Leveling - Toskirakk decent plat and good exp for 85+

I have been killing in Toskirakk for a couple of weeks now. I have managed to take my Mage, Ranger, and Monk from 86 to 96 here. Recently added a Cleric Enchanter and SK to the mix to save on not using mercs and get more plat. Average about 50-75k, from plat on the mobs and vendor trash, in about 20 hours of AFKing. I took the CLE ENC and SK from 85 to 89 here in 2 or 3 days of AFKing. Now I have found a new area that I am trying out so far it is good.

Here is a map of where I camped and how to get there.
Toskirakk.png

easy fast kills when I did the Mage Ranger and Monk combo I used two clerics and a wizard merc for added dps and let the monk pull and tank.

was mostly single pulls but sometimes got pulls of 2-3 mobs that was what the 2 clerics were there for at the lower levels of 85-90

And the zone is mostly dead hardly saw maybe 1 or 2 people in the zone while I was there.

Hope this helps people

Hey my little redcent icon disappeared...

This is also where I headshotted heavily with my ranger not so long ago. I can confirm it's pretty good place to get gems and stuff.

Awesome spot but for just the near future, you WILL encounter people walking directly past your camp when they are en-route to doing Plane of War flagging quest. Other than that, once basically everyone is done with that, I'd say it's one of those spots that's so far off the beaten path that you will never be bothered.

Yea I never noticed anyone except one guy doing one quest out of random for the zone. And I did not know about the flagging for PoWar thanks for the heads up Tarquinn

I'm using this spot now on my server. Running 5 bots and a merc. Right around 15 hours of running and have picked up about 50k (that's just mob coin and what I could sell on /barter, loads of spells and vendor trash to sell still). Can't complain about that lol. Although with Krono costing about 650k, I'll have to do this non stop for at least a week, maybe 2, just to buy 1 >.<

-Edit-

Ok, so after selling off the vendor trash, I actually banked a grand total of 100k for 15-16 hours.

Does anyone have any other spots to suggest? Would be pretty awesome to have a thread for this sort of thing.

I been doing a discrete team in the grounds, the loot guy only loots once in awhile and the rest is the mercs doing all the killing, I get 250 or so gems every night and a ton of wings, heads and whatever the snake things are, overall I get over 150k in an 8 hour stretch.... more if I drive for a bit and pull even more mobs!

Yea... Doubt my team can do grounds reliably and efficiently. Not just yet anyway.

Think all lvl 90s (heroic) with an 94 sk, tanking (non-heroic), could do grounds? SK is only one with rk2 spells and such.

I started tanking and single killing mobs in Grounds on my Wiz lvl 90 at 60K HP with a J5 clr merc. Got my Pally there at LvL 89 60K hp 5K AC and my shm from 85 to assist heal and slow.
Could barely handle 2 at a time, but that was enough to start Grounds. Now Wiz 97/wizmerc, Pally 95/clr merc and shm 95/wiz merc, all set to burn let mobs die within seconds. Pally can handle up to 7 mobs now with defensive runnin. Clr merc and wiz merc can handle a beating or 2 themselfes, most of the time the 3 Wiz burning let the mob aggropingpong and essentially not do any serious dmg to anyone anymore. Just need to make an AE-Aggro on mobs or Grpheal at the start to keep mobs beating on tank mostly. When you get the highend 82 - 87 gear you can prolly go do grounds earlier.

Yes, I play my original toons from before the break. Have been soo proud to have them at 40K HP and being able to one grp Anguish its days, lol now i got pally to 65K hp just with rottloot lol.

Does Tosk drop those little Chronal dust things? I recall they only stack to 20, and are orange or yellow icons. They came from Korascian Warrens a lot.

It does drop there and they stack up to 200 and are orange. I took a couple days break from that area in hopes that the money in valley would be better. I was sadly mistaken. Banked 71k in 48 hours of camping in valley. Either I had a shitty camp or the drops there really do suck. I'm going back to Tosk. It's safe. I can get away with using a T5 apprentice merc, who rarely heals, and I can bank 100k a night. I'd camp grounds but there's a guy who likes to train people. Oddly, I was still getting a little bit of xp in Tosk at 97 lol. Mind you, it was super shitty and I'm just there for the coin now unless I'm PLing an alt.

This is a great place to level. I used this location for about 2000 AA's on a group of 85's. I had my Cleric on regular exp and got her to level 95, but the others I moved out at level 89. Regular exp slows down and most mobs con LB at 88, 89. Nice Plat here as well.

I used this place with my SK team. I was there almost an entire day, and I only saw one person during that time. It was a great place to play, but with my group of 6 characters I only got about half of a level in an entire day. It was a very safe place for my gimped team because everything was single pulls.

If you don't mind me asking, I would like to know if you were using something that increased your experience? ...a potion? ...some type of scroll or other? ..only playing two or three characters together?

Nothing special. Doesn't matter if I run a full crew with 1 merc or just 2 box with 1 merc. Any kind of xp gained will be at a SUPER SLOW rate. It's a downfall to a safe afk zone. Can afk for days, but the xp will be slow.

