Question - Trying to find a combination of KISS settings for range between tanks and DPS

I have been consistently having issues with using KISS on an entire group where one of the following can happen:

1. Tank races out to engage a mob that is farther from camp than I would like, melee DPS either don't come out to assist him, or end up being stuck because they're outside the camp return radius after the mob dies
2. Tank and melee DPS end up so far from camp that they don't return after the mob dies, so when the puller comes into camp, he's stuck basically soloing the mob with the aid of the ranged DPS

If I set the tank's engage radius too low, he'll sit at the camp while other people engage the mob farther out. If I set the tank's radius too high, he'll engage too far from camp and other DPS won't assist. If I set the DPS radius too low, they won't engage outside camp, if I set the DPS radius too high, they engage early and sometimes the tank doesn't actually tank. I basically have a contradictory and conflicting set of settings. Every permutation I can think of results in some undesired behavior. Can anyone recommend a strategy for how to configure my distances/radiuses in KISS so that the tank and melee DPS aren't constantly causing problems for each other?

Post your ini please. Most likely it is an issue with your CampRadius and MeleeDistance, and what location you start everyone..

Here's an example from one of my tanks:

Code:
[General]
KissAssistVer=10.2.6
CampRadius=300
CampRadiusExceed=400
ReturnToCamp=0
ChaseAssist=0
ChaseDistance=25
[Melee]
AssistAt=99
MeleeOn=1
FaceMobOn=1
MeleeDistance=75
StickHow=snaproll rear
AutoFireOn=0
UseMQ2Melee=1

Here's one of my DPS (all my DPS use these same settings):

Code:
[General]
KissAssistVer=10.2.6
CampRadius=45
CampRadiusExceed=400
ReturnToCamp=0
ChaseAssist=0
ChaseDistance=25
[Melee]
AssistAt=95
MeleeOn=1
FaceMobOn=1
MeleeDistance=75
StickHow=snaproll rear
AutoFireOn=0
UseMQ2Melee=1

ReturnToCamp=0 tells your toons not to return to camp after combat. Change that to =1.

CampRadias=300 is excessive. Change that to something much lower (can match your dps setting and see what happens).

That's a weird one. I definitely don't recall setting my camp radius to 300. Maybe I did it by accident when trying to set my pull radius at some point in the past. Couple questions about this
1. What's the relationship between ReturnToCamp and the slash command /camphere 1? I've been using camphere when I wanted my guys stationary. I didn't use ReturnToCamp in the kiss file because I'm really mobile and ran into issues when I didn't control my camp stuff manually
2. If my camp radius is set to 30 but my MQ2Melee distance is set to 75, will that cause my guys to run out and engage at a distance of 75, then never return to camp because it's outside the camp radius?

ReturnToCamp=0 After camp is clear, stay where ever you wound up. If you have it off, but stay at the same camp, sometimes a melee toon will slowly creep away from the party. Particularly if they can grab aggro, like bard song or a big dmg hit at start of fight. Makes the mob keep moving away from camp. If you change zones after starting KA, this should set back to zero.
ReturnToCamp=1 After camp is clear, run back to your exact camp spot. I think this is based on if you're within 15 feet of your camp loc.
CampRadiusExceed=400 This setting is related, in that if you're not pulling and wind up beyond this distance from camp, KA will automatically turn off ReturnToCamp. If you get CoH'd or mob summons you to spawn or such.

/camphere = Resets your camp location. It is also set by default where ever you start KA.

So if you're using Chase or moving your toons, you want ReturnToCamp off. But if you're fighting somewhere where you need your group to stay tight (like a small dungeon room or narrow safe spot) then ReturnToCamp is good. More info on all the available KA commands and settings in the KA Instructions page.

I use a hotkey that turns everybody's camp off before moving. Then another hotkey drops invis & resets /camphere when we get to new camp.

I think camp radius overrides melee distance settings, but if you're in chase mode, maybe you need to compare results. For your question, your guys should still run back if they're at 75 from camp. Toons will follow a running mob for a little bit and still come back.
