Is there a program for trade skills at all and how would it work? Would it go kill the dropped stuff or do I have to get a list and go round it all up? I am trying to max my artisan prize and looking for a little help. Thx

there are several tradeskill macros in the macro library

and jande has a paid-for macro for maxing your artisan prize specifically > HERE <

Just curious...Does it tell me what to go farm and put in bags from vendors..then I turn it on and it does combine? I don't mind paying for it just curious what to expect. Thx for info guys

First, you configure it to do combines for a specific skill.
It checks your known recipes against an internal list of all necessary recipes that count for AP and selects what is left to combine.
Then it tries to make all of those recipes using what is in your inventory.
If it can't make a certain recipe, it writes the missing ingredients to a .txt file and skips to the next recipe
After the first cycle, you'll have a shopping list in a .txt file so that you can go round up all those things and then try again.
Continue cycling through as you farm more mats and eventually the list will get smaller and smaller
You'll want to be careful *NOT* to destroy/sell an item that is used as a subcombine of another recipe.
It also has sub-macros that will grab needed things out of your bank an purchase from vendors.

It doesn’t tell you where to farm, but it tells you what needs to be farmed/obtained and does a pretty good job telling you what is vendor purchased. I used @jande ’s TS macro to max my artisan’s prize on two toons … it’s seriously the best macro on the site.

I too highly suggest jande's macro. It may seem like a lot of info but the macro does so much and has made TS a breeze for me to max out the TS skills to 350 along with artisan's prize. :)

On this note I am totally newb when it comes to tradeskill quests including the shawl, never had my toons max lvl during the proper era to worry about doing the quests. I do have specific toons with certain TS trophies, but I do not have one toon that has more than 2. My question is about the quests. Since there are a couple skills that are race / class specific, how does one max out this quest item if you can't learn that skill?

Thanks. I will have to buy this thing when I get ready to start doing them, i feel that it is gonna be a pita to do 6 of them :( well not so much a pita with this addon, but still super expensive.

It's still an enormous time sink to farm all of the mats and there's no way around that.
You don't need those, just get the ones you can. Also, they don't all have to be 350, but I'm not sure yet what the number is, I'm doing it now!
The actual Artisan's Prize quest *does* require seals from *every* tradeskill, including the race/class restricted ones. You'll have to get them from another player. Hopefully someone on your server has them in bazaar. To make matters even worse, that person needs to have progressed the AP quest to the point that allows them to make the seals, including all the pre-reqs. You can't just take a Poisonmaker alt and do seals without going through the whole process on that alt.

Basically collect the groundspawns for AP and hand them in. Bit of running around lets say 1hr tops, that is all you need. Personally have a rogue and shaman without AP doing those seals. My tinkerer actually have a AP fully evolved

Flattery would get you nowhere ! Doubt it is the best :P there are so many great macros on here.

Fishing (250) + 7 others (350) + 1 (328) should max the AP. Guessing that you have 22 points spare and can spread them across the tradeskills if you want to.

Expensive is an understatement. I feel the bazaar is casino, in the end the house always wins.

Research the forums, there are several tradeskill helpers that automate tradeskills, do the beginner quests in abysmal and/or crescent reach, then get your trophy quests and trophies, get all of your tradeskill books, (there is a couple options for that on the forums as well), then find the cheapest route to grind out your skills to 250-300. Then get the Artisan Prize macro by jande or research other scripts on the forums.

Jandes is great for the end prize, but right off the get go you will end up spending a lot of plat failing combines and farming mats or getting not skilled enough and end up with a lot of sub-combines you have to bank because you can't use them at the time. If you are going to use Artisan Prize macro, use it in the beginning to automate the grind to 250-300 before trying to max them out.

Yes, this. I bought all my seals in the bazaar for 6.8M plat on Bertox.

Don't you need the pre-reqs: Aid Grimel (including pop raid flagging), Earring of the Solstice and Eron's Jewelry completed before you can even start the groundspawn collection?