What Dulak Said, the thing nice about this zone is the ability to AFK with relative safety, there is no such thing as completely safe when AFK Boxing. I saw quite a few people while I was here, but very few ever made it up to this camp. There is one quest that will spawn 2 mobs your group will pull from here, would not be a good thing to be AFK, when someone is trying to run the quest. With all that said this was a great place to just let the team go, while watching Netflix on the other monitor.

I've been afk in that camp for days. Had a few people send me tells (I run with tell windows on) asking if they could kill the mobs that popped. I never replied. But they killed them anyway and went on their way. When I finally sat down to the keyboard, I'd reply to them if they were online with some excuse or another as to why I didn't reply. Usually I used the whole "GF doesn't like it when I talk to people online" thing works. It's total BS but they buy it.

Oh, If you had sent me a tell about how your GF won't let you chat online, I think I would have to add you to my friends list. I would be so looking forward to the tells I would send you about that, every time I logged on. hehe

I tried it for awhile, nice and quiet only wiped when I had some huge lag that destroyed kissassist. Good platinum, was nice actually looting coins again. Crappy Xperia but that's ok.

Old thread I know, I haven't necro'd in awhile... This still a good spot? I have ran thru here to get to Warrens but don't know much more about this zone. I assume by looking at the path you all took to the spot there is a 2nd level up? I'm looking for a place to park my 86 SHM, 82 BRD and 82 WAR now that they have outgrown Loping Plains. I took them to the hallway to Warrens just to see if they could handle the Rallo's and it went fine. I plan on pulling out a merc apiece, not sure if I need 2 healers (doubt it) so will prolly use a healer merc & 2 caster mercs. Whadaya think?

It still works I needed some CC there. It is on the 2nd floor. Had another group setup under me on the first floor while i was there and had no issues. Let me know if ya need a mesh for mq2nav.

I used this spot a ton. But you get quite a few double pulls and some triple. When I did this spot I had an enchanter in the group and it wasnt bad. If your tank isnt geared really well I would try the camp with 2 healer mercs to start out with.

Until your tank is at least 90 with some decent gear, I'd use KA around the zone in for Warrens. Some of the pulls at the camp on the 2nd floor can be a bit tricky and can wipe your group if you're not careful.

I have been running my guys there for a week, the exp is every slow after 86, theyre just about 87 now. Managed to make about 350k in spells, and stuff .. lots of dust that sells for about 400pp per on my server (goes straight into my Mains guild bank) that coud probably have made me another 120k.

My Bard handles cc well but 3 mobs can be awkward if the Warr is low on end (I know I need to work harder on his ini), or if the cleric is slow. If the bard goes down with more than one mob in camp, then they're toast. The cleric generally does well but I wish he were on it a bit faster. The wizards x 3 seem to do decent dps, and things dont stay up long. Most of the wipes have been causes by lagg. They are still only using heroic stuff. And would probably fare better if they had better gear.

I have alternated between the upper camp on the map, and the lower floor one (pretty much directly below). The 'Officers' can behandled easily alone, but if they come with a couple of other mobs, then its goodbye miss saigon.

Below meaning in and around the circle? I scouted out the 1st floor circle but didn't think runnin a mac could handle pathing around myriad pillars and structures that the ring consists of. I was also concerned that pulls would bring back too many mobs in some places.

I don't mind the slow xp per se, I just need a good macro spot after outgrowing my last spot. Semi-afk spots are getting harder to find as I level up my group, and the requirements to deem a spot good are...stringent, but common to anyone running a mac.

Wow really need the tank at 90 before safely holding the spot? The Warrens tunnel at first glance didn't seem populated enough to support a constant diet but I will scout it out more thoroughly and maybe extend ranges. The tunnels will prolly get more traffic simply because it's a zone access.

Maybe I will consider 2 healer mercs afterall.

The BRD doesn't get AE mez until 85 iirc. I'm guessing it could prolly handle 3 adds in single target mode, correct?

With this group being 82-86, would there be a better zone for macroing until I get them a few levels higher?

Unless your group (or at least tank) is very well geared, you should probably hold off from this place a while longer. With that said, if you can do it, it's a nice spot.

I was to the east of the circles I popped a camp fire between the buildings (a relatively safe spot), I was using KA and the bard ran and pulled everything he needed to ... lots of boars and ogres (don't forget to put the slaves on ignore list if you're going there, else youd be battering alot of greys and for no reason).

It's not a horrible place, but it would definitely be a better place if the tank was twinked. But if your CC cant AE mezz... forget it till he can. There are definitely going to be multiple adds alot of the time.

Great spot, I took it from 85-90 when it started to slow down last week. If I could figure out MQ2Nav it would have been even better.

I just figured out MQ2Nav today. Make sure your Directx is up to date, then you open up the mesh generator in the MQ2 folder. When you open it you have to set two folders to save the mesh, first you select th elocation of where your everquest folder is select that folder, then second you select your MQ2 folder. Oepn up the zone you wish to create the mesh then hit build mesh save it. Once the mesh is save in game so /plugin mq2nav, should open up and lay a grid over the landscape. Then do /mac kissassist with the puller and it should pull with MQ2Nav.

This zone got highlighted on my server recently in general chat because someone was killing quest NPCs. I talked to the guy who was affected and he sent tells and /say messages and finally just trained the group.

If you're gonna afk here or anywhere else, use the AFK tools.
