioritize hagi and hdex on most of my non-caster toons. I need to spend time camping the Rationalist Sigil... I didn't notice that was a shield aug!

I'm also having a hell of a time with a few other named guys and the gear they drop. I always seem to get 28273763 of an item I don't need before I get the ONE item I actually want.
