With 2 months into ToV I guess it's time to reveal the farming spot for ultra rares.

Personally I like the crystal grinder spawn closest to Rygorr mine (in the abandoned coldain camp). Good source of silk for T3 as well as away from most trains. Any named coldain in EW/GD tends to have nasty root to mess up with your puller, although Laima Ratgur is still a good camp if you have a caster group.

With a strong group, one can try ToFS library as ghosts have relatively low hp.

Which zones are the least populated now? I’ve barely stepped foot in ToV.

My server has lots of people and usually multiple /picks at any given time. I wouldn’t recommend afk farming in ToV.

The Laima camp the OP mentioned, for example, is RIGHT at a critical part of the earring quest. People come by there often to get their quest stuff done.

FYI anyone in dead hills better watch out, as there is a post about it on DPG forums.

If you're farming for ultra rares, don't pick a spot with a named spawn and stay away from quest areas. Anywhere off the beaten path and enough mobs to keep you going is going to fly under the radar of 99% of the server population

I spent a few days in Coldain cave, GD. But that was before earring quest live. Anyway now you need to break in as there is mob that sees thru IVU.

I actually found ToV T2 to be easier to farm as much higher mob density, to you will need a solid group

I dont condone afk farming , only afk grinding exp! /ducks

Seriously though, I have spent alot of hours in the ToV zones and there isnt one that I have found that produces ultra rares over another. Same RNG formula as the last time imo.

ToV outdoor mobs are a bit too spread out, travelling time for puller kinda erodes the overall effectiveness of kill per time.

As for T2 indoor / T1 cave spawns, you need a pretty good group to hold them. Velk or ToFS is pretty good.

Great divide has a lot of mobs and some really good camps. I’m getting ready to start mission 7 on the evolving earring and have done all my evolving XP in GD even for some of the TBL evolving items goes fast pretty much non stop pulls.

In ToV one of the nicer spots I've found is to get the mission Restless Assault from Zrelik, zone into the instance, set my SK to Hunter mode with the rest of the group on /afollow and turn them loose on the Wurm caves. Very good EXP and save the collectibles for bazaar as they sell pretty well.

Don't bother with the Tizmak caves because pathing is always an issue and your support characters will always get hung up in the geometry.

One lesson burn about clears the wurms. And did I mention it was an instance so you can do other things for a while?

Damn you my secret place is out. It's pretty rough in T1 gear though, there's one pretty awful pull in there.

Yeah, it can be pretty damn exciting at times! Luckily the wurms are mostly mezzable!
the damn coldains (in the raid instance anyway) hit like freakin trucks. The Wurms are a walk in the part compared to those damn little dwarfs.

Agree. I have spent 1000s (Thousands of hours) farming and less than a dozen rares. Rare means Ultra Rare.

Apologies for resurrecting a 2 year old post. I just started ToV and need some T1 armor. Is there a good named to camp for it or is it pretty much long ass respawn times for all of them?

I see two areas of concentration of wolves, one East/SE from Cadcane's spot, and one West by zone in to Kael Drakkal. I am currently hunting the dwarves in the hut by the East one, by Cadcane

Windchill I believe is the named wolf. An easy camp as all mobs there are no aggro (but social). Plenty of room to pull singles. As Berkz said, its next to the zone out to Kael.

If you line up just right you can pulled both the wolf and the ghoul at that camp... I prefer to use the SW corner of the giant fort to establish camp (in the vicinity, distance you're comfortable being away from mobs)... and that way you can knock out two names' worth of drops + spells and whatnot...

Opposed to buying from bazaar? Or are they overpriced on your server?

Cadcane/Coldears

Windchill/Bolman

Servant/Returned/Sofia

You may be right. I will probably just bite the bullet and buy the armor. I am getting a little gun-shy about setting a camp here in EW with almost 30 people on

The tizmak caves in the non-instanced GD zone are a pretty good leveling spot. Dense mobs though, so unless you have CC and a decent tank things can be tough. The mobs have low HP and there are no named and nothing in there is on a quest line. As a bonus, there are two empty caves you can set a CF in safely.

If you ever need help with gear on FV let me know.
we have literally billions of plat at this point, happy to help out a fellow FV player.
BTW Eq, I sent you a DM, did you get it? No, not for gear or plat :)
